Well I've already got a team planned out (since there are only 5 fire types in sinnoh anyways...) So I should have no problems this time. As long as I remember to save.
Man, I'm gonna go put that in the DPPt WTF moment thread soon.
Short update: Made it to Snowpoint. Now to hunt for a Female Snorunt...
Also, Arnold, you should be fine. Since you're doing an Ultimate, I don't control the rules, but honestly, I think its more cheating to not get an Ice Pokemon until that late in the game, because Typhlosion can solo the game rather easily imo w/ Flame Wheel and Thunderpunch.
Okay thanks for your input. I will solo with Typhlosion who's my favorite fire starter. Now I don't have to worry. Alright I'm all set and ready to get through this.

-Got some Poison-killing practice with the bikers down to Fuschia
-After like 8 tries, beat Koga in the luckiest battle of my life. Weezing is so hard to beat with Primeapes.
-Got Good Rod, flew to Viridian and caught Honda the Poliwag for a new team member
-Trained Honda up the route from Fuschia to Lavender
-Did our thang in Saffron
(Picked up Muhammed the Hitmonchan)
(Gallantly saved Silph Co.)
(Beat Sabrina thanks to lightning fast Mega Punches/Kicks from the best Primeapes ever)
-Surfed through Whirl Islands to Cinnabar
-Did our thang in the Mansion, beat Blaine (thanks to Honda's radical surfing skillz)
-Saved an island from rambunkious bikers and a little girl from a hungry Hypno
-Back in Viridian City babay

Gyarados took down Bibarel and Girafarig (Maybe I should've done some grinding for a thunderbolt TM), but was weakened enough that Buneary finished it with a quick attack. Clefairy took down Quagsire and Floatzel. After the battle Buneary finally evolved :D

Drifblim spammed Minimize, Ko'd Bibarel and was generally annoying, really annoying. So I decided to fight fire with fire. Staravia DT'd up and started Aerial Aceing, sadly, Fantina's Gengar decided to ignore the rules of the game and have perfect accuracy anyway(I have no luck with evasion moves [see Blue E4]). Girafarig defeated it but was in pretty bad shape when Mismagius came out. Time for Lopunny's debut battle, 2 Fist Plate boosted Jump Kicks later, I won.
Next Time! Team member #6 and yet another gym with a type advantage...
-Started on Emerald
-Chose treecko
-played through the first gym and quickly delivered the letter to steven in granite cave so i could go to slateport city
-caught and Electrike
My first update in Crystal on my Ice Monotype Challenge.
Started the game with Cyndaquil and named him Solitude strangely.
Made it to Mr. Pokemon's House.
Defeated Red in Cherrygrove City.
Returned to the Pokemon Lab and went back.
Defeated everyone in the Sprout Tower.
Defeated Falkner in Violet City.
Defeated Team Rocket in Slowpoke Well.
Defeated Bugsy in Azalea Town.
Caught Oddish for Cut in Ilex Forest.
Defeated Whitney in Goldenrod City.
Got the Squirtbottle.
Defeated Morty of Ecruteak City.
Caught a Krabby for the water HMs (probably need a different water species)
Got the medicine for Jasmine in Cianwood City.
Defeated Chuck.
Defeated Jasmine in Olivine City.
Headed for Lake of Rage and defeated the Gyarados.
Defeated Team Rocket in Mahogany Town.
Defeated Pryce (who has my type of pokemon).
Headed for the Ice Caves and caught a Delibird who I named Clause.
Caught a Sneasel and named him Xel as it was night.
Trained Xel and Clause.
Headed to Union Cave to catch Lapras.
I know what you're thinking. How could I catch Lapras today if it isn't Friday? Well I set the time all weirdly in advance to catching these pokemon. Too bad I couldn't catch the pokemon in the morning or day in the ice caves. Right now the game is set on Friday at 11:00 p.m..
Right now I'm training them up to fight Team Rocket in the Radio Tower. Later on I will catch a Swinub and that's about it. That will be my team.

Since my internet messed up my last attempt to post, I'll just have to post two seperate updates, this last Kanto one, and my first Johto one.
Update Time:
-Did our thang in Viridian
(Beat Giovanni thanks again to Honda's radical surfing skillz)
-Actually had a semi-tough rival battle before marching up Victory Road. His Alakazam = deadly for my team :(
-Marched through Victory Road
(Caught a Machoke to take place of my slave in the Elite Four, just so my team is all legitly fighting)
-Attempted to take on Leurolai, got my donk handed to me by Slowbro, realized I needed to grind a little
-Sooooo I grinded up my team 2 or 3 levels and decided to give it a whirl
-Leurolai (or however you spell it) was thankfully beaten due to a crit Mega Punch from Bananas
-Bruno was cake, but I attribute most of the victory to Honda's Psychic powers that I taught her
-Agatha was beaten thanks to Honda's surfing skillz, and not much else
-Lance from Honda's Blizzard and Stanley's durability + Strength attack
-Rival was a real dick, took me four or five tries. The sole reason I beat him was from great fortune at the AI being retarded and his Alakazam not using Psychic on me. Thank you Lord. Pidgeot was the other real problem, but Stanleys Rock Slide got a nice crit for me. Thank you again Lord. Everything else was cake, xcept Blastoise took awhile. For some reason he only attacked Honda w/ Water Gun, probably his only real useful attack I guess, so she could take it and take it and then I won :D
For this Elite Four, the MVP was definitely Honda my Poliwrath. The LVP was Muhammed, who got raped at every single frickin oppurtunity by OHKOs since he's so frail. So his punching skills didn't do anything for me.

I decided to go on ahead and start Johto tonight on my Crystal version while continuing my UMC Fighting, since you can only catch Poliwags at night.

(Snitched on my rival to the PoPo)
-Caught Nancy the Poliwag for first team member
-Did our thang in Violet City, after grinding Nancy a little so she could take a hit or two from the ever-many bellsprouts in the tower
(Climbed Sprout Tower, defeated Falkner, got Togepi Egg, shopped a little)

Wow, it's been like over a week since I posted... Well I haven'y played too much. Just been to busy -_-
Ok, so in case you forgot (or never cared to remember :P) I've been doing an electric run on Heart Gold...................................So!
Well I beat team rocket, which was pretty easy. Then I battled Pryce and got the badge (also pretty easy, even though he had a couple levels on me) and then I flew back to Oliveine to battle Jasmine. She was a bit tougher, with the type resistance on her Pokemon's second types, but after the training from TR and Pryce I beat her after some struggle. Now I'm getting calls from Prof. Elm (what does this pedophile want now?) and he tells me to go to Goldenrod, cus something big happened. Well, if it's so big why isn't it on the radio? Oh... it is. It appears TR made it to the radio tower... I just beat them up! Argh these b****es don;t stop. So I go to goldenrod and they don't even let me up the radio tower! So I decide to go get a haircut, as a disguise. Turns out I can get a while TR uniform! Forget the haircut. So I get to run around all cool in my rocket uniform. I made sure to scare everyone in goldenrod! I wanted to go show my mom but they wouldn't let me leave the city... so I figure now it's time to go up the tower and do some business! And the guy finally lets me in the stairs. But then Ampere comes and takes my uniform! Look, I get it, I'm apparently very attractive to the gay male but I would like to keep my clothes on. Well now, at least i'm free to battle these grunts! And so I battle a couple of them and take a well deserved break.
-Boxed Starly, withdrew Piplup, taught it surf
-Flew to Jubilife, surfed west. Caught/Trained Glameow
-Battled Rival
-Backtracked to Eterna, caught Cleffas/Clefairies for half an hour, still no moon stone
-Used surf to get a couple of items
-Bought Ice Beam TM from the game corner
-To the gym!
Clefairy took down Bronzor and Steelix, 2 flamethrowers each, Lopunny got knocked down to 6/91 by 2 missed Jump Kicks in a row before finally taking Bastiodon down. (It didn't even attack, it just spammed rest.)
-Went to the library, spoke to professor
-Defeated commander Saturn at Lake Valor, Staravia evolved & learned Close Combat
-Flew to Sandgem, fought Team Galactic at Lake Verity. Defeated Mars.
-Got rid of Rock Smash at the Move Deleter and taught Bibarel Strength
-Headed to Snowpoint
-Did some grinding
-Gym Time!

Medicham got psybeamed by Girafarig before switching out to Sneasel, who defeated Girafarig and lost to Lopunny in 1 hit
Glameow was taken down to 9hp and frozen by an Ice Punch from Medicham. I used the turn before it fainted from hail to revive Girafarig, who fainted in one ice punch...Staraptor finished it off with Fly.
Clefairy took Abomasnow down to 20%ish health before fainting, Lopunny finished it with Jump Kick
-Checked out Lake Acuity
-Attacked Team Galactic HQ, Glameow evolved
-Bibarel swept Cyrus' team with rollout
-Staraptor and Girafarig brutalised Saturn
-Caught Bibarel HM slave
-Stocked up on healing items then on, to Mt. Coronet!
-Blitzed Mars and Jupiter
-Had some trouble with Cyrus
-Masterball'd Palkia because I was an idiot and didn't heal after Cyrus
-Went to Sunnyshore
-Caught 5 more cleffas(No really), still no moon stone, oh well, gonna give the underground another shot...
-6 heart scales and a zap plate later I decided Clefairy would stay as is...
-Anyways...time for badge #8

Purugly was somehow faster than Raichu and took it down in 2 Digs,
Next up was Ambipom, I tried to counter with Staraptor but he baton passed to Luxray, rather than do the smart thing and switch, I tried to get one last quick attack in before fainting. Clefairy proceeded to mop the floor with Luxray.
Next up was Ambipom...scratch that, apparently it's Octillery...I switched to Girafarig, who managed to take it out with thunderbolt.
Right...Ambipom again this time, no one to baton pass too this time, muahahaha! Lopunny kicked it twice to finish the battle.
Okay, here it is, my first update on my Ultimate Normal Type run.
Current Game: Red
Badges: 0
Didn't do a whole lot, got a Rattata and Pidgey and they're like level 6, haven't done Rival battle near Pokemon league yet. Not sure how I'm gonna get that first Gym badge...
Chose Squirtle and Beat rival.
Trained till level 13.
Got the pokedex from Professor Oak.
Went nd caught a Rattata for cut.
Beat rival again.
Beat Brock with Squirtle.
Squirtle evolved after the battle.
Got to Mt. Moon and forgot to get the Magikarp right next to it.
Got through Mt. Moon.
Got all the way to Bill with Wartortle.
Taught Wartortle Mega Punch.
Beat Misty (very easy).
Went and caught a Magikarp when i got to next city.
Training him on trainers around the city and all of the SS Anne.
