That's interesting, because I quite like characters who could play for the other team, but for some reason, don't. In the case of some of these, they can be really well-worked into the story - not does one side have to overcome the other, but conflicts in their own side as well.
But they aren't dicks full time though :S
lol I wonder what Freud would say about us? XD I mean, a lot of us like the Joker and Hannibal Lector as a villain, and while most people don't emulate them, it's funny that we are at least intrigued by them.
My mom's a social worker, so a fascination with the insane probably runs in the family. I like how they're unpredictable, mostly.
But bumbling, dumb characters who can't figure things out to save their lives are one of the most enduring stereotypes in fiction, and for good reason. People like them!
I was deliberately avoiding mentioning those characters.
TR: Heehee, we're wearing horribly pathetic disguises that wouldn't fool a two-year-old.
Ash: Hey, who are you?
TR: Um . . . *random profession here*
Ash: OK, sure, that's cool.
TR: By the way, if you leave your Pokemon with us blah blah useless plan blah blah.
Ash: OK! That sounds like fun!
TR: We has ur Pokemon! *runs*
Ash: WTF? Why are you *same profession as above*s stealing my Pokemon?
TR: *take off disguises, often involving Jessie's tightly coiled hair inexplicably springing back out into perfect shape* We're TR!
Ash: Oh ****. Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!
TR: We're blasting off again!
COD: You saved my Pokemon too! Thank you!
Ash: Aw, no big deal.
Brock: Nurse Joy/Officer Jenny! <3<3<3
Dawn: lol
Narrator: To be continued!
See, who needs to watch the anime? I just summed up 420 of the 500ish episodes in one post!
