I just successfully flashed a custom jellybean ROM to my desire c (after weeks of trying!)
EDIT: the wifi doesn't work, and my recovery has crashed out on me. oh well... Phone-buying time!

You should probably flash back to stock and then maybe try a different ROM before spending money on a new phone.

I'd also advise against any ROMs older than KitKat 4.4.4 because it'll probably have the old Stagefright exploit in it. You don't want to leave your device exposed.

The only Kitkat ROM I can find has got a status 7 bug I'm trying to fix.

EDIT: it was a recovery bug in TWRP. put on philztouch and now CM11 is ready to go!
EDIT EDIT: CM11 is awesome! Hang on, "theme engine"? Looks like I'm going to be spending a lot of time customising this thing...

I'm gonna be that guy and say that I like Carbon ROM about as much as I like CM. I haven't tried out the most recent CMs though so I should probably get on that at some point.

Thing about Android is that google puts a bunch of tracking rubbish inside of it. Android Jellybean seems to be the last good Android that google made alongside the one with the accidentally addition of turning off there monitoring and reporting. It is googles fault why Android will not progress pass 2.22 or so forth. It is a sad thing indeed. Personally my android wants me to create a Googleplay account. It locked my mail applications and every-time I use them, they ask me to update googleplay or something along those lines. I had the perfect mail application.

However an pc running android is a magnificant beast to behold. There is the 3d editors and so forth. Again so much lost from this great os. Doomed to be googles lapdog

I would like to but I am so afraid of "bricking" my device. I know there is a rooting utility. I just want to get rid of the stupid Update update warnings retaining to Googleplay. Some of my applications seems to want me to download from Googleplay but of course you need a google account. I am never going back to google again

I just hope I end up landing this job as a computer tech. I can't exactly stay unemployed, right?

Probably should start thinking about selling my laptop's now-removed SSD (put the hybrid HDD back in, even though it's dog-slow in reality), and buy 64GB flash drives...

Never thought noivern got a froof job, kudos for you.

Anyways, today I just went to the PC service shop for repairing my printer due to catridge failure, I saw a corsair ddr3 for sale and I so exited about it Lel.

Anyways, I should invest abit cash and get new headphone, I just saw one with a price of rm53 , looks like a good stereo headphone and I pretty like the design, way better than investing for beats headphone.

I still have yet to get shortlisted...

Sometimes I wish I could buy DDR3-2400 RAM for my desktop, but nobody stocks them. In addition, nobody stocks that 1TB 7200RPM HGST laptop drive, either.

The 1TB hybrid I was using on my laptop is just barely tolerable...

So long as you avoid unbranded and fake headphones, you should be able to get a good set without paying too much. Shopping for them in a computer store?

But basically it is weird why samsung and apple earphones are freaking expensive. I got this Sonic Gear earphones with only RM 18. Same quality, but with a attractive colour wire. And somehow, thier spare earbuds are compactabile with my earphones which is great for me cuz I always lose them XD.

So I'm heading out to a local secondary school... to get my old computer stuff and batteries recycled. Hmm...

Most of them are broken or obsolete, anyway. I doubt anyone wants to buy shot laptop batteries, or a laptop with a shock hazard/no guts.

So DDR3L-1866 and 2133 chips are a thing.

I wish I could buy them without going online... though I guess DDR3L-1600 sticks are still more than OK enough. Though they're just barely cheaper than DDR3L-1866 RAM...

Haswell and newer Intel platforms, and Kaveri and newer AMD platforms, are bottlenecked by DDR3-1600 CL11 memory, which, well, is also exactly the highest speed "standard" DDR3 goes before it's considered OC RAM. Ideally you want at least DDR3-1866 CL9.

Heh, looks like I need to grab the graphics card from my old desktop tower (the one that had the freezing/bulging capacitor) and put it in my server tower. It doesn't want to run OBS on the internal card, so maybe putting an external card could help with it.

Whatever you do, consider that card dead. Much better to just grab a cheap, but modern video card right now. (the GT 710 should be a good "video only" video card, but I'm going to guess you might want more.)

I just need to get rid of more junk. A busted HDD for recycling and...

Well, selling an SSD, 3 RAM modules, and a DVD drive can go a long way! And maybe my laptop's pre-existing RAM modules, too... why not also think about selling the i5-4590 since I got a taste of overclocking RAM manually and now I want to go the whole hog? I want an i5-4690K and a good cooler now...

Of course it's dead, and it was dead when I got it four years ago. :P

Everything did run better with the card though since external video > internal video, plus I'm not using it for gaming, but to just stream stuff to YouTube.

Can we talk about the crap-fest windows 10 turned out to be?
..currently facing a big problem after the latest system updates and Yes I've turned it off then back on again (about 40 or so times)

Sounds like something wedged big-time. Ouch! Usually if things suddenly go askew after applying updates, first thing to do is probably to try undoing whatever you've done, and try doing them again. (Or reinstall Windows, but that might become quite the hassle.)

It is funky, though. Then again, Windows and updates sometimes cause things to just wedge... seems like there's always a certain hardware combination that causes the update mechanism to be flakier than usual. (for the record, I never encountered issues.)
