[Sorry guys, I've been super busy with school. I'm trying as much as I can to stay with everyone though, and I should be much better this week]

"And that's when the disasters hit. We already had it planned out and everything! So, I came here to try to stop the disasters. That means that we're going to have to battle some legendary Pokémon. Do you think we're strong enough for that?" Jakob asked his friend. The Chimchar quickly jumped up on a log and tried to show off its muscles. But, the log started moving and Chimchar fell off, right into the base of a tree. Jakob ran over to Chimchar to see if it was alright, chuckling as he did so. Chimchar was a big goof. He made it to Chimchar, and found him holding an egg that had apparently fallen out of the tree. As Jakob picked up the egg to examine it, he heard the sound of flapping wings and squawking behind him. They were about to be under attack.

"Phyre! Flamethrower!" Jakob yelled out. He dove out of the way as his furry monkey friend released a hot stream of fire from its mouth. Turning around, Jakob saw their opponent. There were 2 Pidgeys and a Pidgeotto, mad that their egg fell out of the tree. They thought Jakob was trying to steal it. One of the Pidgeys had been hit squarely with the Flamethrower blast, but the other two birds looked livid. Flapping its wings, the Pidgeotto charged at Jakob's face.

"Phyre, stop the Pidgeotto with Thunderpunch!" Jakob yelled, bracing himself for the hit. But, as he looked up, he saw his Chimchar jump up a tree and throw itself down with its fist in front, Superman style. Jakob could see the little monkey's fist charged with electricity, which spiraled around the monkey as it dove. Chimchar connected with Pidgeotto's face, and the bird fell to the ground, paralyzed. By this time, the two Pidgeys were up and attacking.

"Use Fire Spin on the Pidgeys!" Jakob ordered, wondering how this 2 on 1 battle would fair for Phyre. Phyre trapped the first Pidgey in the spiraling flames, but the second dodged it and flew into Phyre. The Chimchar flew backwards, taking the first hit of its career. "Phyre, buddy, you alright?" Jakob asked his friend.

"Chim!" it responded. It jumped back up, ready for more.

"Alright, then! Use Flame Wheel on the Pidgey that's in the Fire Spin! But get ready to launch another attack right after that!" Jakob told his buddy. The Chimchar jumped up to the column of flame, and then spun so that it was engulfed in flames itself. The Pidgey was knocked out of the Fire Spin, unconscious. Just as Jakob suspected, the other Pidgey flew after Chimchar. "Bounce off that tree and use Thunderpunch on the Pidgey!" Jakob ordered. Chimchar executed it perfectly, and the second Pidgey was knocked out. It was down to Chimchar and Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto flew at Chimchar, trying to tackle it like the Pidgey did. "Flame Wheel, Phyre!" Jakob ordered, and Chimchar flung itself at Pidgeotto.

After the dust cleared, Jakob could tell that both Chimchar and Pidgeotto had taken heavy damage. He didn't know how much more his Chimchar could take. "Phyre, finish it now with a Thunderpunch!" he hoped, more than he said. Chimchar ran at Pidgeotto and delivered an uppercut to the beak. That appeared to be it for Pidgeotto, and the bird hit the ground hard. Realizing that it was now or never, Jakob tossed a Pokeball at the Pidgeotto, who was still twitching on the ground. It wiggled, and Jakob thought to himself "Please let this work. Please, please, please!"

Luna hoped and wished with all her heart that they'd be nearing the exit to the tunnel very soon. After the laborious amount of walking they were experiencing and what seemed like hours in the dark, she just hoped they'd make it sooner or later.

Every now and again Luna would mumble words of encouragement to her Pokemon, knowing they were both getting tired. Butterfree had now collapsed on her shoulder, breathing heavily in her ear whilst Mudkip had insisted on being carried, her muscles sore. They obviously didn't realise that Luna herself was getting weary, the extra weight of her Pokemon slowing her down even more. Luna didn't want to return her Pokemon to their Pokeballs though, it was creepy enough in the tunnel.

After walking for hours in the dark, Luna was getting used to the sounds the tunnel brought with it. Rattling of stones, flapping of wings and the occasional piercing roar were beginning to not bother Luna. Another noise, however, did. Piercing crying, it echoes throughout the tunnel very suddenly, shocking Luna and her Pokemon.

Peering around it the darkness was difficult but Luna soon found the source of the noise as it got louder and louder, seeming to be coming closer. The small dark orange Pokemon who'd attempted to bite off her hand appeared very suddenly at her feet, staring up at her whilst his mouth was wide open, crying very loudly. Mudkip wriggled in Luna's arms to be put down before Mudkip slowly creeped forward, attempting to comfort the little Pokemon.

"Hello again little guy," Luna murmured, bending down to try and get a closer look at the Pokemon she didn't recognise. She watched in silence as Mudkip got the
Trapinch to talk, trying to get it to explain what it's problem was and why it was crying.

"Mudkip!" Mudkip exclaimed before jumping back, giving Luna a sudden fright who stood up straight once more, watching Mudkip enter battle formation.

"You want to battle?" Luna questioned, dumbfounded. The Trapinch also looked ready for battle, his small eyes trained on Luna. "In this darkness? Alright then," Luna gave in.

"Sorry if we hurt you, uh, is it Trapinch?" At the mention of it's name, Trapinch leapt into the air, over excited. "Mudkip, water gun!"

Mudkip nodded at Luna before shooting a jet of water at the Trapinch, hitting it squarly in the face. The Trapinch looked shaken but not at all hurt that much. It dove forward, attempting a Tackle attack that hit Mudkip before she could move. Knocked over, Mudkip struggled to her feet. All the walking they had done had taken it's toll on Luna's Pokemon, they were exhausted before the battle had even begun.

    "Keep going Mudkip, Take Down!"

As Luna's voice echoed throughout the tunnel, Mudkip raced forward, this time knocking the Trapinch off it's feet, clearly doing some damage. It just got back up though, seeming to enjoy the battle.

The Trapinch then lunged forward after Mudkip, who was retreating back to where Luna stood, clamping it's jaws down on Mudkip's body for a couple of seconds before it let go.

"Mudkip! You alright?" Luna asked, horrified for Mudkip certainly did not look alright. The bite seemed to have sent Mudkip into shock, the pain level certainly above normal. Hastily Luna scrambled for her backpack and Mudkip's Pokeball, returning Mudkip before anything worse happened. Gritting her teeth, Luna called upon Butterfree.

"Butterfree, get out there and finish this battle!"

Butterfree nodded in reply, gracefully taking off from her shoulder to face his opponent.

    "Butterfree, stun spore!"

In an instant Butterfree was chasing Trapinch around the small space they had for a battle field, ernestly trying to paralyze the Trapinch once more but failing. Luna cursed to herself before giving another command.

    "Use Confusion Butterfree!"

Beams of light shot from Butterfree's eyes, directed straight at the Trapinch. It lit up the tunnel and Luna had to sheild her own eyes, in fear of retaining a side effect of Butterfree's attack.

It seemed to do the trick though, for Trapinch was soon wobbling around from side to side as it tried to make it's way over to Luna. Butterfree then continued with Stun spore, landed a direct hit on the Trapinch. It soon stopped moving, both confused and paralyzed.

Grabbing an empty Pokeball with some difficulty in the dark, Luna enlarged it before throwing it at the Trapinch. More light lit up the tunnel as the Trapinch disappeared into the ball. It landed with a soft thud on the dirt ground, rolling from side to side. As much as she wanted this capture to succeed, Luna hoped she hadn't hurt the little Pokemon too much.

As Butterfree landed back on her shoulder, content with his short battle, they both watched and waited for the Pokeball to stop rolling around or the same overly friendly smile to appear before them once more.

Just as Damian had expected, the Rhyhorn was dead set on following them. Damian was currently hiding behind a boulder, the now quiet thuds of the Rhyhorn's feet just moments away. He had recalled Charmeleon a while ago in a desperate attempt to make sure the Rhyhorn wouldn't find him. Sure, it might be a valuable asset to his team, but he just didn't know if it would be or not for sure. It was only a baby, after all. Damian wasn't even sure if it could fight. He didn't really want it to tag along and get injured every step of the way, but Rhyhorn seemed dead set on sticking with Damian.

By now Damian could hear the soft snuffling of its nose on the ground. He cursed inwardly and glanced around the dark place, staring at the soft light that he had first seen a little less than ten minutes ago. He was almost out of the cave, but that Rhyhorn would have to be ditched. Damian had to admit he sort of hoped it would be afraid of the bright lights and run back into the cave, hopefully finding its mother before it got eaten by something evil. Damian licked his lips and slowly shifted, moving to a standing position. He was going to make a run for the cave, and that was that. He wasn't going to let that Rhyhorn get him, either.

Just as soon as Damian had launched away from his hiding spot and his footsteps were audible, the Rhyhorn stopped its snuffling and charged after him. Damian attempted to run even faster, but his pathetic human legs sort of held nothing to the large Pokemon. It almost seemed to find their runnings around like a game. In the end, Damian had a little brush with a stone that tripped him. Damian yelped as he went flying through the air, landing harshly on his already scraped palms. He groaned and blew on them, wiping the ache away on his shirt. It wasn't long before the Rhyhorn came to a stop, and Damian sighed.

"I don't suppose you're going to leave me alone," Damian stated simply, setting his palms on his knees. He was unsurprised to feel the beginnings of a hole there. "So what does this mean?"

The Rhyhorn grunted and Damian felt it shove his leg lightly. Damian sighed and flopped back down on the cave floor, uncaring that he was probably just getting dirtier and dirtier by the minute. Finally, Damian grabbed Charmeleon's Pokeball. He had grown tired of sitting in the dark, and figured Charmeleon could help him out with the decision. He tossed the ball lightly, and in a flash Charmeleon appeared. As soon as he did, fire illuminated the cave and made it nice and bright. Damian smiled slightly. Charmeleon glanced down at his trainer and then at the Rhyhorn, looking rather inquisitive.

"Here we are, Charmeleon," Damian commented idly. He pointed backwards towards the light. "Almost at the end of the tunnel. And yet this little Rhyhorn still refuses to leave me alone. What do you suppose we should do about that?"

Charmeleon grunted, fire on his tail growing slightly. "Char," he growled, crouching a bit lower. Damian smacked his Pokemon on the back of the head, making it look utterly surprised. "Char!" he cried out indignantly.

"No, I don't mean hurt it," Damian said sharply. Charmeleon rubbed the back of his head in a pouty manner. "We have two options. Take it back to its mother, or let it come with us." Charmeleon blinked and then glanced at the Rhyhorn with a critical look. He then looked at Damian with a dreadful expression on his face. "Yeah, I know. I didn't think it would help us much either," Damian commented. He saw the Rhyhorn look at the ground, scuffing at the cave floor with its feet. "But I'd rather not go all the way back there when we're so close to the exit. So I propose this. We let it come with us, let it grow a little. And then, when the time's right, we'll battle and capture it!" Damian grinned at his Pokemon, attempting to be encouraging.

Charmeleon looked over Rhyhorn once more. "Char," he said in a grumbly voice. He didn't seem to like the plan much. Damian sighed and pushed up from the floor, crossing his legs. "Charmeleon, Char," Charmeleon grunted.

"Oh come on. Be a good sport," Damian said in an almost idle way. He patted Rhyhorn's horn carefully. "Think about it. A big ol' Rhyhorn on our team. Everybody'd fear us then!"

Charmeleon simply rolled his eyes in reply and crossed his red arms. However, luckily for Rhyhorn, in the end he shrugged in a reluctant agreement. "Charmeleon."

"Excellent!" Damian stated. "C'mon now, Rhyhorn. I suppose you're stuck with me." Damian observed the Pokemon, pleased to see that it wasn't as midget-y as he had first thought. "You are just a little undersized, but I guess that's just 'cuz you're a baby, right?" Rhyhorn grunted and nudged Damian. "Great. So...I was just curious. Could I hitch a ride?"

Charmeleon smacked his forehead, grumbling things and turning away from his trainer. Damian paid him no heed, however, and excitedly waited for Rhyhorn's reply. It looked at him in confusion. Damian pointed to its back and tried again. Finally, Rhyhorn seemed to get the message. It nodded gleefully, and Damian carefully sat himself just behind the Pokemon's head. Rhyhorn seemed to have no problem with this, and Damian figured it was because of how little he weighed compared to Rhyhorn. He grinned widely.

"Charmeleon, come on," Damian called. He grabbed Charmeleon's Pokeball and held it up, pressing the button. In a flash, Charmeleon disappeared. "If I get too heavy," Damian said, glancing down at Rhyhorn. "Just let me know." With that, he pointed ahead. "Now, onto the bright shiny light at the end of the tunnel!"

Finally they broke through the tunnel, light shining upon both Rhyhorn and Damian. Damian grinned, steadying himself upon his new Pokemon (or so it seemed) so as he didn't fall. Damian looked about the top of the mountain with satisfaction, and it was then that he noticed that there was someone standing in the distance. Damian blinked slowly, and slipped down from Rhyhorn. Damian winced slightly, finding that his butt sort of hurt, but ignored that and narrowed his eyes at the figure. From what he could tell, it was a girl. Damian observed the familiar outfit for a moment, and then finally he was able to put the pieces together. He knew the girl standing in front of him. It was that Selene person, and she was smiling at him.

"Time to see how much you've matured," she commented in a rather idle way as she grabbed a Pokeball. Damian blinked slowly, feeling himself grow numb. He was going to battle her?!

"W...what?" Damian sputtered, figuring that he probably sounded like something of a coward. "I mean...right. Yeah, of course," Damian said, fixing his surprised expression. He grabbed Nidorino's Pokeball without much hesitation, and glanced at Rhyhorn who was looking on curiously. "You just stay by my side and observe how it's done, buddy," Damian stated, sounding quite a bit more confident than he actually felt. He glanced at Rhyhorn once more out of the corner of his eye, and then tossed the ball quickly as Selene did the same.

Moments later, there was a large lionlike thing standing opposite of Nidorino. Damian licked his lips as he looked at the Luxray, captivated by its red eyes and rather creepy expression. Damian vaguely wished that Nidorino could somehow evolve, because then whatever thunder it was packing would be useless. Shaking his head, Damian focused back in on the battle. Selene's eyebrow was raised almost as if she was waiting for him to make the first move. Damian didn't really want to, but he figured that it might be his only shot to gain a slight advantage, so he took the opportunity.

"Nidorino, attack with mega kick!" Damian ordered. He found himself resting his hand on Rhyhorn's side, quickly tapping his fingers on the Pokemon's tough side as Nidorino charged in with a roar.

"Luxray, use crunch when it nears," Selene ordered calmly, barely batting an eye at the oncoming attack. Damian frowned, obviously disliking her almost passive attitude.

Nidorino, however, didn't seem to be too concerned. He was nearing now, and looked ready to win. Damian could only watch as somehow the Luxray leaped away, leaving Nidorino to slam his foot into the rocky ground. Damian bit his lip; he couldn't deny that he had expected that. Moments later the Luxray's jaws closed down on Nidorino's back, making the Pokemon growl instead of shriek. Damian wondered if it was because Nidorino wouldn't let himself show pain, but then shoved that aside and called for a double kick. Inwardly he cursed himself; he'd just cost Nidorino a second of opportunity. Damian was no fool, he knew that if he didn't take every instance then the Luxray would have them defeated in less than five minutes flat.

Nidorino wrenched himself free, slamming his foot into the Luxray's face just moments before it ducked another kick. The Luxray didn't look too hurt, and that seemed to make Nidorino displeased. He grunted and pawed the ground in annoyance, but before he could launch another attack the Luxray slipped inside his defenses and snapped his jaws down once more. Just when Damian was about to call for Nidorino to get away again, a jolt of electricity shot through the Pokemon's teeth and Nidorino growled furiously as it coursed through his body. Damian's eyes widened as he watched, knowing that there was nothing he could do.

"Nidorino, get away and...er...well, stay away!" Damian ordered, figuring that maybe he could regroup and think as long as Nidorino could dodge the attacks. It probably wasn't a very likely thing to happen though, because that Luxray was faster than anything that Damian had ever seen. He felt a little flood of relief, however, when Nidorino managed to rip himself out of Luxray's grip and jog over to a nearby boulder. Damian blinked slowly, eyeing the boulder more than his Pokemon.

"Luxray, use spark," Selene ordered, still cool and calm.

"Nidorino don't you move!" Damian stated, hoping that his plan would work. Truthfully he didn't have much of a plan, but figured that it was something. "Stay there."

Nidorino glanced at Damian, looking at his trainer with sheer annoyance. Damian nodded once, silently telling his Pokemon to trust him. Damian, though he couldn't see it, thought about the scar on Nidorino's face from Charmeleon's attack. He pleaded with his Nidorino to stick to his word and let him do the strategizing. Nidorino glanced back at the Luxray, and Damian was unsurprised to see that it had crossed the distance in a couple seconds. Just as it was about to attack, however, Damian launched his plan into action.

"DUCK!" he screamed. His fingers tapped quicker on Rhyhorn's side, and Damian felt the heavy Pokemon shift under his hand.

Nidorino flattened himself on the ground, barely missing the flash of teeth and the spark attack that slammed into the rocks moments after he did so. Nidorino carefully jogged away while Luxray was still stunned from his own attack, shaking himself and blinking several times. Damian let out a breath of relief and grinned at Nidorino, shooting his Pokemon a thumbs up. Selene looked to be mildly interested, but other than that Damian couldn't much see any other emotion on her face.

"Good at masks," he whispered. "Alright Nidorino," Damian began once more, ready to turn the battle around, "go ahead and give it another double kick while it's a bit out of it!"

Nidorino whipped around mid stride and charged back at the Luxray, intent on getting some revenge for the attacks. Luxray was finally able to stand without wobbling, but suddenly winced and was jolted with electricity. Damian blinked, unsure of what had just happened. Nidorino slammed one foot into Luxray first, and when it tried to move Nidorino slammed yet another foot into it. Luxray snarled with pain, twitching and falling in an uncomfortable way. Damian's eyebrows knitted together as yet another small shock snapped off of Luxray's skin. It was then that he realized what had happened. Luckily for Damian and Nidorino, somehow the Luxray had managed to receive part of the shock and paralyze itself. Damian smirked.

"Luxray, wait for them to come to you," Selene ordered calmly, still seemingly alright with the turn of events. Damian glanced at her then back to the two Pokemon, contemplating what to do.

"Use mega kick!" he said finally, figuring that it would be best just to try to take it down as fast as possible.

    "Thunder."

Damian's eyes went almost impossibly wide. He whipped his head away from the two Pokemon back to Selene, trying to make sure he had heard her correctly. The Luxray, still lying down, flashed its teeth at Nidorino and slowly got to its feet. Nidorino grunted and didn't break his charge, ready to get this over with just as much as Damian. Damian watched in something akin to horror as the sky suddenly darkened and he heard thunder in the distance. Seconds later, there was a bright flash of light that came down just inches in front of Luxray, but right in front of Nidorino's path. Damian cried out his Pokemon's name, but still wasn't able to miss the harsh cry of pain that escaped his Pokemon's mouth as the attack hit dead on. The sky soon cleared, and Nidorino was left lying in the dust. Damian looked away but grabbed Nidorino's Pokeball, regret washing over him. He had failed it.

"I'm sorry, Nidorino," Damian whispered as he recalled the fallen poison type. Nidorino disappeared in a thin stream of red light. Damian felt Rhyhorn shift next to him, and then heard the soft grunt of sadness that escaped the large Pokemon. "It's alright, we've still got this," Damian muttered, eyes trained to the ground. He then looked up at Selene. Without breaking her gaze, Damian tossed Charmeleon's Pokeball and watched as he appeared in a flash of brilliant white light.

"Char!" he proclaimed, the light on his tail growing larger within seconds.

Damian held Selene's gaze still. "Use fire spin," he ordered, deciding that long range would be his best bet for finishing the battle.

Charmeleon steadily let out a burst of flame, realizing the importance of the battle. It spiraled around the slowed Luxray, and the Pokemon seemed to only be able to watch as it swirled around its body. Charmeleon finally finished the setup, and both him and Damian watched as the flames slowly closed in around Luxray, who didn't look any less calm than moments before.

"Luxray, use thunder fang," Selene stated.

Damian blanched. How was it that she was so well kept and calm? Damian eyed the battle apprehensively. Charmeleon was in a good position...right? Damian chewed on his lip as he watched the Luxray brave the flames and leap out, snarling as it charged towards Charmeleon with electricity on its teeth. Charmeleon, however, was ready for the attack. He let out a burst of fire in an ember, and watched as the Luxray barely dodged and snapped its jaws down on his tail. Charmeleon snarled and quickly brought down his sharpened claws on the Luxray's snout. Damian heard Luxray snarl as it quickly leaped away, but faltered because of the paralysis and fell down.

"Take your chance and use slash!" Damian ordered without hesitating to think.

"Luxray, watch it!" Selene called, looking a bit nervous (finally).

Charmeleon brought his claws down again in a quick slash, and it seemed to be over with a shriek from Luxray. Charmeleon sprang away from whatever Luxray might try to launch, but there was no need. The Pokemon had fallen on the ground just moments after pushing up after the attack, and didn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Selene and Damian locked gazes. Damian smirked despite himself, figuring that whatever was coming out next would kick his butt.

Anticipation swept around her like strong winds threatening to blow her away. It was almost unbearable and it seemed that it was worse than when she was waiting for the last one to succeed. Her heart sped up as it shook some more. She eyed the shiny white and red Pokéball intensely. Then Claire's pale brown eyes looked over at her brand new Croconaw standing to the right of it. His body held a massive amount of power inside of it and he was ready for more. The fight was aggressive and mostly stressful but they made it through it together. That is how it will always be She vowed to herself. A soft whimpering moan broke through her thoughts and she turned to see the bright yellow Pikachu regaining his balance to stand on his feet. She cried with relief and kneeled down to his level holding out her arms. She picked him up slowly with her tanned hands and raised the Pokémon to her face. "Are you okay?" She asked, worry filled her voice and she examined every inch of his body closely. She saw that his cheeks were still bright red and the sparks flying off were stronger than before. He seemed fine, just a little bump on the head is all."Pika" Flash said in his enthusiastic voice. It was cute straight to the bone and not one person could resist it, well they probably could but she couldn't.

She burst out in a happy laughter and hugged him tightly, net time she will make sure to do better. But with that single motion her mind snapped back to the Pokéball. Had it stopped? Was it still moving? She set Flash down and slowly walked towards it, it didn't seem to be moving at all. Hope fluttered insider of her and she leaned down to pick it up. As she did so she held it up to her face so she could look at it. She was about to yell to the world of her new Pokémon when the ball shook again in her hands. With a shriek of surprise she jumped backwards and the Pokéball flew out of her hands. She felt her feet give way under her and down to the ground she went. "Oof!" She complained as she landed hard on some rocks. But her eyes were intent on the Pokéball that was flying through the air. It was going farther than she meant to through it and with a splash it disappeared into the giant pool of water.

"Oops…" Was all she could manage to say. She stood stunned as it didn't float to the top, this couldn't be good. She struggled to get to her feet but the loose rocks kept causing her to fall back down. Every time she did so it hurt even more. "Kroc," She huffed "find that Pokéball!" She called from the ground. He stood looking over her with a look of amusement, before stomping out into the water. She watched as he walked around the shallow areas searching for it, but no use. His big orange eyes turned to face Claire with a pout. "Go get it please" She said crossing her arms and giving him the stare. With a grunt of defeat he loosened his shoulders and dived into the water. She watched as his head disappeared into the dark blue liquid.

It had been a couple minutes before she saw Flash start walking towards the water. Uh-oh. "No, you stay here" She said sternly and gave him the stare this time. What is with the attitudes? She could see his look of worry for the Croconaw he became recently acquainted with throughout this journey. Guilt flooded over her. But if she let him go he would fry Kroc with the electricity sparking off of him. As Flash hung his head and started to walk backwards there was another splash. The both turned around and saw Kroc's blue head reappear from the water. "Pika!" Flash cried and ran back to the edge of the water. Claire slowly rose to her feet, careful not to slip on the rocks again, and followed her Pikachu to the waters' edge. Though Kroc's pride for himself was obvious she saw the annoyance hidden underneath. He strode up and out of the water, shaking the cold wet droplets off of his body. He turned to Claire with his big orange eyes. "Well, where is it?" She asked, looking all around him for the Pokéball.

He turned his head away with disgust and held out his massive, uh, hand, to her and there was the soaked Pokéball. With relief she took it from him and hit the button. A flash of light lit up the dark cave and out came the Marowak from earlier. He seemed unharmed enough, but he definitely seemed moody. "Hello, um, you need a name" She said with realization. It had to be something that fit him perfectly. To others had names that matched, she would have to think hard for this one. Bored already he sat down and started examining his Bone Club. With a snap of her fingers she bolted up right "I got it" She announced. The Marowak didn't turn to her, instead he looked away uninterested. "You will be Skull from now one" She said and gestured her hands to the helmet atop his head. It seemed perfect, strong, determined, and moody. Yes definitely moody. She laughed to herself and looked around. Now it was time to get the heck out of this cave for good. She stared around and searched for some opening in the wall ahead of her. There were cracks and holes but none big enough for her to get through. This is going to take a while She thought to herself. Well it's now or never. She decided not to put Skull in his Pokéball, they needed to bond, and hopefully he would cooperate.

    ****

She panted hard and held her hands on her knees, the climb was harder than she thought. Almost there, don't give up now! A voice screamed inside her head. No she wasn't giving up, she came too far to back down. She looked behind her back and to her surprise no one was following. Before she erupted into a complete freak out mode she remembered before she climbed up here she put them all back in their Pokéballs. They didn't have to do through this, they needed to rest. She secretly wished she had her own little place to rest in right now. "Just keep going" She said with determination. The light was getting brighter and the exit was so close she could almost taste it. Just on more ledge, just one more rock, and she would be free. She managed to heave herself up and out of the exit with the last bit of her strength. She emerged from the darkness and the light was warm on her skin. She made it through the cave. "I did it!" She cried. But she had the strange sense of someone watching her. She stepped a couple of steps away from the exit and looked around frantically.

"Hello Claire," Says a voice. It came from no one she knew. She held her breath and she turned around slowly. But to her surprise there stood a tall woman. Her long blonde hair danced around her face as she faced the wind. Claire gazed into her icy blue eyes. "Who, who are you?" Claire asked with a questioning voice. She eyed the strange girl up and down. The woman wore a red, gold, and white uniform that stood out against the brown dirt around them. She was definitely someone strange. "My name is Chelsea, I am a good friend of Selene and a high Captain as a matter of fact" Chelsea said, obvious pride filled her voice. "Selene sent you?" Claire said in a whisper and looked around once more. "She isn't here. She sent me to see your progress, to battle you actually" Chelsea explained simply. "No need to worry though, I'll try take it easy on you." Chelsea laughed and stepped backwards. This couldn't be good.

Claire followed her lead and stepped backwards herself, and watched with frightened eyes as Chelsea received a Pokéball from her belt and tossed it into the air. "Raichu, your turn to shine love" The High Captain said and with a flash of light out came a Pokémon with golden skin that was marked with brown stripes. It had yellow ears and a long tail which held a thunderbolt shape at the tip. "Raichu" The Pokémon said and stood up straight, its bright yellow cheeks sent sparks of electricity flying off to the ground. This must be the evolved form of her Pikachu. Claire rumbled around in a hurry to get her own Pokéball. She kissed it softly and begged for him to listen. "Go, Skull!" She cried and threw it up into the air as well. The same flash of light came from the ball and out came the Marowak. He drummed his Bone Club on his hand and stared angrily at the Raichu. Claire had no idea how this matchup would go.

"Raichu, use Slam" Chelsea said with a wide grin on her face. Claire had to think fast "Skull use Boomerang" She cried, it was the only move she could think of off the top of her head. But the Raichu was quick and with a swift motion in used all of its body weight and slammed into Skull. He cried out in surprise and fell to the ground. But as that happened he threw his bone out into the air and watched as it circled around. The Raichu was too proud of what he did already to pay attention and with a hard whack in the side of the head it sent the Raichu off balance. But it was good and regained its posture before the boomerang attack went it for the second run. This time the bone hit the Raichu in the stomach and circled back to Skull, who got to his feet as well.

Claire heard a small grunt of disappointment from Chelsea as her Raichu started to walk around a bit dazed by the attack. "Raichu use Double Team then hit it with a Bolt Tackle!" She called. Raichu fell out of his daze and stood up tall, and in a couple of seconds there were about five of the Pokémon surrounding Skull. "Try to dodge the attack and hit the right Raichu with Headbutt" Claire called to him. She had no idea if this would work but they had to try. This woman was strong but Claire was determined to prove her strength. "Rai-CHU" The Pokémon called with its cattle cry and one of the five Pokémon rammed into Skull with electricity shielding itself. The Marowak was spun in circles from the attack and he started to look a bit dizzy and tires. I will not lose She promised herself.

Skull, still looking dizzy, watched as the Raichu returned to the group and they started to jumble up. "Hit every one of them until you find it" Claire called with irritation escaping her voice. Skull turned to Headbutt one and it disappeared, four more to go. After the first two fails he seemed to get frustrated with himself. He turned and with all of his might and Headbutt the third one. She heard the wind being knocked out of the Raichu as the Marowak found the right one and saw its golden body fall to the floor. "Finish it off with Double-Edge!" Claire called to him. It was a risky move but she hoped with all her might the darn Raichu would be done for. "Raichu use Thunderbolt" Chelsea called, but her Pokémon didn't mover a muscle off the ground. Skull hesitated before erupting into a furious tackle and slammed into the Raichu sending it fly across the ground and into a large rock. Claire watched as a look of panic crossed Chelsea's face and she took out the Pokéball. "Good Job, Raichu" She said in a whisper that Claire almost didn't catch. The Raichu disappeared into the ball from where it laid on the ground.

Claire turned her attention back to Skull who was looking very weak and almost plopped to the ground several times. "Oh no, Skull come back!" She cried and sent him back into his Pokéball. Why had I been so stupid to use that move? She whimpered to herself. "I am so sorry Skull" She said and moved her hands softly over the Pokéball. "You're good," Chelsea said with a hint of surprise in her voice "but you won't beat me. Go, Milotic!" Chelsea called out and threw up another Pokéball. Out came the most beautiful Pokémon Claire had seen in her life. It had a snake like body that was cream colored. And at the end around the tail part the cream color disappeared and blue and pick scales were there instead and it wrapped around until the end. At the tip was what looked like a fan kind of thing? And atop its head were two pink antennae that curled up and around forming what was almost a heart. Pink layers of skin draped around its neck and it wailed out in a beautiful voice "Milotic"

Well, this was going to be fun. "Flash, it's your turn!" Claire called and into the battle field stood her bright yellow Pikachu. "Pika" He said, but this time his voice was not soft and cute but loud and strong. It was like he turned into a whole other Pokémon in battle. "Flash use Thundershock" She called. Chelsea looked a bit nervous but anyone could tell she had complete confidence in her Pokémon Team. "Milotic use Hyper Beam" The Captain said to her Pokémon. The opponent threw back its head and sucked in a deep breath before a beam of yellow and white fury blasted Flash and sent him flying. He moved through the air and hit the ground with a hard thud. Claire waited as he laid breathing heavily on the ground. This can't be it, he was only hit once! She found herself screaming inside for him to get up, but still he didn't. The Milotic had its eyes closed to regain energy before it could attack once more.

Claire felt all hope was lost and was about to draw out her Pikachu's Pokéball when he staggered to his feet. New hope flooded over her along with a spark of confidence. "Pika-CHUUU!" He cried and a bolt of electricity flew towards the Milotic, and with a shriek of surprise and pain it endured it. And the electricity died down Claire saw to opponent still standing strong and ready for more. "Milotic use Hyper Beam again!" Chelsea called. It was almost as if the Pokémon smiled as it through its head back once again. "Pikachu dodge the attack then hit it with Thundershock again" Claire yelled, tossing her dirty blonde hair out of the way. The Milotic sent another large beam of yellow and white at Pikachu, and it was too late for him to dodge it. He stood his ground as it swept by him and he disappeared into the light.

As the beam faded away Claire watched with agony as Flash fell to the ground light dead weight. "No!" She cried and ran to his side, he was beat up pretty bad. She cradled him in her arms and stood up to grab his Pokéball. "Good-job" She said with a small tear running down her face, this was just too much to bear. The Pikachu disappeared into the ball and she looked at her empty arms. She promised she would not lose, and she would keep to that promise even if she can't keep it. She raised her head slowly and stared at Chelsea who had withdrawn her Milotic. "You can do it Kroc" Claire said as she threw her last Pokéball into the air. Out came her Croconaw, who still looked pretty beat up from the last fight with the Marowak.

Chelsea eyed Claire's Pokémon with interest then sent out her own. Standing right in front of Kroc reaching as tall as a human being was a Meganium. It had bright green skin and a very long neck that stretched to the sky. Beautiful petals of a pink flower surrounded its neck and small yellow antennae were atop its head. It looked beautiful and tough all at the same time. "Kroc use Crunch" Claire said, not taking her eyes off the opponent.

"Meganium use Mega Drain" Chelsea said in laughter. Her Pokémon was quick, but so was Kroc, he leaped at the opponent and drew his teeth into its side and it wailed in pain. It recovered fast though and threw him off effortlessly and stood its ground. Before Claire had a chance to get a word out the Meganium roared fiercely and started to drain energy from the Croconaw. She saw his legs buckled underneath his weight and his strength disappear from his body. "Stop! Please just stop! You win" Claire cried to Chelsea. The Meganium still held its attack though and carried on draining Kroc's energy. He weakly fell to the ground and she saw his eyes start to close slowly. "That's enough!" Claire said with such ferocity in her voice it caused Chelsea to jump.

"No more Meganium" Chelsea said and withdrew her Pokémon. By the time Claire had reached Kroc's side his eyes were shut and his breathing was deep, he was okay but hurt. She moved her hands over his head and kissed his cheek before he disappeared into his Pokéball. She stood up slowly and turned to Chelsea who was clearing her throat. "You battled well Claire, but don't beat yourself for that. This was just for practice." Chelsea begins. "But even for practice, you battled very well. I'm going to have to put in a good word about you to Selene." She smiled softly "Come on, we must get back to the base."

She was right this was practice, no hard feelings. Claire felt herself relax a little. At least now they get to go rest a while. She watched as the High Captain started to scale down the mountain and head towards the direction at the base. Finally they get to go back.

"Don't worry guys, next time we won't lose" Claire said to her Pokéballs in her pack and with that quickly followed Chelsea down the Mountain.

Getting out of the tunnel was Luna's sole priority after she had succesfully captured the Trapinch. It didn't take her all that long either and with Butterfree for company she managed to get herself and her Pokemon safely out to the other side of the mountain, except for her ankle. It wasn't badly swollen though, Luna still able to put weight on it so she brushed it off, telling herself that with a good night's rest it'd be fine. Once she got out into the light though, it wasn't what she expected.

Waiting for her was a young man, though much older than herself, who seemed to be specifically waiting for Luna. She didn't see him at first, too busy staring at the sky, happy to have something else above her head besides crumbling rock. Butterfree did notice him though, rising off her shoulder as he stared.

"Hi," His introducted startled Luna for a second before she realised there was someone else present and what kind of uniform he was wearing. He obviously wasn't here to bring her food, which her subconscious mind was thinking a lot about. "I'm Adam, a friend of Selene's."

"Hi there," Luna sounded more out of breath than she looked, still exhausted from the walk. "I guess you already know I'm Luna?"

"Yup, and Luna, I'm challenging you to a battle,"

Luna groaned in reply, slumping onto the grass, dropping her bag in the process. Butterfree hovered in the air for a second more before rested on top of her head.

"What kind of reply is that?" Adam joked, twirling a Pokeball in his hands.

"It's just that I've been walking for hours," Luna exaggerated. "My Pokemon are tired, I'm tired. Do you really have to challenge me now?"

"All the more reason to," Was all Adam replied with before he threw forward the Pokeball in his hands. The Pokeball bounced on the ground, opening quite quickly. A huge bird Pokemon materialised, one Luna had never laid eyes upon before. Adam then looked expectantly at Luna before she realised he wanted her to send forth one of her Pokemon. Luna instantly panicked.

"All my Pokemon are way to small to battle that thing,"
She thought to herself. "But then again, maybe that doesn't matter. Oh well, I'll just try my best,"

Thinking quickly, Luna realised Mudkip would have the best chance against the bird Pokemon but Luna didn't know if she'd had enough time to recuperate. Luna found Mudkip's Pokeball anyway, releasing Mudkip infront of her. Once Mudkip had materialised, Luna noticed she didn't look as worse for wear as she'd thought Mudkip would be. She looked almost ready to battle.

Luna slowly found the courage to rise to her feet once more, feeling annoyance at this Adam character. All she wanted to do was rest and eat, instead he comes along to ruin her rejoicing that'd she'd finally made it out of the cave. Luna felt more determined then ever now she'd had a chance to think things through to show Adam she wasn't just any petty trainer. She'd managed to capture two Pokemon so far. That was pretty good, right?

"Okay Mudkip! The sooner we're able to beat this guy, the sooner we can eat!"

"Mudkip!" Mudkip replied, obviously happy with that proposal.

Luna looked towards Adam as he nodded for her to take the first attack. She nodded back solemly, warily eyeing the big bird that stood infront of Mudkip. Luna doubted again whether or not her Pokemon would be able to beat this Pokemon of monstrous size.

"Attack with water gun at full power!" Luna called to Mudkip. Mudkip took a moment to build up pressure before releasing the water gun attack, hitting the Staraptor squarly in the face. After Mudkip had stopped, resuming a battle pose, the Staraptor blinked a couple of times, clearly annoyed at getting wet.

"Staraptor, use wing attack," Adam's instructions were almost casual as Luna watched his Pokemon react instantly. It was off the ground with great speed before zooming down to whack Mudkip off her feet with his powerful wing. Luna could only gasp as she watched Mudkip tumble off to the side, the fin on her head now slightly bent.

"Mudkip, remember the food!" Luna yelled, crossing her fingers for luck. It couldn't be over for Mudkip just yet, could it? Fortunately, Mudkip struggled to her feet. Her strength was depleted to the point where it had been before Luna had called her back to her Pokeball whilst they were in the tunnel. Back to square one really. "Try a mud shot!"

Mudkip was ready to fire at her opponent but she found there was none. Luna looked around, suddenly very terrified of a surprise attack. It was not long before Staraptor came plummeting back to earth, Adam having called a sneaky attack for Staraptor to perform. Mudkip was again knocked off her feet, now feeling worse than ever. The Staraptor looked virtually unharmed as it came to land infront of Adam once more, receiving a deathly glare from Luna.

Luna turned around, intending to retrieve Mudkip's Pokeball and return her before she heard Adam call out.

"I wouldn't do that just yet if I were you,"

Luna swung back round to glare at him some more before Mudkip caught her attention. Instead of the electric blue colour Mudkip usually was, she was white. Pure light, it seemed. Her shape seemed to be changing. She grew slightly taller, two fins protruding from her rear instead of one and she now stood on two legs instead of four. Determination seemed to radiate from the new form of Mudkip, her eyes set on the Staraptor.

"What?" Was all Luna could say before her newly evolved Pokemon turned around to face her.

"Marshtomp! Marshtomp, Marsh!" She yelled, turning back to face her opponent.

"Looks like your Mudkip evolved to help you battle more evenly," Adam said, shrugging.

"Won't make no difference to the outcome of this battle. Staraptor, wing attack again!"

"Uh, Marshtomp is it? Water gun!"

Marshtomp's water gun was filled with much more power and much more speed than when she was a Mudkip. The Staraptor was faster still, hitting Marshtomp with it's power before she could complete the attack. It wasn't long though 'till Staraptor was forced to land with the on-going water blasting in it's face.

"Yay Marshtomp!" Luna cried, before thinking again of attacks. "Use Mud shot!"
Marshtomp was slightly quicker this time with shooting the mud, half blinding the Staraptor temporarily.

    "Now take down!"

Luna watched as Adam developed a grave look on his face. The Staraptor could not see with the mud in it's eyes. Marshtomp headed straight for the big bird, jumping just in time to attack her opponent.

    "Staraptor use close combat!"

Luna had never heard of that attack, pausing for a moment to wonder what it was. That moment, Luna should not have stopped though, for with Marshtomp in such close range of Staraptor, she was unable to avoid the attack.

Marshtomp was thrown backwards, landing infront of Luna. Dazed and unable to get back up, Luna dropped beside her Pokemon, gently touching the bent fin on her head before she glared at Staraptor.

"Man, that was harsh. Sorry Mud, uh, I mean Marshtomp," Luna whispered, before grabbing Marshtomp's Pokeball, returning her to rest. "It ain't over yet," Luna continued, as her eyes flickered between Trapinch's Pokeball that lie in rest near her bag and Butterfree who hovered in the air behind her.

Luna hastily reached for Trapinch's Pokeball, not wanting to pit Butterfree against the Staraptor because of type weaknesses. The bird would rip her Butterfree apart, she was sure.

Once the small ground type had materialised infront of her, he turned around to face his trainer. Trapinch's eyes lit up before he started jumping on the spot, wiggling his legs in the air. He was obviously happy to see Luna.

"Trapinch, I need you to battle well for me! I know we haven't battled together yet but I'm counting on you!" Luna told the happy Pokemon.

Trapinch very suddenly became focused on his target before running towards the resting Staraptor, gaining speed as he hurtled towards the big bird. Luna's palm landed on her cheek as she sighed, highly embarressed that her new Pokemon had sped off without any direction from his trainer. Trapinch did very effectively manage to use Crunch on the Staraptor's wing though, infuriating both Staraptor and Adam. Trapinch hung on to the Staraptor's wing, refusing to let go despite Staraptor's painful attempts to get Trapinch to give in.

It was not long before Adam, in the end, recalled Staraptor. His Pokemon had sustained damage from the previous battle with Marshtomp and the bite from the small Trapinch had pushed it to it's limit. Adam had to admit, there was only so much pain one could take.

Luna, despite the way things had gone, felt proud of Trapinch for thinking quickly. If that's what you called Trapinch's actions.

"You aren't going to get away easily with this one!" Adam called before he released his next Pokemon. Luna groaned, remembering for a second her grumbling stomach. Adam's Pokemon looked very much like a flying scorpion, dark purple in colour.

"Gliscor use Fury Cutter!" Adam wasted no time in ordering attacks. Fast and efficient, his Gliscor delivered the attack with precision. It gave Trapinch no time in which he could react or even escape the Gliscor's grasp. Trapinch got back on it's feet though, intending to make his new trainer proud, no matter how little battle experience he had.

"Trapinch use Sand Attack!" Trapinch kicked up as much sand and dirt as he could, aiming for the Gliscor, who was easily able to dodge any sand that came it's way. It seemed do no good anyway, the Gliscor was still as fast as it could be.

"Gliscor, Night Slash!" Gliscor swooped around Trapinch's attempts to use Sand Attack before using Night Slash across Trapinch's dark orange back. The Trapinch howled in pain, looking towards Luna who thought he looked about ready to cry again before Luna's words of encouragement kept him going.

"It's okay Trapinch! You're doing fine for our first battle!"

Luna tried to put on a brave face for Trapinch who now looked utterly scared of the Gliscor hovering above him. Inside, though, Luna's stomach was doing sommersaults and flips, in fear of her new Pokemon being harmed. Adam's Pokemon wouldn't go to such lengths though, would it?

"Now use Guillotine Gliscor, maybe this will finish it!"

Both Trapinch and Luna were not going to let that happen though. As Trapinch looked to Luna for guidance, his facial expression showing the most scared expression Luna had ever seen on a Pokemon, she waited for the right moment. As she had expected, although Luna had never seen or heard of this attack before, the Gliscor swooped down to close range again, grabbing tightly onto Trapinch's body. Trapinch howled again, obviously crying for real now.

    "Trapinch use Crunch!"

It took a few seconds for the little Pokemon to register what Luna had instructed but soon Trapinch realised he could easily attack. Trapinch bit down hard on Gliscor's scales, not budging for anything. Trapinch could even swear the Gliscor loosened it's grip on his body.

Slowly, with Luna tensed, watching the Pokemon and Adam calling to Gliscor to get the Trapinch off, the Gliscor could not keep hold in the air. It dropped to the ground with a sudden thud. Trapinch let go then, taking a few steps backwards, wincing as he went. Adam, thankfully, returned his Gliscor.

Luna ran up to Trapinch, his Pokeball in her hand. Kneeling down beside him, she picked him up, cradling him in her arms. He was a bit heavy though but Luna smiled at him anyway.

"Great job Trapinch, you did very well, even if all you do is bite others," Luna returned
Trapinch to his Pokeball as she looked at Adam. The look on her face showed nothing but horror when she saw Adam had released yet another Pokemon. His last one was tall, lime green and leafy. It had a determined look in it's eyes, one Luna would rather not mess with. Standing up, Luna backed away from the Pokemon. It was taller than her, she realised. Luna looked to where Butterfree was resting atop her backpack on the ground.

"You up for this Butterfree?" She saw his eyes flicker from herself to the big green monster of a Pokemon. Despite the hesitation, Butterfree took to the air.

"Sceptile, bullet seed," Adam seemed casual enough.

Tiny bullets flew through the air at high speed, nearly all of them hitting Butterfree one after the other. Knocked down, Butterfree looked extremely angry all of a sudden. Luna had to shield herself from the attack, a couple of seeds pinging her arms, leaving small bruises almost instantly.

    "Use Confusion Butterfree!"

Butterfree's attack came quickly after Butterfree could move away from his opponent who was still shooting seeds. The beams of light headed straight for Sceptile, who got a full frontal attack from the little bug. Sceptile seemed only slightly dazed, shaking his head and blinking a couple of times.

    "Use Leaf Storm Sceptile!"

That didn't sound good to Luna. Indeed, she could only grit her teeth and watch. Sceptile, feet planted securely on the ground, tensed. All too suddenly, leaves were blowing around the clearing. Butterfree was shaken and thrown around, repeatedly sliced by leaves.

    "How can leaves be lethal?"
Luna thought to herself, worried for Butterfree.

Once the leaves had cleared, called off by the Sceptile, she found Butterfree lying in a fragile heap on the ground. This Pokemon was by far more powerful than all of her Pokemon combined, though that thought to Luna would make for an interesting battle, despite being against the rules. Luna found Butterfree's Pokeball before she returned him.

Wondering if Butterfree could still hear her inside the Pokeball, she whispered "You did a good job Butterfree, thankyou."

She hoped that her three Pokemon wouldn't be to disappointed in their defeat. Adam was, after all, a much stronger battler than herself.

Luna watched Adam return his Sceptile before approaching her.

"You battled well Luna, but don't beat yourself for that. This was just for practice." Adam begins. "But even for practice, you battled very well. I'm going to have to put in a good word about you to Selene." He smiles. "Come on, we must get back to the base."

And with that odd finish, Luna grabbed her belongings before following Adam down the mountain, maintaining a whole new level of respect for her opponent and respect for her Pokemon who had fought so well. If only she knew a bit more about battling...

Finally, Damian saw Selene's expression change out of what he deemed concentration mode. She smiled, and nodded her head at him almost as if she were impressed. Damian eyed her warily, not trusting the impressed look. "It seems you have gotten stronger through that course." Damian wanted to scoff and roll his eyes. That so called course had made him feel rather horrible, and had given him more than a few bumps and bruises. "But that wasn't the end of the course, friend. There's still me." Damian had time to blink before she tossed another Pokeball and, in a flash of light that Damian felt sure to be his doom, and Infernape appeared.

"Oh great," Damian muttered, glancing at Charmeleon. Charmeleon seemed to be thinking along the same lines as Damian. "Charmeleon, stay back as far as you can. If it comes near you, go for a slash attack," Damian commanded straightaway, figuring that he'd like to at least make a dent on the stupid monkey. "As for now, just use ember!"

    "Flamethrower," Selene stated.

Damian blanched as he watched the small burst of flame shoot out of Charmeleon's mouth and head straight for Infernape. At least, it was small in comparison to the enormous flamethrower that launched itself out of the Infernape's mouth seconds later. Before the ember could even reach Infernape, it was swallowed by the flamethrower that shot towards Charmeleon in less than five seconds. Charmeleon didn't even have time to dodge as the attack slammed into him, knocking him back and sending him skidding across the top of the mountain. Rhyhorn nudged Damian's leg with his horn lightly, attempting to shove him out of his shock. Damian couldn't believe that the Infernape had just done that.

"Charmeleon...u...use...fire spin," Damian said slowly, having some difficulties processing the situation.

    "Flare Blitz."

As soon as the attack was commanded, Damian felt his stomach drop to the floor. He cursed the monkey silently as Charmeleon shot the spiraling flame out of his mouth. The Infernape seemed to be like liquid. It slipped through the fire easily and then broke into a bright burning flame that wrapped around its entire form. Charmeleon quickly cut off his fire spin attack, and got his claws ready for a slash. Seconds later the Infernape slammed into Charmeleon. Somehow, Charmeleon managed to slash its claws down across the Infernape's snout, though it barely reached and did any damage. Infernape finally put its entire force into the attack, and then Charmeleon was catapulted away from Infernape and into a boulder. The thud was almost sickening to Damian's ears.

Damian didn't have to look to know that Charmeleon had just been finished. He silently grabbed Charmeleon's Pokeball and returned him, feeling his face burn with shame and embarrassment. Rhyhorn nudged his leg again, looking at him with curious eyes. Damian stared at Rhyhorn for a moment, hearing footsteps walk closer. Not wanting to seem like a big sensitive push over, Damian grinned at Rhyhorn and then smoothed out his expression to look Selene in the eye.

"You did well, for a beginner," Selene commented. Then, in the blink of an eye, she pressed the button of a Pokeball at her belt and a Salamence appeared. It roared, apparently happy to be free of the small Pokeball, and then looked at Selene obediently. Selene recalled Infernape and was about to get on the Salamence, when her gaze drifted to Rhyhorn. "He likes you very well," she observed softly, staring at Rhyhorn. Rhyhorn blinked at her and then scooted closer to Damian.

"Yeah, I suppose so," Damian agreed.

Selene then brought out a Pokeball and tossed it at Rhyhorn, who stood there and didn't struggle a bit. The Pokeball hardly shook, but finally stopped. "Here," she said, picking up the Pokeball and handing it to him. "Rhyhorn is yours now, that's what he wanted."

Damian eyed Rhyhorn's Pokeball for a moment and then took it from her silently. "Thanks," he finally muttered after tucking the ball on his belt with his other two Pokemon.

"Let's go," Selene ordered, nodding towards the Salamence. Damian followed her and climbed on the Salamence after she did. "Hang on," Selene stated simply. Damian nodded, tightening his legs around the Salamence's body and gripping at its scales. Moments later, they were off in the direction of the base. The fly was short, and soon Damian was hopping off. He was about to leave, when Selene said, "Get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow's the next beginning."

Damian wondered vaguely what she meant, but in the end he shrugged it off.

    Start of Day 2

    Time Is Running Out (PG13)

    1 post

You wake up the next day with your partner sleeping peacefully next to you. You look around your own dorm and you see a uniform on the small desk with a small note with a picture of an Infernape like the one above. The note reads…

    Dear –your name here-;

You have battled incredibly well and from what I can see, your team trusts you. My captains and I have come to the decision that you, alone, will travel the region in which you came from and take down the teams and calm the legendaries. However, if you ever need help, and at times you will, there is a button on the uniform (which is also the Team Euro badge) where it will contact me or my captains and we will come to your aid.

Much is in store for you, my friend. Not just a history in Team Euro, but your region will look upon you as a hero. In hope, you'll also befriend many Pokemon, strengthening your team. That's how my journey went when I was your age.

Now, onto your bag which lies next to the uniform - Inside it contains some special items as well as $5000. It can be used to purchase necessary items such as food, medicine, Pokeballs, etc.

Now, get ready, my friend. Use the bathroom in your dorm and get ready for you'll be heading to your region today. Meet me and my captains in the main room and we'll tell you more on your missions.

    Sincerely,
    Team Euro Leader Selene

After reading the letter, you get ready and put the uniform on. On the uniform you see a symbol and it awes you. This is what it resembles:

    Time Is Running Out (PG13)

After that, you set the Pokeballs with your team on your belt and walk out with your partner at your side. You walk until you're in the main room and you see the others there. Selene steps forward and speaks, "There is no more time for training. It is time for you'll to go to your regions. Outside, some of our other members will fly you to your region. We will call you whenever we need to. A microphone is installed in your uniform and your badge will flash if one of us is calling. To answer, you just have to press the badge."

Selene walks towards the doors you once entered and gestures for you to follow. Outside, waiting are four other members with Salamences at their sides. She points to each Salamence and says the region each was going to. "Good luck."

You go over to the Team Euro member and the Salamence and you get on with them, and then fly off to your region. You end your post with you thinking of what your region will be like now…

Damian was feeling much better than he had the previous day, though he could feel stiffness settling in his joints as his eyes fluttered open. He was also pleasantly surprised to find Charmeleon sleeping next to him. Damian grunted and rolled over onto his back, wincing when the back of his tender head slightly hit the headboard. Charmeleon stirred silently, and then Damian saw him stretch and lift his head up. Damian grinned and patted Charmeleon on his head. Charmeleon grunted and sat up fully on the bed, careful of the flame of his tail. Damian sighed and glanced around the room, finally deciding to sit up.

With a grunt, Damian sat up cross legged in his bed. Charmeleon had hopped off the bed and was now shaking himself. Damian yawned and took a better look around the room. Damian was surprised to see a pile of clothes that looked rather like a uniform on the desk opposite of the bed. He slipped off the covers and got up, stretching his sore joints and then padding over to the desk. He picked up the note that had a picture of an Infernape on it, and began to read.

In the end, Damian wound up reading the note sitting on his bed again. He hand one hand clutching the note and the other pressed to his knee. Charmeleon watched silently, waiting for Damian to finish reading and state what was going to happen next. Damian shut the note when he had finished, and thought about what to do first. Obviously he was going to get ready, but Damian was thinking in terms of his bathroom. He let out a slow breath of air and handed the note to Charmeleon, pushing off from the bed once more.

"I'm going to go shower and do all of that stuff. I don't think you'll want to come," Damian commented. "So just hang out for a little bit, and try not to burn something down." Damian grinned at Charmeleon lightly, grabbed the uniform, and then walked off into the bathroom.

He exited about twenty minutes later, dressed in his new uniform and tugging at the sleeves. The uniform felt odd on him, though Damian wasn't quite sure why. Eventually he just gave up with the fabric and shoved his old clothes in his pack. He paused when he noticed some symbol on the uniform, and wound up staring at it for a bit. It looked rather interesting, and Damian had to admit that he liked the design of the symbol...thing. Shaking his head, Damian snapped out of his little trance and then went about completing his uniform. By that, he slipped his team's Pokeballs on his belt and then looked at Charmeleon.

    "Ready to go?" Damian questioned.

    "Char," Charmeleon stated, nodding.

"...Do you know where we're going?" Damian questioned, once they had arrived outside of the room. Charmeleon simply rolled his eyes and walked off in a direction, Damian trailing along behind him.

It didn't take long for Charmeleon to lead Damian to a rather large room. Damian could only guess that this was the main room, because he noticed that he wasn't the only one there with their partners. Damian, however, chose to slip off to a more alone place along the wall and lean against it, Charmeleon at his feet. Apparently they had all assembled, because that was when Selene took her time to step forward. She looked rather serious. Damian found himself crossing his arms.

"There is no more time for training. It is time for you to go to your regions. Outside, some of our other members will fly you to your region. We will call you whenever we need to." Damian's eyebrow rose at the final comment, wondering how that would work. Apparently, Selene was going to explain this. "A microphone is installed in your uniform and your badge will flash if one of us is calling. To answer, you just have to press the badge." Damian glanced down at the symbol on his clothing, sort of amused to find that it was actually more useful than just to identify who they "worked for". Damian held back a snicker. It made him sound like he was in the mafia.

That was when Selene headed over to the doors that Damian remembered. He had once entered through those doors. He stared at them with silent regard, at least until Selene gestured for them to follow along. He trailed in along behind the rest, eyeing the four people outside with Salamence at their sides. Damian glanced at Selene, who was listing off the dragons and where it was going. He headed over to the one that was going to Kanto. He heard Selene say something along the lines of luck as he went, but Damian had sort of blocked it out. He glanced down at Charmeleon, who looked rather determined.

Damian hopped on behind the Euro member, dragging Charmeleon up to seat himself between the rider and Damian. Damian glanced at the ground as they took off, watching the people get smaller and smaller and wondering what his region looked like now.

It didn't take long for Luna to fall asleep the previous night, for she was utterly exhausted. It did, however, take her a while to wake up the next morning. It wasn't the best time to be sleeping in with the world in the state it was in.

Luna awoke finally as the sun streamed in through the blinds, warm on her face. As Luna finally came to, her brain registering where she was and what situation she was in, she immediately forced herself to wake up properly. Things had gone relatively well for Luna so far, despite being forced to travel through the blindingly dark tunnel and being challenged to battle by Adam. She'd caught two new Pokemon and her Mudkip had evolved. All in all, she was quite content with what was happening and was willing to continue to explore Valorie. That would not be the case though.

"Morning Marshtomp," Luna said lazily as she turned over in the comfortable bed, propping herself up with her elbows. Marshtomp, her eyelids still drooping, had slept beside her trainer that night. Feeling refreshed, Marshtomp was ready to take on the world again. After a little more sleep, ofcourse. It was not long before Luna noticed the clean and crisp uniform on the desk, accompanied by a letter.

Slightly confused and curious, Luna slid out of bed, covering Marshtomp in the blanket as she went. Admiring the Team Euro uniform, Luna ran her fingers over the material, not believing it to be hers. She then reached for the letter, reading in silence. Her facial expressions gave everything away as she read, Marshtomp becoming as curious as her trainer, who in the end made her way off the bed to Luna's side.

"We're going back to Hoenn!" At Luna's sudden outburst Marshtomp grinned at her trainer. "And Marshtomp, Selene thought we battled well!"
Rushing around, Luna grabbed the uniform, still trying to be remotely careful with it as she made her way to the bathroom to shower and change. She emerged fifteen minutes later, smoothing down the creases in the arms of the uniform that fitted her perfectly. She looked to Marshtomp for approval, receiving it after a couple of seconds from Marshtomp who's big smile made Luna feel glad she had her as a partner. Things would be a lot harder without her.

Whilst she was changing, Marshtomp had taken the courtesy of scavenging through the contents of the bag Luna had been given. She'd also gone through Luna's old things, transferring items and clothing as best she could, taking care with Butterfree and Trapinch's Pokeballs. Luna attached both the Pokeballs and Marshtomp's empty one onto her belt.

"You ready to go?" Luna asked her partner, who nodded in reply. In the small silence, Marshtomp's stomach rumbled loudly, which made Luna laugh. "Maybe there will be food in the main room?"

Luna took one last look at her small dorm room, convinced she had everything before the pair headed off for the main room. Luna wasn't surprised to see the other trainers she'd briefly met before she'd headed out on the routes of Valorie. She nodded to each of them, Marshtomp doing the same to their partners who accompanied them. Luna smiled once she saw Selene and grinned at Adam who returned her smile with a friendly smirk.

"There is no more time for training," As Selene started to speak, Luna tried hard to focus and listen, remembering the last time she'd endured a speech from Selene. "It is time for you to go to your regions. Outside, some of our other members will fly you to your region. We will call you whenever we need to. A microphone is installed in your uniform and your badge will flash if one of us is calling. To answer, you just have to press the badge."

So that was what that badge was for. Luna briefly stared down at the badge stuck to her uniform, regretting pushing the badge several times before as she'd changed. Oh well, she thought. I didn't know what it was for before now.

Luna, Marshtomp and the other trainers were soon following Selene outside. Luna was blown away when they encountered not one, but several large blue and red dragon Pokemon all waiting as patiently as they could, ready to take them to their home regions. As Selene instructed the other trainers to which Salamence would take them to their designated regions, Luna waited quietly, gathering Marshtomp into her arms. Marshtomp was undeniably heavy since she'd evolved.

"Luna, you'll be flying on that Salamence," Selene pointed her towards one of the dragon Pokemon. Luna hesitantly edged towards it, receiving a smile from it's trainer who stood next to it. "Good luck."

"Looks like we can't eat properly just yet Marshtomp,"

Riding a Salamence was the last thing Luna thought she would do, let alone even get near one of these majestic and powerful Pokemon. But she was riding one, headed towards her homeland. On the way there, making sure she kept a firm arm around Marshtomp who was seated infront of her, Luna started to think about Hoenn. She hoped she'd make it to Lavaridge Town, where her family were currently residing to show them Marshtomp, Butterfree and Trapinch. She was sure they'd be proud of her. If she had time, Luna thought briefly about trying her hand at contests. They'd be fun, Luna remembering the one time her mother took herself and her brothers to watch a contest when they used to live in Slateport city, before the flooding started. Sighing, Luna hoped with all her heart that things would be the same once more.
