Chapter 4: A Wicked Route 30
Post Number: 2
After having killed those groups of three Pokemon, you might spend some of your time exiting Cherrygrove City dwelling on that. You are most likely tired and rather hungry right now, and night is rapidly approaching on the horizon. You have heard the stories of going out after dark and know that it is not safe, but you cannot bring yourself to stay in the town any longer. So, without caring what might get you in the night, you leave Cherrygrove City and head out onto Route 30, unsurprised to find it looking just as decimated as Route 29.
You walk a ways and finally decide, now that the light is gone, that it would be a good time to hunker down somewhere. You might be unsure as to where this would be, however, because as soon as you stop you can hear crunching and shifting of the night Pokemon. This might make you uneasy, so possibly climbing a tree will be your best bet? In any case, however you spend your night you might want to expect it to get interrupted by one of the wild ones.

Nearly all of these Pokemon will be attracted to you because you are something they have never seen before, and possibly even because you're currently sleeping on their territory. They might be angry or cautious, but they will approach you and attack if they can. As for Bulbasaur, it will most likely only be attracted to you because of the glow of your fire. These Bulbasaur aren't (oddly enough) like the other night Pokemon. Generally they are timid and will flee if they notice you move, but occasionally a stubborn one will show up. For your purpose, however, it might be better to capture one of the easier ones. Choose your Pokemon wisely, always remember that.
The next day you will wake up with or without a new Pokemon, and pack up your "camp". You get moving, realizing that it would be best not to stay in one place for too long to give these wild Pokemon opportunities to attack you. As you are packing up, however, a stranger approaches you. He says his name is Stryker, and that he is supposed to test you.
Stryker has dark brown hair that is curly and slightly long. He has a shaggy look about him. His eyes are a curious light brown that borders amber, though something about the light (or so you think) makes it look like there is a blue edge around them. He wears cut off shorts that have holes and patches nearly all over the place. His shoes are old and worn, and through them you can see his sockless feet. His shirt is a cut off tank top, and he has a brown pack slung over his shoulder. There are six Pokeballs across the strap of his bag, though you cannot be sure they are each filled with a Pokemon. In any case, he grabs one of them and tosses it out. It's time to battle.
Opponent: Stryker
Pokemon:
Quilava
Gender: Male
Nature: ???
Level: 14
Moves: Quick Attack, Ember, Smokescreen, Tackle
Spinarak
Gender: Female
Nature: ???
Level: 11
Moves: Constrict, Scary Face, String Shot, Poison Sting
Koffing
Gender: Female
Nature: ???
Level: 9
Moves: Poison Gas, Tackle, Smog
You will win this battle, but only just. His Quilava is probably the toughest opponent, and will show his strength in the form of his fire attacks. Spinarak is good at annoying, what with the poison and the string shots. Koffing is new, and Stryker isn't as experienced with her as the other two, but she's still tough enough as it is. This battle most likely should be a close one, so make sure not to make it a landslide. After you beat him, Stryker will give you three potions and then leave.
