You all would remember about me mentioning that how a Shoujo Protagonist always ends up with hot , dazzling and shining guys.
Well , If that how Shoujo Anime work then its fine But Why does Shounen and Kids anime has to follow this trend ?
For example : Current Duel Master series using this girl as Current protagonist love interest

They picked her even though the Anime handed Mimi to Hakuoh.

Any fans of previous Duel master should know that Mimi was prefect for Shobu specially considering the movie.
But the Anime tend to ignore it despite shoving a plain girl on the protagonist.
My Question : Why does only male protagonist has to compromise with any girl why Female protagonist must end up with hot dazzling guys ?

They don't. Also, Duel Masters is a promotional kids Shounen series which generally lend themselves to rather plain main girl designs. 'Cause they're for kids. Other shounen don't really fall into this and generally tend to bank on the main girl's assets or appearance. For a particularly blatant example, see: Any popular shounen. Literally any one.

Ironically, though; I can think of more than one situation where a Kids Shounen got the MC with a rather eccentrically designed main girl or an unexpected pick, but that would be spoilers.

Its because Duel Master is for Kids , The Anime needed a main girl with Cuter appearance since Kids seem to prefer appearance over their assets or personality.
Mimi had the cutest appearance with asset as bonus , Yet the Anime ignored her while shoving a plain girl on current protagonist.
Just look at here , Do any other girl more Worthy of Shobu then Mimi-
Just look at 1:18 to 1:33 , That scene is probably one of the most romantic moment in any Kids anime.
But Seriously , The Plain Protagonist is doomed to lose the Best girl even if they makes the Best couple.
Gods Knows , What kind of Plain girl they will shove on Shobu as well!
Its happen in every Kids Shounen Anime , The Best and pretest girl always goes to the Popular guy. I can get why "Popular Guy" always win in Shoujo Anime But why does they has to win in Shouene Kids anime ?
It happened in Digimon Adventure 02 as well where Davis was chasing after Kari even though he was doomed to lose her to TK.
Its like the entire Kid anime industry run by some Women who believe that The Prettiest Girls should always ends up with Popular guy even if she's the protagonist or supporting character.

I can honestly never understand why you'd be so stuck on something like that. I mean, it DOES make for some discussion so its alright I suppose but...really?

I personally think you're being highly selective here. There's all kinds of content out there. Maybe you just haven't explored enough - it could just be the fact that the pool of anime you've seen just happens to be like that. That's selective reasoning and you can't exactly come to a conclusion from that alone - you need to have seen a very large percentage of shows that belong to the specific genre to actually come to anything that resembles a logical inference.

Yet, due to the very nature of anime being anime and something that has existed for a longer time than our existence (taking the assumption that you're not 100+ year old), that's pretty much impossible. It isn't really possible for anyone to have seen like 60% or 70% of ALL kids anime or, really, any other kind of anime. Because for every 10 that you've seen, there exist 100 more that you haven't.

Which is why I personally believe that thinking about topics like this is futile. I mean, trends seen in some of the popular ones? Sure, that's okay. But we're talking about stuff like "WHY DO THEY ALWAYS GET THE PLAIN GIRLS WHILE GIRLS GET THE HANDSOME GUY?! ALWAYS?!?!". Doesn't fall in the same category for me, idk.

also sorry if i'm saying something here that doesn't make sense. i got a shitload of work to do so i'm just here for some quick rambling to get my mind off it - not really thinking much lol

Meanwhile, from my perspective, Davis was some obnoxious kid who tried to make moves on Kari and antagonising the to me more likeable and relatable character of TK.

Maybe you notice these things because you specifically relate to the male characters you perceive as romantic underdogs?

I'll be going to my biggest local, Anime Detour, as is my yearly routine now.

I do want to go to a bigger one like AX, ACen, or Otakon at some point, though my group is not too keen on traveling to another city. There's only so much that can be happening at a con that's capped at an attendance of 5000. That'd require quite a bit of financial preparation, though.

Well , Davis was never treated like a lead protagonist ! He was like a supporting character who act as a Comic relief and suddenly get power-up out of nowhere.
Unlike Tai who was treated like a lead protagonist from the start and actually earned his leadership.
I don't think Davis start shining until the final ark!
But again , Adventure 02 was written by a lousy group of people.

Anyway , Duelmaster entering its final season So I think the Anime should end with making Shobu & Mimi a canon couple instate of making her chasing after Hakuoh again. (Specially after he turn evil and hurt her so many time)
Specially Since both Shobu & Mimi are already grown enough to marry each other.
At least , That way The Anime can get some older fans back after most of them have left the series.
After all , Duelmaster doesn't need an open ending in term of Shipping since They have someone like Mimi who's supported by everyone.
Unlike , Pokemon Anime where there going to be some disappointed people no matter which girl Ash pick at the end.
 
As usual I always go to the local con here Armageddon Expo for like the ... 8th year(?) now.
I do plan to go back to Anime Expo again sometime in the future, but have no idea when the next time I'm heading back to america. I do have plans to go to other cons like NY Comic Con and PAX Aus which is the most likely at this point - even though they aren't really gaming cons. Though ACEN and Otakon would be super awesome to go to as well.

Fairy Tail cosplay, huh? Too bad, 3D world, you cannot ever be as good as the 2D goddesses that are Fairy Tail women. XD
I wonder when the con in the city nearest to me would be held. Perhaps end of the year or next year.
