Suggestion: Trade Corner for HGSS OR Forum Prefix

    It's hard to tell what threads are for DPPT and which are for HGSS without clicking on the threads in the Trade Corner.

    I suggest a new sub-forum for HGSS, or more simply, add forum prefixes like the Feedback Forum has.

    The prefixes would therefore be:

    DPPT:

    HGSS:

    as to make forum-surfing easier.

    Prefix would be mandatory or the thread title would be editted by a moderator :<

    I do realize that you can trade between both HGSS and DPPT freely, but sometimes, the thread poster only has one game (let's say, SoulSilver) and they don't want people demanding HGSS Pokemon for whatever reason.

    Just a thought.
     
    Yeah, they're not entirely different, but I was thinking for when you surf and you want a Pokemon specifically from DPPT or HGSS that's unavailable in one region (like Raikou) or by event. It'd probably be easier looking for an HGSS-based thread if you're wanting Shiny Raikou, although it is possible to be traded to DPPT.

    A forum prefix would be nice for when you're searching for a Pokemon specifically available in Sinnoh or Johto/Kanto, or even an item, such as apricorns. Although someone with DPPT could have that Pokemon, if you're looking for Entei it's more friendly to look for HGSS-based ones first, and for an Uxie, DPPT. If the person is offering Pokemon from both games, then perhaps no forum prefix or a prefix named "Mixed" or something of the sort. It's unfriendly to be looking for a Johto Pokemon and having to surf through the Shiny Events, Shinies, etc. DPPT-based threads, since most threads in the Trade Corner are DPPT-based (having been around longer).

    It's the same data regardless of where you trade it from - why does that need to be specified?

    If you ask for a Shiny Miltank, it could be given from a DPPt Game as well as a HG/SS Game. There's no point.

    I'm sorry, I don't see your point. It wouldn't make a difference.
     
    As said, it's an idea. For people who want to trade and only have one of the games (either HGSS or DPPT), they can clarify it in their topic with a prefix, and people surfing who are desiring HGSS Pokemon in specific (i.e. Raikou, Entei, Lugia) can see threads they can find them in easier. It'd be easier than sorting through the threads in that section that are 99% DPPT-based and most wouldn't be offering HGSS-specific Pokemon, like Ho-oh. They'd be moreso offering Shiny Palkias and Uxies and such, and rooting through them for the HGSS specific legendaries / shinies / Pokemon would be a pain in the butt. That forum's so cluttered with DPPT that it'd take forever to figure out which threads are offering certain HGSS Pokemon.

    It's moreso for the HGSS-based legendaries than anything that I suggest this.
     
    As far as I know, a Machamp caught in Fire Red and migrated to HGSS is identical to a Machamp caught in Sinnoh to a Machamp caught in Johto, and a Lugia caught in HG and sent to Diamond is identical to the XD one (save for attacks and stuff but they are so easy to customize that it doesn't really make a big difference nowadays).

    And I swear you can catch Johto pokémon in FR/LG/Emerald/Colosseum/XD and migrate them all to HGSS. The only exclusive stuff are the Apricorn Balls- and you can get them for free in your game :(

    I mean, people have been trading Raikous/Ho-oh's for years. Searching for "Lugia" in the Trade Corner gave me 21 threads last posted today as a result :(

    Just wait for a bit, until everybody has HGSS. Then they will be even more common than they already are.
     
    Maybe we can think of something to rename the Diamond & Pearl prefix so that it encompasses all the main DS games, then. It would be a bit more user-friendly than just having D&P, at the very least. :/
