G/S/C Ground Monotype Challenge is done.

Red Battle:
Pikachu: OHKO with Golem's Earthquake
Espeon: OHKO with Golem's Explosion
Blastoise: Sent out Nidoqueen, used a max revive on golem, it rain danced. Thunder Punched it, it was paralyzed, used whirlpool. Thunder punch, fully paralyzed, thunder punch KO
Venusaur: It took sun light, i used Ice punch, which frooze it. Ice punched it until it went down
Snorlax: Golem exploded on it.
Charizard: Sent out Poliswine and healed golem with a revive. Flamethrower ko'd Poliswine. Golem survived Flamethrower and OHKO'd it with rock throw

Please read the rules, no hacking starters that cannot be found unless you are using Dark or Steel in FR/LG or G/S/C, and only for those games, and only one low-level Pokemon. The goal is to put together a monotype team consisting of Pokemon that can be found in each game.

You can hack in Heracross if you want, it just won't be accepted here ^_^.

edit: just realized Heracross can be found in FireRed, but only after the Elte Four, lol.

Deribado vs Roxanne still underway. Ive grinded my delibird to lv 27. *groan* lets see if this works out.

Update!

While grinding rocket, Dino made it to level 32 and evolved into a lairon! After grinding for about half an hour, i made it past the meteor cave place, beat maxie, and made it to the gym. Flannery wasn't as hard as i imagined her to be. I thought i would die a butt load of times, but i only died once. I started with dino and took out the first slugma fast. I then switched out to rocket and she died, leaving it with little hp. chompers finished it, and died against her torkoal. In the end, Dino's take down is superior.

Made my way back to petalburg, and fought my "Dad". It was the easiest fight yet. Chompers took out both of his slakings, using fake tears and bite, and after she died, Rocket smacked his vigorath!

I got the basement key from wattson and now i have my final member of the team, Lodestone!

Grinded it to level 30, got the thingy to se the lizards, and challenged winonona..

She was really easy. I used Lodestone to kill all of her pokes except altaria. Rocket kill that.

I made it to mt. pyre, lost the blue orb, got the red orb, made it through their base, surfed to mosdeep, and i'm done for the night!

Hey everyone.

So I'm thinking about doing a single mono challenge, just to see what's its like first, and I think I'm gonna do it on Ruby, with Ground, which should be interesting because I don't particularly have any favorite Pokemon in the ground element. I think if I get enough dual types though (hopefully all of them) it should be fun.

Accidently deleted my game, so i have to start it again.
I did kill Roxanne last time, though, so im sure I can do it again.

EDIT: Take two. This time, I owned Roxanne with pure luck. My Delibird is only lv 20, too. X Attacks, X Defends, Struggle, and consecutive Rock Tomb misses makes me a happy boy.

NOW Im having a hard time with Brawly.

Started Ground Monotype Challenge on Ruby! Put me down for one, Zami!

The journey so far:

Ok, so I started a Ground monotype challenge on Ruby today, with my name as Jacen. Chose Mudkip, SR so it was female, and ended up with a Brave nature, which is awesome. Forgot to name it, though. Will name it Torres as soon as possible. Made my my way over to Petalburg Town, talked to dad, watched Wally catch a Ralts, and then proceeded to catch a Trapinch named Jagnaut, who has Hyper Cutter AND Adamant nature, which is awesome as well, although not entirely wanted, as dragon moves are Special. Oh well. Hopefully these two do for a while until Baltoy and/or Numel can be caught, though I may get a geodude as well. I also caught a zigzagoon to use as an HM slave, though I will upgrade to a Linoone as soon as I can, along with some others (Tentacool comes to mind). I may end up teaching strength to Jagnaut because of its high attack, though.

Made my way through the forest raised my two members to level 15, then went to face Roxanne. I defeated the two gym trainers with Jagnaut's Bite and then killed Roxanne with Water Gun to earn the Stone Badge!

After that, I rescued Peeko, getting the Devon Goods back as well. Went to see the President, who gave me a Pokenav, slightly different than the one in Emerald that I remember. Way cool. May then told me that Mr. Briney had a boat, so I took it to Dewford.

I stumbled around in the dark looking for Steven and found him, gaining a TM, Steel Wing, that I probably won't use. Mudkip evolved into Marshtomp in the cave as well. Then I challenged the gym and got lucky on Brawly with a critical hit OHKO Mudshot on Makuhita with a quarter of Marshtomp's Hp left and Jagnaut dead. Rumble Badge obtained!

Mr. Briney was kind enough to take me to Slateport as well. Trained on the beach, then helped out Capt. Stern in the museum by clearing out Team Magma and delivering the Goods. After that realized I forgot to get Cut, so I went back to Rustboro and the Cutter's House, and taught it to Zigzagoon. Went back to Slateport and started going north, stopping at the Trick House. After finishing the first challenge, I healed up and started to make my way under the Cycling Bridge to Maulville, and that's where I am right now.

Another update!!!

Fought tate and liza, took out everyone of my pokes but Dino and one of my slaves.. The slave was grovyle, but he was just there to fill in.

Found a magikarp and evolved it into a gyarados, and taught it surf, strength, and dive.

I decided to start grinding since i seem way under leveled with only 1 level 40.

Rocket is pretty useless against the reporters. Dino evolved, and destroys them easy.

Got them all to level 40(Dino to 44) and went to the cave for groundon. After defeating team magma, I went to sotopolis and killed groundon. He killed all of my pokes except for Dino, who used blizzard to finish it.

I challenged the sotopolis gym, and almost lost. I kept on reviving Lodestone, but it eventually died by milotoc, so i had to finish it with Dino, since every other pokemon i had was fainted..

I made it to about half way through victory road, and i have to get off cause i have to do something..

Wow this is a really cool challenge. Might actually have me participating this once... Hmmm... I think the most viable option would be Psychic? But I think I maybe going for water since Blastoise is, after all, my favorite Pokemon :D

Got an update on my Ground mono challenge.

Spoiler:

So I'm on my way to Maulville and I find May waiting for me. This battle was annoying. Grovyle and his Absorb were killing me, so I ending up leading with Jagnaut and Sand-Attacking him until he died. Marshtomp, who has been renamed Torres, was able to come in and 3 hit KO him with Mud Shot. I then made my way into Maulville, got an Acro Bike, got a Coin Case from the Lazy Lady, and also picked up HM06, Rock Smash from a random guy in a random house. Taught it to Zigzagoon, who has been renamed Snatch. After fighting all the trainers around, including clearing the way to Vendarturf Town, I went to the gym and crushed it. They were all fodder, especially Wattson's Magemite/Magneton, who are 4x weak to ground...

Upon obtaining the Dynamo Badge, I went east, smashed the rocks in the Rusturf Tunnel, and got HM04, Strength, which I eventually taught to Jagnaut. Then I went north from Maulville, smashed the rocks, and in a small patch of grass, found a Numel, to my surprise, as I had thought I would have to go farther to get one. I quickly caught, but it had a Jolly nature, which is horrible for a Numel, and ended up catching about 20 Numels before finding one with a Quiet Nature, which ups SpA and lowers Speed, which is good (Camerupt: 40 base speed!). Brave would have been even better, but I'll take it. I named the Numel Lavy.

Lavy was at L15, so grinding was needed, till she learned Magnitude at L19. I also taught her Secret Power on accident, but it's better than Tackle, so it's all good.

Made my way to Fallarbor Town, and after a quick delay to get a Blue Flute and TM 28, Dig :D:D:D(taught to Jagnaut), I headed down to Meteor Falls. There I learned of Team Aqua, and also that something big was happening at the top of Mt. Chimney. Apparently, Team Magma wanted all the magma in Mt. Chimney to turn to lava! Not good.

My first battle against Maxie was frustrating at times, especially with Mightyena using Sand-Attack, but I made it through and retrieved the Meteorite. I have no idea why they left it there. It's not like they couldn't overpower me. I 'm just a kid, you know...

Went back to Fallarbor Town, where I traded the useless Meteorite for TM27, Return. Sweeeeeeeet!

Then I made my way down Jagged Peak, ending up in Lavaridge, which is where I am now. Gonna take on the gym next.

One quick Note about Zigzagoon and her Pickup Ability. It's AWESOME! I have gotten 2 Proteins, 1 King's Rock(!), and numerous Super Potions, Full Heals, and a few Full Restores as well!

I helped dawn get her Pokedex back and then travelled south-west until I reached Pastoria City. During the trip Drifloon evolved. When I got there I beat Crasher Wake. I am about to head west.
