Gyms. With the 24 Gyms available to be challenged throughout both the HGSS and DPPt series, we were presented with around 24 Gym puzzles respectively. (Excluding Jasmine's) But out of this large group, which were your favourites? What about your least favourite? Hardest? Easiest? Which ones did you particularly enjoy? What are your thoughts on Gym Puzzles in general?

I love Gym Puzzles. I think they're essential to any pokemon gym. They put fun little twist on challenging Gyms and I found many to be enjoyable to solve, and many to be quite frustrating -- especially Sabrina's in HGSS, it took me about an hour to get to her, only to be thwarted. The only time I felt a little disappointed was when I went to face Jasmine. Being remakes I would have thought they would had at least updated or implemented some sort of steel related puzzle into her gym, but not, they had to keep it plain and boring. Although, it could be considered that the Lighthouse, where she attended the sick Ampharos was her puzzle, but it was really a challenge, just merely battle your way up to the top.

I don't care for gym puzzles. They just are quite irritating overall really, as most of time I just want to just do some battling in the gym, not super easy puzzles. If they could make the gym puzzles challenging, I'd be really happy with it, but their difficulty is their downfall.

I will say I enjoyed the Blackthorn City puzzle the most, but that's mainly for the eye candy.

Candice's gym puzzle completely confused me. I just smashed snowballs here and there to reach Candice, but couldn't do it until I eventually figured out the pattern myself.

I would argue that she did have a gym puzzle, albeit not in the true sense in that it really starts from the Lighthouse itself. You need to fight your way up to get to her, and then cross the ocean to get help. (And it seems that the gym trainers had been part of the group you fought in the Lighthouse too). Which would probably be on paper the hardest one, but then it wouldn't be the case every time for every challenging trainer to her gym (I hope not, anyways =p).

Anyways! I like Candace's the most from DPPt actually; always loved ice puzzles and this one had been fairly tricky too which I enjoyed. Wasn't too impressed with most of the others from that game though. Pryce's in HGSS was alright but I preferred GSC's there, but Clair's was very nice and probably my favourite from Johto.

And Blue's in HGSS was full of spinning fun, haha.

There's certain aspects in the lot of the gyms that I liked, while in others, I didn't like a lot of the certain aspects to it.

Here's my favorite and least favorite for DPPt, if I had to choose:
Favorite: Volkner's gym, mainly because of the fun little electric based puzzles in each room you had to solve.
Least Favorite: Candice's gym, because of the annoying ice puzzle you had to figure out, which took me forever.

And for HGSS, again, if I had to make a choice:
Favorite: Clair's gym in Johto, and Blue's gym in Kanto. Both of the gyms had fun puzzles and aesthetics. Which is why I picked them.
Least Favorite: Falkner's and Jasmine's gyms in Johto, and Brock's gym In Kanto. No puzzle in any of these, which is the reason why I picked these for least favorite.

I actually liked how Jasmine's Gym "trolled" you; you go in expecting her Gym to be the same as in the originals, only to find two trainers. Then they see you, walk up to you...and let you off scot-free! But you can definitely consider the Lighthouse as the "replacement" for her having no trainers in her Gym.

I really love the design of the Blackthorn Gym, even though it wasn't much of a "puzzle." And the Clefairy-shaped Goldenrod Gym is just adorable...Azalea's Gym was definitely a big improvement from its original.

Still, my favorite is Hearthome Gym, because "impossibly easy math."

I found Morty's gym to be kind of fun, but that's just because I liked to walk into the darkness for fun :D

This is ridiculous, but I hated Maylene's gym. I couldn't figure out what to do with the punching bags for the longest time... In SS, I also just didn't get the point of Jasmine's gym. It looked like there was snow in there...And tbh, I didn't like Clair's gym. It reminded me of Bowser's Castle...:P

I've only played Diamond of the 4th gen thus far so I'll comment on those gyms :)

My favourite would probably be Fantina's, taking the lift and answering questions cause it gave you so much experience going in every room :)

Also loved Byron's cause of all the lifts and things :)

Maylene's and Wake's were also fun, especially the water gym for some reason :)

In general I would say I'm a fan of puzzles, it provides a fun (in most cases lol) challenge in addition to facing the leader :)
