6th Gen Too generous with Exp??

    Too generous with Exp?? THIS IS *NOT* ABOUT EXP SHARE!

    Okay, admittedly the last time I played Pokemon was the Ruby/Saphire days but I distinctly remember that when you had multiple pokemon in battle, the exp was divided amongst all the pokemon that participated, but just now when I fought a furfrou and had to switch in 3 different pokemon (all my pokemon were of low level) and ALL THREE got 235 exp points after battle, which is the same amount when ONE pokemon fights the same level furfrou in battle. So when did pokemon change the formula where all the pokemon that participated in battle get the same amount of expereince instead of the experience getting divided up between all teh pokemon?

    I'd be fine with it if we unlocked the exp share after beating the pokemon league. Getting this new and improved exp share right after the first gym makes it ridiculously easy to build a team and beat the game. You don't even have to try.
     
    I believe it was this generation in this current game that it was introduced. The last game in the series I played was ruby too, so I'm not too sure.
     
    I'm okay with it. Sometimes, in previous games, things got to feel a little grindy with running around in the same patches of grass trying to level up my team. Now, I don't have to do it as much, so it doesn't take away from the flow of the gameplay and the story.
     
    I'm quite fond of this change, to be honest. It made training ten-times easier for us. Thanks to it, I've been able to keep all my Pokémon at a balanced level throughout the entire gameplay… for the first time ever. :b Those who don't like it may always disable it, since we have an option for that. If it were me, though, I'd keep it the way it is and not turn it off.
     
    I agree with Introvert. Giving us the item after beating the League would have been fine. It levels your Pokemon very quickly right off the bat. Before I started the game I heard people talking about it, which is why I did not use it. As soon as I got it, I turned it off. I like to level each of my Pokemon and I have played a lot of RPGs and MMOs over the years so, I'm used to the whole grinding thing. The only EXP booster I use occasionally, is the Lucky Egg item.
     
    i personally liked it, because then i could train all of my pokemon pretty easily, and its much easier to level up weaker poekmon to their evolution levels without actually having to take away exp from other pokemon as well.
     
    I agree with Nymphadora. If people don't like it they can just urn it off. I've played all the regular pokemon games and the 2 prior to this ended up frustrating me after I beat the Elite 4 because EVERYONE is 20 lvls higher than them. This makes things grind heavy and too hard to grind at the same time. So having an experience share like this helps me not get so frustrated.
     
    I honestly really liked the new way the experience share is used in X/Y and the amount of experience you can get after battles (and catching pokemon). It did make things easy to the point where once I reached the Elite 4 all my pokemon were 10 or more levels above theirs, but that was of little concern to me.
    It actually let me have more fun, I could enjoy the battles, story, and other extra things to do in the game without worrying about keeping my team equally leveled and on par with the game's pokemon.
    Besides, I remember the tedious and annoying grinding back in the older generations where every single pokemon you would beat would just give you half a millimeter of experience on your bar... annoying and frustrating to say the least, I do not miss it at all. Who wants to waste an hour trying to get their pokemon to level up just once?
     
    Okay, a lot of people are talking about the Exp Share, I'm not talking about that item at all. I'm talking about the NORMAL amount of experience that you get when battling pokemon. Exp Share is OFF, but you fight a pokemon with 1 pokemon (let's say a lv 10 Furfrou who gives 235 Exp points) when you battle that furfrou with 1 pokemon, that 1 pokemon gets 235 Exp points. When you fight it again and trade in 3 pokemon, ALL THREE pokemon get 235 Exp points, whereas previously, fighting 1 pokemon that gave you 235 Exp points with 1 pokemon would give it the full amount. Switching in two pokemon would divide that expereince from the same battle to 117 Exp points, and more pokemon that switched in the more the experience would get divided. Not to mention you get experience from capturing pokemon now too. I do agree with people that it makes grinding a lot less boring, but I don't think I like this mechanic. If you switch in all 6 pokemon into battle they all get the same amount of experience? I liked it better when experience got divided up.
     
    i think it's for the non hardcore players who don't like spending 100+ hours playing it. I always got bored training up my team, or trying to get a specific pokemon to evolve. now more people can enjoy it as a whole

    Eh, my previous post still kind of applies. I prefer the fact that the experience each pokemon gets is the same as when just one pokemon battles. Makes training easier and removes the unnecessary, time-consuming, and plain annoying grinding.
     
    I found it incredibly easy to gain exp, even without the exp. share. It was rather disappointing too, considering that that then made the game really easy. What also didn't help with the games level of difficulty was the fact that the Elite Four only had four Pokemon; but we'll sacve that discussion for another time.
     
    They probably just wanted a game everyone can pick up and play, it's about that time for a whole new generation to start catching them all. Maybe down the line they'll put in difficulty or something, tougher AI's, limited exp, etc. All games are stepping stones to something greater.
     
    lol i get people like grinding and doing things the hard way, but we're moving toward the generations of convenient gamers. personally, i love all of the extra experience they're throwing at us. my pokemon are all 2-5 levels apart from each other and it makes it to where i have no weak links. all thumbs up on my side
     
    I find this annoying personally. While i understand grinding can be boring, they went way too far by introducing this new mechanic. I mean, my Pokemon were all over lv.70 by the time i faced the Elite Four o.O The Audinos from the previous generation already provided the perfect solution imo.
     
    well by that logic, why bother with levels at all? Why not just have maxed out stats as soon as you get a pokemon? And I'm not saying that I WANT to grind and do things "the hard way" it's just that I go around catching all these pokemon, spend MINUTES fighting other trainers, and I get to a gym and I'm almost double the level of the gym leaders pokemon. How is that fun when practically 0 effort nets you a gain so much higher than the bosses?

    i say "the hard way" because i never grinded in any pokemon games. I always tried using type advantages to beat my opponents. I think I speak for everyone when I say Whitney's miltank WAS SO ANNOYING
     
    There are advantages to a buttload of EXP like that for a single battle when you're anal about keeping all six pokemon on the same exact level all at once (save for trade pokemon that get a boost)
    I think this game was the easiest to level up in and have an extremely over leveled team by the time it was time to face the Elite Four
