Just updated the challenge and champion list. If I've missed anything, please VM me with a link to the post I missed and I'll get it changed! Thanks! Hope you're all having fun. :) Also, this thread will be adding XY options some time after the release of the games in only less than a month! Look forward to it, y'all!!

No, you have plenty to choose from. You're free to add in something that's on the list, but exclusive outside of Emerald, like Lunatone. But if it's not in the list, then no. You'll be fine, don't worry.
Eliza - Flygon - lv 49
Baron - Gyarados - lv 49
Andrew - Sandslash - lv 49
Ira - Nidoking - lv 50
Kieran - Gyarados - lv 49
Edmund - Piloswine - lv 49
Three evolutions since last time oh my god. And a championship win. And a new region to explore. And two new badges. Yay!
I'm really haphazard with Kanto exploration haha. I mean everywhere I go I talk to every single person and trainer and fully explore but... I do it really randomly. I went through Vermilion to Saffron and beat all Sabrina's trainers and then got my ass handed to me so went to Cerulean and took my anger out on Misty after doing the Power Plant quest. Then wandered over to Celadon and took out Erika with my overwhelming assault of Ice, Poison, and Flying. tbh Ira did like all the work on that. Poison Jab was so worth waiting for.
Currently just hanging out in Celadon for no reason. Maybe I'll go back and try Sabrina again.
Major update! I just added all of the Kalos region gym leaders! I have not updated leaders from previous regions to include gen VI Pokemon though, as it takes a while. I will try to get one region done per day (maybe more if time allows). If you run into any problems while looking through the list of Pokemon for the new gym leaders, please let me know! I tried my best to pick Pokemon that I thought suited the new gym leaders, though it's a bit difficult without knowing their personalities and Pokemon outside of just the games. I try to make sure there are enough Pokemon to make a full team for gens I-III since there's no trading there, and gen IV-VI can wifi trade, but if I didn't provide enough, please let me know. :) Good luck everyone!
Assuming that I want to go as Koga in FR, is changing starter at least plausible? And if so, does it have to be signature (in this case I imagine Grimer) one?
I would want to either go with Koga in FR or someone from Johto in Crystal, it's all down to starters question. I'm not really fond of using haxors, but then again I'm not really fond of going with one or two Pokemons until there are more.

That's fine by me. You don't have to change the starter to his signature Pokemon though. You'll need to use it, but you don't have to pick it up in place of a starter. I hope that made sense. I'm really tired atm lol.
Putting all my updates in spoiler tags as it's from the new games. Day 1
