But I also wouldn't want a pet that's too 'exotic' - our typical domesticated animals are popular for a reason and we have a lot more access to the right information and care for them. Bringing exotic pets home can be dangerous for you and the animal.

I do like crows though, like I wouldn't bring one inside my house and keep it in a cage, but having a crowfriend would be cool. They're really smart birds and if they like you they will keep coming to your home and interacting with you (and if they hate you they'll tell all their friends to caw at you when you walk by, so be nice to crows)
If it were possible and I had the space to look after one, I wouldn't mind a screech owl or something.
Although for something I'd be more likely to be allowed to get...some capybaras. Always thought those were neat after seeing them for the first time as a kid. Again, would need quite a bit of space for those, so my chances of that are pretty slim.
I want to own a leopard, everyday when I get out teh house to buy eggs, I come with a rope, the everyone laughs at me, the I "wlinked" and pulled my rope, then.... A leopard, "ghaooooo" gets out, I get on its back and I splaped in its but, and run and run and run,
