Y'know, for some reason, its the same for me. I remember being awestruck when the Kaikigahara arc ended. But then, while watching Hachikuji arc, I couldn't, for some reason, remember parts of the Kaiki arc. I couldn't put my finger on why I liked the arc so much. And with Hachikuji arc ending the way it did, I, for a while, just couldn't remember most things about that arc. My mind was filled only with Hachikuji. Nothing else. Even trying to think of Kaiki arc made me come up with a blank. That was very weird, to say the least.

Even though I literally marathoned the series. But yeah, I can remember almost everything now. Definitely a strange thing but I guess you could explain it by calling it a phenomena where the stuff I most recently watched just overpowered and made accessing memories of stuff I saw in the past harder. At least till the "emotionally drained" phase was active and in full force. Definitely a different reason than in your case, heh.

But yeah. From what I've seen in the series, Second Season is the only 9 for me. More like, a strong 9+. Rest all I've given an 8. Bakemonogatari would've scored a 7 if not for the excellent Hanekawa parts at the end lel. The series has officially made it into my top 10, too. :3

Watching the end parts of Tower of Druaga, I noticed something.

Tomokazu Seki plays an incredibly powerful king with a mad superiority complex. He's clad in golden armour and his name in Gilgamesh. You could say he's the big bad.
This is the case in ToD.

It's also the case I the Fate franchise. Same guy. This cannot be a coincidence. Someone has to have noticed this before.

Same. I remember people updating their hummingbird after "completing" it. That reminds me. I still haven't seen it yet! Even though II was such a huge fan of the original. Shall have to get to it asap - once I'm done with the gatari series anyway

5000th Post. WOOHOO.

This all reminds me that I need to go and watch- HOLY **** LITTLE WITCH ACADEMIA 2 CAME OUT YESTERDAY

AND OH GOD NEW OWARI CAME OUT 3 HOURS AGO

WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME?
Caught upto it. :D And the episodes have been sweet. Loving Ougi so far. And both the first and the second openings are excellent. Second one is more eerie but I prefer the first one as far as the music goes. And Ougi > that other chick anyway :v
also i made the thread for it post in there plis kthxbai

I never really got into mecha mainstays like Gundam and Macross for some reason. I never tried them. Might be time to give a shot. But they're all really long and seem like going through them will be quite a bothersome task. I don't know where to start. :(

Some are pretty short, standalone entries that just about anyone can watch. For instance, Gundam 08th MS Team takes place during Mobile Suit Gundam (the original), but it doesn't rely on it and is decent in length (12 episodes). Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, similarly, works on its own. It's a movie (and is pretty highly regarded), so you can just jump in.

It's really less of a question of where to start and more of what you want. You want high octane Shounen Action? G Gundam's the way to go. Want idols with catchy-ass music? Macross Frontier's gotcha. Proxy battles? Danball Senk- I mean...uh...Gundam Build Fighters. And of course, for classic Mech on Mech action, there's pretty much any of the household names (Wing, MSG, 00). They can be long but if you like it, you're going to stick with it, and as far as Gundam is concerned, the lengths on these vary a great deal from title to title. But I'd say if you want a short, no strings attached mech entry to start, go with 08th MS Team. It's short, it's good, and it's very...human.

I'll look back on this post the next time I think of starting a gundam. Shall bookmark, in fact lol. Right now...ehh, too much into currently ongoing ones and a few other complete shows to get into an entirely new genre.

Seems like all of the regulars from here are busy with real life this season or are straight up disinterested in currently ongoing shows. The activity in the section has taken a noticeable decline IMO :(

Well, I already had a couple of shows that it was a given that I was going to watch (OPM and monogatari), and other than that I'm content steadily going through the backlog at night. My interest in checking out stuff this season has been reduced to giving things a shot if friends recommend them.
