MisterWives is a trio consisting of frontwomen Mandy Lee (vocals), William Hehir (bass), Etienne Bowler (drums) under the music label of Photo Finish Records. Formed in 2013 and originating from New York city, they are currently touring with The Mowgli's. MisterWives music can be classified under numerous genres, including soul, dance, pop, and folk music. In 2014 they released their first EP, Reflections, which will be the album we will be looking at today.

Daily Music- "Imagination Infatuation" by MisterWives

After taking a listen to their EP, I personally enjoy this band very much and I'm glad to see that they are touring with bands like The Mowgli's which will give them much more exposure. As someone simply put it, MisterWives' music is "think The Lumineers' stomp-clap cadence meets Walk the Moon's sparkling synth-pop hooks, thrown in with a dash of Lee's sassy Aretha Franklin vocals." Already they have been classifed by MTV as The Next Golden Generation of Pop and justly so.​

Most of the songs on Reflections will make you want to shimmy and get your groove on. My favorite song on the LP, Imagination Infatuation, is a combination of strong percussion, high pitched vocals, and "beach guitar" as I like to classify it. When the chorus breaks down it just makes you want to jump and down like nobody's watching. If you haven't already given it a listen, I highly recommend you do and then immediately add it to your car jams playlist.​

Other songs on the EP include Reflections, their most popular song on the EP, which like Imagination Infatuationis a tune you can get your funk on too. Earlier this year it was displayed as iTunes "Featured Single of the Week" and rightfully so. It starts off pretty slow but than gradually escalates into a grooving beat, bringing back fond memories of the era of disco. Twisted Tongue, the song that leads off the album, is very reminiscent of the artist Kimbra, especially when the chorus breaks out. Mandy Lee's high ranging vocals combined with the trumpet flares makes this song a must-listen.
