Maybe a Team Aqua vs Team Magma? Not quite the same as the legendaries. More like 'land or sea' or 'which outfit do you like more'. Another idea could be Galactic vs Plasma.

There could be a showdown between Pikachu vs Raichu. I genuinely like both, but plenty of people are Pikachu purists, saying it's cuter, the strongest with the light ball and not to mention has the honor of being series mascot. Some of us think Raichu's cute too though, and appreciate it's higher stats and cool Alolan form.

There's room to let the two mice duke it out!

Rapidash vs Ninetales could be a good match up. Both are gen 1 fire types and both have fairy regional variants, so I see them as worthy competition for one another
