Have to download Visual Studio 2012 and Visio 2013 for a class. Oh how fun this will be.

So, I'm going to butt in with something that's been on my mind lately, and something I'm sure many have had to deal with before: terrible ISPs.

Specifically, my parents have had service from an awful company called Consolidated Communications since we moved into our current home. We had hoped to keep our previous ISP, but unfortunately, Consolidated has a monopoly on our entire area. We've tried to find others, but as we are a little bit in the country, that doesn't seem to be possible. There service has usually ranged from "bad" to "mediocre", though recently has become nearly unusable. This happened fairly recently, after I began doing regular YouTube uploads again, and I feel it is an upload speed issue (speed tests show Download speed of 16mbps but an upload speed of only 0.08mbps). Thoughts?

What type of internet service is your family getting to the house? DSL or cable/fiber?

Unfortunately, DSL is very unstable and not the fastest considering it's coming to be a fairly outdated technology(™). DSL service is delivered over copper lines directly and that in turn doesn't allow for the fastest of connectivity, whereas most broadband connections these days are powered by fiber optics.

So I've been thinking of making the backup motherboard do something more useful...

I am utterly that the LGK10 isn't making a big splash in the midrange market. While the 410 is a bit dated, it's still a capable processor. Other then that the phone is a gem. Just got it yesterday and I am in love. The build quality is miles ahead of the plastic junk the Samsung J series is made of,maybe that's what it stands for, and UX is such a lightweight easy to use and look at UI. Camera is average, and I love the less saturated colors on the phones screen, nothing is neon and bright. I am an absolute fan of low saturation,so I cannot get the hate for this department. And again, the plastic chassis is phenomenal, such a sturdy phone.

It really is hideous, hence why I rooted and put a ROM on my Samsung phone as soon as I could.
Some Samsung devices are heavily locked down, though and cannot be rooted/loaded with a custom ROM. I know that the Galaxy 4 tablet I had for a few months (before passing it onto my father) didn't have any custom ROMs available for it, and the most I could do was get TWRP on it and have it rooted.

Speaking of roots, how the hell does one go about flashing the framework for Xposed on lollipop with TWRP? I read the instructions on XDA forums but I am stumped.

Just drop in to post some stuff so Zach won't miss me : ).

So, my dad recently want to buy a new Iphone SE to replace his Iphone 4 cuz it's very slow and kills battery. For me, Iphone SE would be a great idea for him but I wonder Apple company about old phones.

I mean, old phones like Iphone 4 and 4s still able to run smoothly on some apps but why they still do not support those old fellas? I wish they could just introduce ios that capable to run old device smoothly and continuing support for previous generations of Iphones.

The current iPhones barely make it compared to Android phones spec wise, I barely have a clue how people still use the iPhone 4 or 4S. Sure the CPU has always been top of the line, even better then the Snapdragon Equivalents in some ways, but the extremely low amount of RAM Is definitely the thing holding them back. Hell my K10 has 1.5 gigs and I got the phone for 150 euros, at the price current gen iPhones are worth there should easily be 3 or 4 gigs of ram on board.

Well, you made a good point. Iphone does have a small RAM storage, but remember. Iphone is not a multitasking device, even it has switching apps feature but it just freeze the app and begin to operate other apps. So, the RAM storage is absolutely not affecting the performance.

This makes the phone able to efficiently use more RAM on single app rather than multitasking and also saves small battery life as well. It may multitasks, but only applies on notifications or downloading and installing apps which not affects the performance significantly.

So... When it comes to gaming settings decisions, what would you rather have? Screen tearing or input lag? As many of you might know the V-Sync feature forces the game to update screens at the display rate, (FPS) but sometimes add an input lag (Mouse jittering and keyboard input delay). I've been in some situations that this was inevitable, at least I couldn't fix it. I used to go play CoD 2 at a cyber cafe, in these cases I had to turn V-Sync off, otherwise I would've sucked at aiming :P But there are some cases where is ultimately up to preference (Single Player Games). I'm a performance freak, I would sacrifice the last pixel in the screen for a few FPSs more :P How about you?

If NVIDIA has their way, soon, we won't need to pick. No fancy hardware required, either - all you need is a semi-recent NVIDIA card if all the things go right. (Oddly as it sounds, it's not Pascal-specific.)

Screen Tearing for sure. I'd rather have a smaller Twitter here and there then deal with input lag causing me to lose over and over again because the bosses hitbox was altered 2 seconds earlier then the screen showed mr.

Screen tearing gives me headaches though. It's way too visually jarring especially when panning quickly. That's why I like Fast Sync being a thing.

Sure, technology evolves for that reason, to eliminate issues. If we were talking about a hypothetical no solution ever scenario, screen tearing is the lesser of two evils in the end.

Meanwhile in Android land, Ι hope to god the EU K10 gets Marshmallow. Both the T-Mobile/Sprint variation along with the K430DSY for Asia have Marshmallow out of the box, and I'm sitting here with Lollipop. Even the LG Stylus 2 which is the same phone but with a bigger display and a stylus has the Marshmallow update. But yeah, out of the box Marshmallow for 2/3 of the work bar Europe is some bullshit. Totally unacceptable if it never comes, considering how it already exists. I mean, I bought the phone knowing that it comes with Lollipop, and it's a fairly recent phone only a month on the market, but that month should have been enough or them to give us a room that already exists. And LG has a pretty big branch here in Greece, much like Sony.

My brother is waiting for his Samsung Galaxy S5 for marshmallow Update, for sure he will be very hyped for this update but he waited for quite a long time to get the update, until now.

Anyways, the not so old S5 is kinda thin comparing to S6 and S7. My brother loves medium size phone like 5 inch S5. It still run smoothly and supports fast charging. The thing is I rarely see people using S5 over here but S6 and S7 are even more popular as well as A7 and A5.

Into another topic, I found out that my laptop processor does not need high CPU speed to run games smoothly. At most of the time, the fps seemed to retain at average 45 in the Wicther 3. As I tune into high performance, the fps is still retained the same with 3.13 Ghz of Core i5-6300HQ. Besides, the cpu usage does not affect much with maximum speed and average speed of cpu.

This concludes that good processor does not actually needs much power to run the games smoothly

Personally, I think latency is the lesser of two evils. Then again, I'm single-player focused, and even among the multiplayer stuff I do play, they're not as twitchy as CS:GO or the like.

Especially since visible screen tearing detracts heavily from the experience and may induce headaches...
