    Hi Guys

I've only been hacking a couple of weeks but I've run into a problem which will seriously change the way I am making my rom.

Is there a maximum number of person event sprites that can be shown on each map?

The issue I have had is that it seems once I get up to around 10 or so sprites on the 1 map, new sprites that I add seem to not appear at all once I play test the rom. Is there a maximum, or is this a generally known glitch? Even when i make exact copies of sprites which are working and appearing, those copies still don't seem to appear.

    Thanks.

Ive never encountered a problem like this. Im pretty sure you can have as many as you would like!

Make sure that the sprite is not "hidden"

Nah thats not the issue. I have tried copying sprites I know work and the copies wont appear, the only thing i've been able to do is delete and copy sprites until they appear properly. so this seems to be something happening only to me? seems weird.

Make sure they all have unique person IDs in A-map. While there is a limit, it's definitely much higher than 10.

ok, I haven't bothered changing the id's, they're all just 0000. I didn't think it mattered unless you were using them for a show/hidesprite script. Like i said though some work and then identical copies don't, and since they have the same id this wouldn't seem to be the issue unless there's something i don't know about (very possible).

on another note, would a script hiding person id 1111 on another map also hide person id 1111 on this map? obviously I would need to be careful with id numbers if that's the case.

based on my experience in hacking Ruby, yes, there is a limit. i believe a map should not have more than 20 NPCs.

there's also a limit of NPCs the game can display on your emulator screen. i forgot how many, but there is.
