First of all, I'm not using move descriptions because they're useless. Sorry but it's like a fad at school where guys don't wear pants...it should be stopped. Now. lol...also not centering or right aligning this team

So if anybody was hoping to scoff at my format you lose =) Unless you hate simplistic stuff but w/e lol

Anyways i was chatting with vance on smogon's server at 2:30 AM and I threw this together. It's basically a stall team but instead of stalling, i throw choice items on walls and potentially defensive pokemon (like mence lol) and call it a day. I laddered with it for a couple hours and suffered two losses, though one was because gyarados got a crit on vaporeon and that was the end =/

platinum has been fun to ladder with given how predictable ~80% of teams are and how easy it is to exploit it.

So here it is lol...I'll eventually give them nicknames and maybe even make it look pretty if you don't troll =\ (and I'm not even kidding, don't troll this or I'm going to be really pissed).

    Swampert (M) @ Choice Band ** Plankton
    Ability: Torrent
    EVs: 240 HP/252 Atk/16 Def
    Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Earthquake
    - Waterfall
    - Stone Edge
    - Ice Punch

Surprisingly good lead. I really don't care if gengar trickscarfs at me since it loses anyways. Hippowdon leads have been surprisingly common but they take ~70% from Waterfall so lol @ that. It's just really effective, haven't used this in 2-3 months and it's good to see that it still is a top-notch attacker. Also provides my rock resist and electric immunity.

Heatran (M) @ Choice Scarf ** Mr. (Eugene) Krabs
    Ability: Flash Fire
    EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
    Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Overheat
    - Earth Power
    - Hidden Power [Ice]
    - Toxic

The best choice scarfer in the game, though i don't try to rely on it much. I use Overheat for guaranteed kills on Gengar and Bronzong, something Fire Blast doesn't do. Toxic is for upstart little waters and also destroys ddtar switch-ins, and did i mention that overheat is awesome? the SAtk drop can be a bummer but it's generally alright. Earth power is never useful but is there anyways.

Salamence (M) @ Choice Band ** Squidward Tentacles
    Ability: Intimidate
    EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd
    Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Outrage
    - Dragon Claw
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Fang

This is my switch-in to fighters, and if they're upstart with ice punch or stone edge or whatever, heatran can revenge then anyways. I usually play this guy pretty aggressively so Dragon Claw isn't used much, but i still want that option there (so I don't wanna hear about how it's not necessary =/) Fire Fang does a ton to skarmory and 2HKOs it with SR iirc (and I might not recall correctly but i know there is a circumstance where it 2HKOs). It's better against the more common bronzong though, and its accuracy is better than fire blast.

And lol it seems as though i forgot 4 Def EVs. I'll put those in on shoddy lol (and no not hp so i can switch into SR 4 times).

Vaporeon (M) @ Choice Specs ** Spongebob Squarepants
    Ability: Water Absorb
    EVs: 4 HP/252 Def/252 SAtk
    Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Surf
    - Ice Beam
    - Hidden Power [Electric]
    - Wish

defensive anchor guy, Wish support is awesome and this has been one of the MVPs so far. Specs vaporeon is pretty cool and serves as a gyara, mixape, and mence check. Wish support is really useful, especially against toxic-obsessed teams. It keeps my team healthy though and still does a ton of damage, which is all i can really ask for.

Snorlax (M) @ Choice Band ** Patrick Star
    Ability: Thick Fat
    EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 SDef
    Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Return
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Punch
    - Selfdestruct

CBLAX. Love it. Pursuit and Crunch are stupid since fire Punch makes gengar roll over anyways. EQ is for the surprisingly-common rhyperior (which 2HKOs it sometimes if I'm lucky). Fire Punch is for steels and is great for messing up Scizor, which for some reason likes to switch in on snorlax. Never used BOOM but it's there to go out with a bang if necessary. This is my main check against those upstart agility sweepers like zapdos.

Heracross (F) @ Choice Scarf ** Sandy Cheeks
    Ability: Guts
    EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
    Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Close Combat
    - Megahorn
    - Stone Edge
    - Toxic

Revenge killer mostly here for DDtar if I'm being perfectly honest. Toxic is handy for bulky grounds and lol @ Gliscor who thinks it's a free ride onto the field. It was honestly a filler but it's been pretty useful actually, and I haven't used scarfcross since pre-obistall, so it's been awhile. I really like it though, and it takes advantage of toxispikes well enough.

    ----------------------

Rate away. With only one legit loss and a handful of wins, I'd say it's at least workable for what is honestly a gimmick team. I don't expect it to climb the leaderboards though I'd be fine with that lol. I know the weaknesses you're ready to point out (like ttar, toxic spikes, etc.) but I've faced them all and on paper I admit I'm weak to them, but this team plays a lot different than you'd think. Point them out anyways though, since I'd like to improve this to a point where it could be seriously competitive.

one last thing: I really want to keep the choice item theme intact so don't suggest blissey =\ Also this isn't a "womg seriousness gotta get number one" thing so I don't really mind that much if there are a few holes. But again, point them out anyways just in case I missed some things (and I most certainly did seeing as I put this together literally in ten minutes off the top of my head and randomly started laddering with it lol).

    Rate away. rofl

keke i remember when choice item teams were pretty much silly taboo, but in the current metagame, it works always loved the CB swampy but never got the chance to try it.

Nothing really glaring as a weakness here except the notable amount of damage SR and spikes will do to this team with only one SR resist and everyone bar Salamence being hit by Spikes. To deal with that with Choice items, I'm unsure. You might want to invest in your own SR though. I saw you miss out on some crucial KOs without it last night. It could go over Toxic on Heatran since that thing causes so many switches.

Overall though, excellent team for a Choice team. In Platinum it's actually a good idea with the extreme amount of offense.

bumping this because i have been having trouble with fast recover pokemon (like starmie and even celebi) and also rhyperior to an extent. The team has been successful in general but I need help with the weaknesses...

Heracross should massacre those. Otherwise, you can't Taunt them (Choice, Yay!). I guess you'd have to lay down Toxic Spikes/Toxic them? Wish Jirachi.....*Shudder*

alright I laddering extensively yesterday, and my only losses to offensive teams were due to poor play on my part. What I did have trouble with was stall though. I beat most of the stall teams i faced, but the ones that beat me just MASSACRED my team. I mean I don't know what to do seeing how they have resistances covered, which makes being locked in on one move a real liability. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Like unchoice some of your pokes is the only logical explanation or at least have a wall breaker or something o.o, aka make mence Mixed or something similar =p.

If that's the case I'd rather remake the team since this one is after all for a fun gimmick, but yeah. I'll keep the formula simple with wall breakers and definitely status absorption. Thanks =D

You can lock it if you want, though you can keep it open too. I don't care lol
