I was wondering if PC could implement it?

Thread description is a little description under the thread title(I saw this on PHO(pkmnhackersonline.com)).

To give you a better idea:

    [PokeCommunity.com] Thread Description?

Er... is it necessary? I mean... you can just hover over the thread title and get a peek at the first post. And thread titles + that should give you an idea of what it's about.

Also- out of curiosity- can vB even do that? I don't recall ever seeing thread descriptions on a vB forum.

The forum he screenshotted runs vBulletin, I assume it can be implemented via plugin. Regardless, while it may not be completely "necessary" or be able to bring about large, positive change to PC, it's still a nice little feature to have, and possibly be creative with, as well as possibly providing more insight than the title already has, as to what's inside a thread. That being said, I completely agree with this suggestion.

I don't think this is necessary and people should stop comparing PC to other forums. It's nice the way it is.

I don't recall reading any "comparing", to be frank.
It seems like a nice idea. Not necessary, but nice. If PC implemented it, I wouldn't mind it around. If it didn't, same goes there.

Personally, I don't think this is really needed, mainly because it would just add a little bit of clutter to the page, in my opinion.
Granted, sometimes there are strange thread titles, normally in OVP and OC, but that adds to the boards charm, having a little description of the thread below it will just take away from the board.

    Just what I think anyway...

I think our hover-over tooltip is the equivalent of this already. It would probably look a bit strange too, but if PC decided to do it I bet they could implement it in a way that wouldn't look so strange - maybe if a description isn't entered, the tooltip text would be entered? Because having some threads with the description and some without would look a bit strange imo.

Don't wanna be another drone, but basically this serves no practical purpose. If you look at the example you gave, the description is going to get abused simply as another line of text which is seen from the outside. Besides a few instances, it isn't going to be used to any real helpful or meaningful purpose that would warrant adding it...

I do agree with all the clutter, but if it was useful, it might be ok, but really it doesn't serve a good enough purpose for my money...
