Speaking of anime this season, Taboo Tattoo. Completely looked it over on anilist or what have you because its promotional art was....pretty generic. Not bad looking, per se, but it didn't stand out to the point that I forgot it existed until this morning when I rediscovered it. Watched it because the name kinda made my jaw drop a little. Anyhow.
The animation in this show can be...really strange. It's noticably JC Staff at times but you can tell where they cut corners. For instance, most actions and short scene switches really any transitions and at times things seemed stilted. It could overall be generalized as a lack of feedback. As if they didn't have enough money. For their first and most impressionable episode. Didn't help that it just kind of...started, with no real build-up or anything.
Come to find that they definitely didn't, because the fighting in this show is fucking solid as hell. While I certainly don't want this to be a trend, they definitely put a lot of time and money into the battle animation here and I'd love to see what else they're bringing to the table with this. Holy hell.
Also "Chalk is my Trigger." That was all I needed to make it a definite follow.
