Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread

ohhell.. i have not been updating in FOREVER.
i should be taking this more seriously, lol .
in any case; next update.

Challenge : DARK-type challenge, EMERALD.
- analysis ;
sooo. i left off in Slateport didn't i? it's not like i got that much farther since then.
i headed up north, to Mauville, with still Xana and Shade by my side. beat all the trainers and eventually Wally and Wattson, then headed north again.

Fighting all the trainers again, eventually winded up at Fallabor 'cause the stupid magma's wouldnt let me through to the volcano elevator.
i forgot about that, cause i couldn't catch my next pokémon (Cacnea > Cacturne) until i got the go-goggles, for which i had to beat flannery, for which i had to get to lavaridge... sigh. stupid magmas.
soo, after beating the magmas, i headed for lavaridge, got myself some training versus all the gymtrainers, and eventually fought the gymleader herself. i like flannery, honestly.
so, after winning, i got the go-goggles. right now i'm looking for a cacnea in the desert. i love how i never seem to find the pokémon i'm looking for in the desert.

As I recently said, I'm turning my painfully long story into a few main notes. Here we go.

Ultimate Bug-Monotype Challenge - Kanto

1) Headed through RockTunnel, using Phiona's (Parasect's) BulletSeed more often that it was worth. I soon escaped from the catacombs, and ended up in LavenderTown.

2) Phiona was re-christened Pandora, and I headed west to Celedon in order to defeat the gym.

3) Made my way to the big-apple, and did some training against the Gym apprentices. Which wasn't particularly hard to be honest.

4) Fought Erika, using a combination of Confusion for Victreebel and Vileplume, and TwinNeedle for Tangela.

5) Sold all of my earthly posessions in order to collect enough coins. I soon succeeded, and bough a lone Scyther from the GameCorner. She was nicknamed Everin, and taught her ArielAce.

6) I headed back to Lavender, in order to check the strange disturbances in the haunted Pokemon tower.

7) Met up with Ike, who instantly led into a battle. It was finished rather easily due to Everin's superior speed

Just wanted to ask something...

For those who doesn't have FRGL nor RSE, can we start on DPPt?

In HGSS, when you go to Kanto... Does that count as Kanto, or is part of the Johto run? (Like, if I do that, do I still have to make my way through FRGL?)

For the first question, yo can do a regular monotype (one region).

Second question, Kanto in HGSS counts as Johto, since you end at Red in HGSS

Phew. There is so much for me to update. Btw, I've done some pruning. If you haven't updated in the past month, I've removed you from the list. If you want to be on the list, just update, and I'll add you back.

I also changed the colors around (to make it easier for me) so I hope nobody has a problem with that.

And finally, I'm going to start my UMC Electric! I know I've already done the Kanto leg, I'll dig it up and post it in a spoiler.

Whew, I'm finally done with my Red Electric Run. Rock Tunnel I swear... As soon as I got through Rock Tunnel it was easy as balls though. Had to suicide run the Elite Four a couple of times, but nothing too major. Electabuzz was a lifesaver

Hope that counts. Because I do remember this, and it was a terrible thing to have to go through Rock Tunnel. Proof of this can be found on like page 14 of this thread. On to GSC!

Forest saga

Big Update

After winning the double battle against the galactic grunts, headed north and through the cave and in to floaroma town. healed up team and went to te windworks

defeted the grunt at the door then went back to town and help the honey guy and get the key

once i had the key, healed up and went back to wind works, unlocked door and defeated all the little grunts inside

Boss battle mars

with only having Bibarel to use this battle took a while. zubat went down easy, but always got a toxic in before fainting

Purugly was a pain. opening with fake out (toxic damage >.<)

after that i had to spam headbutt with the hope of winning
(this battle failed a few time)

after eventully winning went back to town to heal up and moved fast as possible to eterna forest

once there caught a Buneary and hoothoot (finally!)
leveled them to 20 (took. freaking. ages. damn hoothoot!)

hoothoot evolves and then i back track to fight all trainers then head through the forest

once in eterna city, leveled team to 22 and then took on the gym

Forest gym Gardenia

turtwig went down after a headbutt but not before it got a reflect in :/

Cherubi took a few headbutts but got healed by super potion and defeted Bibarel

sent out Noctowl, pecked it to death... until fainted anyways >.>

Rosarade opened with stun spore.. i used hypnosis on it then spamed peck. won the battle and got the forest badge

Chapter 3 I'm here to rock your world

OK well i knew i had to train Zippo something severe if he had any chance of beating (big bad) Brock, so i walked down to the Viridian forest again and kept level grinding, till zip reached level 18. I challenged Brock and basically metal clawed my way to victory. Woot woot Badge count 1.

Chapter 4: Lets go over the mountain
YAY i got my running shoes, defeated all the trainers on the way to mt moon nothing much happened leveled up a bit. Then went into mt moon god i hate caves. Once i left the cave i taught zippo both mega punch and mega kick mainly because i could.

Chapter 5 Garry is a tool and Misty annoying
Walked in to town healed up zippo and walked up to face Garry (or as i colorfully named him Gazza) even tough i completely annihilated his team he still talked like he was Better than me.

I continued up nugget bridge fought all the trainers and started heading to bills house made it about half way and got tired and fell asleep (i will update this post tomorrow instead of making a new post)

I wanna do this with dark. On Fire Red I'll hack in like a carvanha and maybe murkrow (emulator). On Crystal, the only pokemon obtainable before the 8th badge is sneasel, so I'll hack in larvitar and houndour respectively (emulator). On Ruby, I'll probbly have a team that consists of: Shiftry, Absol, Crawdaunt. And finally, on Diamond, I'll have Stuntnk, Sneasel, and Drapion.
