Hello! X3 I was unable to decide which starter to get because the Typhlosion line is a Fire-Type Starter Line and I tend to always pick Fire-Types because they're cool generally but Feraligator will enventually have very awesome moves that will be useful for PvP Battles.

So which one should I choose? Typhlosion for being a cool Fire-Type or Feraligator for being slightly less cool but uberly more useful?

This thread is also for people who are undecisive about this decision like me. X3

If you choose Typhlosion, you win son! Lol, lame I know.....

Why not pick both? If you have another DS, or can borrow a friends, just choose one starter, get to where you can trade, and then trade it to a different cartridge. Then start a new file, get to where you can save, and then trade it back.

    Win-win?

Well, lets see and compare, shall we?

Typhlosion is a great Special Attacker, especially with a Rash or any nature that boosts his Special Attack to make him invincible. Once he learns Eruption/Flamethrower/Lava Plume, he'll be unstoppable. Although it's defensives aren't very good...

Feraligatr is a awesome Physical Attacker, once he learns Ice Fang, Earthquake and Aqua Tail/Waterfall he'll be a force to be reckoned with. Adamant Nature = EPIC WIN, although something like Typhlosion that sets up a Sunny Day with a Solarbeam in it's arsenal could be deadly, especially when Feralitgatr's water type moves will be weakened and it's not as fast as Typhlosion, but has incredible defensive stats.

But really, go with who you want to go with. As for myself, since I can always get a Vulpix in my Soul Silver, I'm getting Feraligatr.

Dang, it's a good thing I pulled that "Trade and start a new file" trick, because now a Feraligator sounds pretty dope....

I just picked Typhlosion because it's what I always picked before in the originals.

'Choose Pokemon for my team'-esque threads aren't really allowed, sorry, going to close. You've got a good analysis of them though already, and I doubt you'd get better than that to be honest. They're both good.

There should also be a 'what starter did you choose?' thread around somewhere so you can see there what people chose via the poll.
