I've made it to Ecruteak, and I've caught all the pokemon I'm going to use for Johto. Here's my team:

I just couldn't get past his pidgeot and alakazam...

So I grinded a bit at Seafoam//

I beat him...After some in-match revives..

So i am currently in victory road.
Grinding.

I am not going to post my team as I am typing on my wii atm.

I am trying to continue, but I lost my save. Can anyone tell me a good Gameboy/GBA emulator for a mac? I cannot find a save feature for the mac version of VBA.
 
I nearly forgot about this. I'll finish eventually. Not really motivated enough to do this at the time. Give me some guys.

Oh, and for the record, I'm up to Johto.
 
i yesterday saw some videos on youtube about this challenge and began playing it too. i chose the bug type and started with the crystal version (i know i should have read the rules before starting xD), i'll do the 1st gen later on.

actually i'm in the town with the ghost badge, my team is the following:

l.17 spinarak
poison sting
night shade
scary face
dig

l.23 butterfree
sleep powder
poison powder
stun spore
confusion

l.23 beedrill
poison sting
cut
twinneedle
fury attack

i wasnt able to find any other bugs yet, but i think in the long run i'll definetely need heracross and scyther
 
You could have gotten a Pineco and a Heracross by then. Make sure you get headbutt. I am not sure about Scyther and Pinsir, they are in the bug challenge.

i already headbutted some trees on the route between ecruteak and mahogany but all i found were hordes of spearows, aipoms and ekans =(

but i found a ledyba below ecruteak city and caught a scyther in the contest (and got a berry because i lost xD), so at least i already have a complete team now (i think 5 are enough because i'll soon permanently need slaves for surf or flying on the 6th slot)
 
Pokemon Diamond "Blog" Part 2: Culling the Growth

After defeating Roark, I made way back to Jubilife, but was stopped by Barry, who told me the next gym was in Eterna City, and then left.

When I arrived at Jubilife, I found the Professor and Lucas being roughed up by some Team Galactic Grunts, so I joined up with Lucas to fight them.

After the battle, I went north, through the cave, and found myself in Floaroma Town. To the east, a little girl said her daddy was being held captive, and asked me to save him. After some trouble, I did, and he mentioned the Balloon Pokemon, which was of no interest to me.

After fighting my way north, I found myself in Eterna Forest. At the entrance, a girl named Cheryl asked if she could come with me through the forest, as she was afraid of Team Galactic, she assured me that she would keep my pokemon healed. I took this as the perfect time to train my team.

After training, it was time to leave and part ways with Cheryl. She thanked me, and I was almost at Eterna City. As I entered town, I was ready for my 2nd gym battle...

So i've now moved on to Normal type in Crystal

Started with Totodile as it can learn 4 HMs.
Caught the majority of my planned team before the 1st gym
And defeated falkner with ease.

God, bugs are starting to bug me... so much, I'm avoiding them in my normal (not type... just a normal runthrough :P) playthrough of Diamond I'll be starting soon, haha.

For the life of me, I can't remember what to do after Eterna -.-;
 
After Eterna, you get the Bike, and cross Mt. Coronet for the first time.

Anyway, I have a small update to present after the few days I've been away. I've made no real porgress through the plot, but I've been training my pokemon.
