The cosplay is by no means bad. And I really respect these people for their time and effort that they put into it but...yeah, nope. Fairy tail women are just too perfect. Can't be replicated or even come close to.

Fairy Tail women have awful proportions, IMO. Not as bad as some of One Piece's, but still.

Also, RE: Famon, there's nothing wrong with being critical, but, Famon, you tend to fixate on the smaller things in a series or a group of series rather than some of the bigger issues.

As long as they look sexy, who cares if the proportions are unrealistic? They do the job. And pretty well, at that. :P

And yes, absolutely agreed @famon.

Someone has to notice the small thing since everyone is worried about bigger issue.
I don't want any other Protagonist to end up like Goku who had the worst wife shoved into him.
Duel Master is part of my childhood so I want my favorite couple to be canon since they have no reason to chose anyone else while an unattractive and plaine version of Mimi is being shoved into Katta.

By the way , It feels like all our favorite Anime from Childhood coming to life--
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...ct-to-celebrate-manga-20th-anniversary/.98171
Dragon Ball Super , Digimon Tri , Yugioh Remastered and now Card Capture Sakura !
What else is left ?

A new project for Cardcaptor Sakura's 20th anniversary?! God give me an anime, ova or movie of some form please!

Now all I need is a Shaman King Reboot with Flowers and my childhood is set. (Although 20 years for Shaman King is in 2018 which is still 2 years away).

Time to rewatch/read everything again!

Who else would Goku have ended up with? Bulma is established to not be interested in him in that way during Dragon Ball, Launch is established as being significantly older, and every other prospective girl not named Chichi was a character of the day type character who did not prominently feature.

Also, just reading synopses of Mimi's roles in series, Mimi seems to be serving more as a mentor to Katta. Not sure where you're getting the idea that there's any forced romance based on what I've read in those synopses.

I'd suggest stepping back and just enjoying the ride and not thinking too hard on it. taking that measure is how I can still enjoy the Pokemon anime every Saturday after 850+ episodes in 6 years.

CCS, while not a part of my own childhood (hooray for not having cable until 1999!), looks like a series I'd enjoy now. I've enjoyed other Clamp works in the past as well as other series in the genre (mahou shoujo/magical girl).

You also forgot to include Sailor Moon Crystal in that list, even though that first hit back in 2014.

It would also have been nice to see a Yu Yu Hakusho 25th anniversary thing last year, but that's not nearly as popular, I'd imagine, and I've seen around that the author didn't exactly end the series on good terms with his publisher because of conflicts over the direction of the series (editors trying to make it like Dragon Ball, apparently?).

Chichi is the only one for him. I don't even see what makes her so bad of a character or worst girl, for that matter. XD;

More like dragon ball....uhh, like, in what sense? I've never heard of this :o

This is totally a different topic but. I can't. I can't hold myself back after the latest episodes. GINTAMA IS SO FUCKING PERFECT!!!1!!!1!!111
https://a.pomf.cat/dekmsk.webm
My god Gintama is totally blowing everything outta the water right now. This OP is so perfect. The gloomy atmosphere and those grey colors - absolutely perfect for the kind of arc it is dealing with. And it manages to have almost no spoilers, too (well, those who are in the early gintama episodes or not following it won't be able to make anything spoilery out).

Even the episodes. I was pretty damn depressed when the quality of episodes went down last arc in-between. But nope. Those guys are in top form now. They're fucking brilliant. Especially the eyes this episode. Depression, anger, frustration - all kinds of emotions overflowing from them. Love this series so much, god damn it. <3 Wish more people watched it, really.

Based on the current tone you'd never even think this is a comedy anime haha.

I am really tempted to jump Gin Tama to the top of my queue list, by my marathoning game is weak right now so I'd probably have to adopt the rules I apply to Naruto where I watch an episode a week plus an episode for each series I complete.

More adventure-y battle shonen-y with crazy escalation like how Dragon Ball was at the time YYH was being published, I guess. Dragon Ball was far and away the most popular manga of the genre at the time.

You would, because it's Sugita who says that =D

Might be difficult to believe for you but Sugita pulls off serious content so perfectly that you just get pulled in. His performance is very convincing. So nope. ;p

Well, either way you pick, do try to get into the series. It is pretty damn awesome even if the initial episodes aren't the best. :p

And yes, makes sense. Dragon Ball was fucking huge back then. The fact that it still survives right now after all those years is a testament to the brand. Wouldn't blame either party for their stance. Neither editor nor togashi. But I believe that the artist should get the last say and togashi was right to put his foot down back then.

She gets cured of lolidom- though she gets points because child Chi-Chi is voiced by Laura Bailey. Not why I like her, though, since in general orig DB had a pretty fantastic cast.

Unmarried Adult Chi-Chi's fun. In general she is, though she was certainly at her prime in DB. And she doesn't even appear all that often. Definitely far from worst wife, though.

Then again, I have seen Famon's waifus. For those, I have no words.

Actually, on that note, I'd be totally down with more Shonen having MCs or major characters be fully grown adults or married w/wo kids. This came to mind when Zero Escape's creator mentioned how he wanted to use more older characters but, to appeal to audiences, ended up using mostly younger characters (though he gets clever with it). Watching Dragon Ball Super in particular I realized how much I like characters that are bound to more than motivation or plot-chains. Often times it forces the authors to make characters that are more three-dimensional and relatable, and it can do a great deal to make their lives seem more valuable and the loss of such hit harder (Fullmetal Alchemist takes this in spades).

And I know why younger characters are generally used, that much is obvious. I'd say, with Goku, who's a kid in a married man's body, Dragon Ball's sort of found a nice middle ground, and FMA uses the younger mindsets of characters living in a world that, simply, is much older than they are to juxtapose the differences in their ideas and actions. Hell, one of the reasons I like Gintoki so much is because he's older and horribly jaded (could be a result of his genre savviness, but I wouldn't say they're mutually exclusive). I'd like to see more, though. To hit bigger audiences it has to be treated carefully and, if someone wants to just create a shonen featuring older characters, it's pretty much gonna be Seinen, but the Shonen with older/married characters that I do watch I love on that basis.

But that's just me throwing a quarter into a dry well.

See, this is why I say I LOVE macho's posts. He might just be stating his opinions on things in general but almost the entirety of the post follows logic and proper reasoning. Loved how he brought up FMA and Gintama in as examples, too. Definitely agreed on both fronts.

But that's just me throwing a quarter into a dry well.
lol

I don't know , Maybe someone more understanding , better and deserving then ChiChi.
All ChiChi ever did was shoving her thought on Goku !She makes Sakura Haruno look like a nicer woman.
Also , Bulma did shown an interest toward Teenage Goku ! However , Her Age was the problem.
But ChiChi lost all her charm during Maijin Buu ark , What was the point of marrying an Younger woman if she turn into a old lady before Bulma ?
At least , Bulma understood her husband passion and desire so she helped him anyway she could.
But ChiChi always "Me Me Me Me Me Me" ! She barely ever tried to understand Goku desire at all.
One of the reason Gohan became such a big disappointed was because of ChiChi.
Goku deserved someone far better then Chichi.

Also , I was Talking about Katta's Older Brother Shobu's relationship with Mimi who happen to be the previous protagonist of Duel Master.
Mimi was Shobu's closet female friend and probably one who supposed to be his love-interest.
Cheek this video to see their relationship-
Now tell me , Don't you think it would forced if Shobu and Mimi ends up with different person.

More understanding? Did...did you watch Dragon Ball? Have you met Bulma, because...I mean...I feel like you haven't.

Not really. She showed off her panties because she wanted his Dragon Ball (please take that out of context) and then, when he turned 18, marveled at how tall he was. They've always just been friends, though.

But ChiChi lost all her charm during Maijin Buu ark , What was the point of marrying an Younger woman if she turn into a old lady before Bulma ?
Wow. I don't think I have a response to this, because the fallacies. Oh, the fallacies.

Bulma never allowed Vegeta to train, he just did it. She let him because she couldn't stop him.

That, and Chi Chi's a mom that cares about her son's future. That she didn't want Gohan to train and instead pushed for him to be successful, coming from a pretty small, low-income household with a father who doesn't work...I really don't see the problem here. I don't really see how wanting the best for her family is a bad thing. Or why it's a bad thing that she'd want Goku to stay home and be a father and a husband every now and again.

Dragon Ball Arguments. This is the stuff, people.

I'll freely admit I thought Chichi was a little bit of a 'conventional' wife character, and still is in the modern DB animes. She does fill the role pretty well, being the perfect wife for Goku. I really don't see anything wrong with that either. I do sometimes wish she maybe had a little more screen time for character development beyond what is already achieved...but it's really a minor thing I don't worry about. Besides the show isn't about Goku's relationship. :P

EDIT: omg I can't wait to see a CCS 20th anni event.

I watched Dragon Z and Whatever innocence ChiChi had as child disappeared when she became an adult.

Also , Bulma was marveled how tall & "Handsome" Goku has become !

So , Vegeta made those Gravity room all by himself.
Not to mention , Bulma also help him to get Whis to train him and gave him new cloth for training! She also help Vegeta to become Super Sayan 4 in GT.
Also , Vegeta is just as scared off Bulma as Goku is to ChiChi.

She basically wanted Gohan to be like that cowardly worthless Tutor she brought in Home over his noble Father.
She wanted Gohan to be a pussy , Not successful .
ChiChi reminds me off those selfish parents who shoved their own dream on their children and never cared what their children want.
Even now She's plan to ruin Pan ! Even Mr Satan's future plan for Pan is far better then what ChiChi wants.

Goku is happy with a simple life and doesn't wish for luxurious life.
If ChiChi can't understand Goku's noblity then she doesn't deserved Goku.
