Trade Corner Suggestion Thread

Well then there should still be a hack check thread with rules requiring people to hack check by doing what you're saying.

Attention PC, I'm sorry if I have to tell you all this, but I'm afraid we just can't rely on trading with players. I've heard other players on PC and other sites were having problems getting hacked pokemon from players who are hackers and so have I. If we can't rely on other players, then we should stop trading or think first before we trade. Trading with your friends and others is fun but trading is not always a good option. So when Pokemon heartgold and soulsilver comes in the US, I suggest that we all start capturing and breeding our own pokemon. Cause sometimes we're just gonna have to get our own pokemon even though it's not easy.

I think we, as a community, need to start cracking down on hacks. This place is flooded with them; ~RNC~ has about 5 hacks that I noticed just by reading through her thread, nevermind the ones that were hacked legitly. Those caught trading hacks should be banned.

Neptune is exacty right. However, Just because people, like RNC, are offering hacked pokemon, doesn't mean they are hackers, cause people like RNC are probably victums. So we should help them and teach them to be aware of those who trade hacks. Cause we all don't want to be rude and hateful like the smogoners. If we all want to make PC a friendly site, we should give people chances and help them. And if we all want to make this site reliable like smogon, we have to breed and capture pokemon without relying on trading with other players cause there are other players who want to hack, cheat, and rip you off.

Kudo: In my experience, the GTS Video Uploader is a poor hack checker, lmao. Then again, legit.exe (aka legal.exe) apparently does not check if a Legendary was caught in the grass or at its proper place, nor whether if a shiny code was used. I would have to tinker with it all more, though. You are so right; nothing is really perfect, but surely we can try, or just have fun, since Pokemon is a game, afterall.

Greene1516: Why meet on Wifi for that...? Could they not post the information on the Quick Questions and ask about a Pokemon's legitimacy? Unless you mean like, someone is trading and is carrying around a shiny Charizard with Surf for fun, thus raising suspicion... Well, idk, they can hack their game if they want to, honestly. Their life, lmao.

Oh, the point of proper hack checking is to check UNSEEN values. Thus, the hack checker needs to have the actual Pokemon, or at least a file version of it. Unless I am terribly mistaken about the community's average IQ, I think that most traders can realize that a Torterra caught on route 209 or a Mew with a National Ribbon are hacked. Google is everyone's friend. :(

I do not believe that those "caught" should be banned, but after 3 different instances/infractions, then yes, they are most likely banned, unless things have changed. I think the first infraction is a good wake up call, anyways.

Syndrome: IMO we need that hacked pokemon list updated badly.

Winner.

Wait when the crap did we get one.

EDIT: also We dont hgave one so yeah, we need one.

On the Events List, I started a hacked OT list and had another tips (I can probably add in anything about an illegal IV combination now)... I asked to update it, but CME never got around to it, I guess. I bet that the mods have plans, but it's been a year since it has been touched, lol.

Okay, thats EVENTS

We need one for regular pokemon and legendaries. that could be like this

Pokemon:
OT/ID:
Location:
Date Found:

IMO that would work better than just OT names.

Juupton, thats only 3 people and one fron gamefaqs....PC needs its on banlist, and not to rely on an outside source for one.

Seriously dude??? You know that every Pokemon isn't obtainable in each game, and that some people can't make it to events, others can't grasp the EV'ing process, others don't have the right tools for breeding, and so on. These are only a few of the numerous reasons why trading is essential to any good trainer.

I mean this is a huge overreaction dude, people get hacked across the net all the time. Firstly, what happens to people on other sites has nothing to dowith PC. Also, if you don't want to trade with anybody because there are hackers out there then go ahead and don't do it, but making a mission to tell everyone else not to is a bit ridiculous. In that same vein, there are thieves out in the real world who would gladly take your possesions at gunpoint, so should we all sta loed in our houses, 'cause getting shot for money actually matters? (extreme I know, but you get the point).

Bottom, don't overreact over a simply resolved trivial matter.

I understand. But I wasn't saying that we should stop trading. I mean I do like trading just as much as everyone does, but I was just trying to get the people to be careful.

Juupton I do agree completly with Greene on this one...I mean just because you might not like trading doesn't mean everyone else hates it as well...

Also, IMO we shouldn't get permabaned for trading hacks, maybe a months ban or suspend our threads for a certain amount if time. Everyone cant be sure if a legit looking poke they got in a trade is hacked or not, and like blade dad ts only a kids game :/

Why not just have the hackers Thread locked? If a person is trading hacks lock there Thread and make it so they cant make a new one simple as that...
Seriously though this place is full of hacks RNC the little fairy giveawayer has about 20 hacks in her TGhread that she said she has "checked" hack checks are not 100% reliable and i have even told her about 10 of her pokemon have illegal IV Combinations.... Nothing has been done about hacks on this site so i give up on it theres no point anymore :/

I understand and I do agree with what you and greene are saying but I like trading just as much as all of you do, but I'm just saying that we should be careful and be aware of those who hack. Because we all hate hacks, don't we?

But how will we know who is a haker and who isnt without a blacklist

Yes exactly...so I would like to see some sort of list implemented in the near future.
