    sooo

Just dawned on me that Ash-greninja is in S/M...
there's a poster of 'Ash' and Pikachu in the haunted supermarket...

Is Ash gonna be in future games?

This has shown that he is recognized as a character, so where from here?

As we discussed when Ash-Greninja's existence in the Sun & Moon demo was first announced, I believe Ash to be an easter egg, nothing more. Seeing as Red is his equivalent from the games, that would be pretty weird. The games and anime also clearly don't follow the same canon, so I don't see them being merged in any way tbh.

And I really dislike Ash, so... don't want him in the games at all. I can't stand him.

    haha I'd love to sweep his team though {XD}

But its just that the greninjas OT is Ash and that he's on the poster I thought there would be much more to it?

and I agree because even though Red and Ash have a lot of differences that defines them, how would it work with Blue (in game) a.k.a Green (manga) a.k.a Gary (anime) who's already in the games ?

Can't see it happening but it kinda seems like they're leaning towards that idea gradually. If the latest movie is anything to go by then I wouldn't be all that surprised if we eventually saw Ash in a future game.

It's kinda weird cause I really feel like Ash is not part of the game canon, and that he's just an easter egg. But like Blue said, it's really unlikely but with how Pokemon has been going nowadays I don't think it's completely out of the question, even if Red is his game equivalent.

How would Ash exist in the same universe as Red, though?

episode 360 "Lights, Camerupt, Action!" featured the red from the pocket monsters manga as one of ash's favorite films.
    Spoiler:

also Ritchie is a red counter part as well.
    Spoiler:

    then we have...
    arnold from Hypno's Naptime
    Spoiler:

    travis
    Spoiler:

and lets not forget that the anime had jimmy and ethan, 2 gold counterparts
    Spoiler:

    Spoiler:

then there's princess salvia from Dawn of a Royal Day! whom i think might have been based on plantina from the adventures manga
    Spoiler:

    team righteous
    Spoiler:

    the other max
    Spoiler:

but with the games, it's possible there is an ash out there, but it sure as hell ain't the same ash as the one in the anime.
    same thing with allen.

Am I the only person who doesn't think its weird if Ash and Red were in the same game??

Ash and Red are different characters with similair pokemon and storyline, but are different. Green/Blue/ Gary are extremely similar, even more so than Ash/Red.

How Richie is compared to Red I don't know?

Like previously said, the hints of Ash in the games are only easter eggs of the anime. If he was to be showcased in the games, he would be already showcased. + What would his team be consisted of & how would he show up? Ash is just too random and complicated to be in the games tbh, + GF would have to make up this whole side-plot of introducing Ash & recreating anime scenes in the game that it would become an anime episode than the actual game. Plus, the anime is focused on Ash while the game is focused on YOU, making the appearance of Ash no where near the game imo.
