Tricker treater shot to death

Its Halloween and the guy who shot the kid said he thought he was "being robbed"?!

whats the word i'm looking for... for something so incredibly pathetic?

this is why I don't take my little sister out trick or treating at night for too long, we go to the mall since its much safer.

"Fail," I believe. And why the heck does an ex-convict have an assault rifle!? Someone's not doing their job somewhere.

I can understand that he was being a bit paranoid. It's acceptable when you've been robbed and shot within the year, but shooting someone without even knowing who it is?

It's Hallowe'en, man. Have some common sense.

Actually, it'd probably be the best night to rob someone. You can walk around wearing a mask and not look suspicious, eople willingly open their doors for people they don't know, and no one is gonna suspect a thing since it's Halloween.

That's insightful and creepy o.O

And if you scream, people won't think anything of it.

Geez...how disturbing. D: That poor kid... The last time I went trick or treating was when I was like 9 or 10. I was tempted to go this year for some reason, but I decided to go to a Halloween party instead.

Hardly anything is safe to do nowadays. :(

Yes, but he hadn't even opened the door. He didn't know who was there. You're meant to expect people on Hallowe'en and yes, it is advised to remain vigilant, but you're meant to have common sense as well. Of all nights, this is the most likely that someone will come knocking at your door. Would you not at least answer it with the rifle in hand instead of shooting through the door?

He needs a reality check.

Hey, I'm not defending this guy, he clearly has issues.

I don't believe his chosen course of action was entirely unjustified, and think he should instead be charged with something like "assault without intent to kill".
I'm assuming he just opened the door or a window partially and blindfired — a very presumptuous action, hardly worth the trouble it incurred. He probably just didn't think about what he was doing; well all do stupid things, and there are time stupid things go too far.

I'd just fine this Patrick at least $100,000 and leave it at that.

Try *facepalm*.

So another kid got shot.
Tons of kid in Africa die of starvation,
and at the same time,
tons of kids in Africa get shot by rebels.
Isn't it funny how when one kid dies in America,
all of a sudden the world stops?
When someone dies in Africa,
they're lucky if they get buried.

That's sad...what kind of person would kill such an innocent child? :(
