Things you didn't notice for years

I was thought that in R/B/Y, that the guy outside Cerulean Cave had one of those furry British guard hats and it turns out to be the cave entrance is just behind him.

omg hahahaha I remember thinking the exact same way and I thought it was awesome that his hair could block you from the cave like that, ah the nostalga :')

It took me the longest time in the world to realize that Rock did not, infact, resist Rock and that Rock did not resist Bug. I also thought Stone Edge was 120BP for a good 2 years or so. Also I didn't notice that Arbok's belly patterns tended to change ever so slightly depending on the game that it was in:

It took me to X and Y to realize that Sharpedo was a cut in half shark. BeforeI I thought, his tail was simply hidden behind his body (the sprites looked that way and since I never used one by myself...).
Agh, that bothered me to no end when I found out about it. The official art always left it looking ambiguous, and I'd even seen fan art of it with a tail, so since I'd never used one, I always just assumed it had a tail. Then in one of the later games (can't remember which), I used one in the Battle Frontier, and found out the truth.

I always that the red rectangle on Masquerain's body was its mouth, and that those circles were oddly shaped fangs or something - now that I see them as eyes, it's like an entirely new Pokemon. Weird to look at one now, because I have to remind myself that they are in fact eyes. Makes Masquerain seem a lot less... menacing.
