That was an Islamic quote by the way.
The Hour will not come until the sun rises from the West. When the people see it, whoever is living on earth will believe, but that will be the time when - No good will it do to a soul to believe in them then, if it believed not before
Moving right along, do you believe that the world will come to an end?

Note that I'm not asking you to debate on whether or not the world can end. Instead, I'm asking on whether or not you, as an individual, believe that the world will come to an end either through scientific or religious ways or if you believe that the world always is, has been, and will continue to be.

No I do not believe in the 2012 thing, but I do believe that the world will end when God wants it to end.

Feel free to ignore said quote of you're not Muslim since I'm trying not to offend. It's just that the quote was really dramatic IMHO.

EDIT: Should have been more specific. The 'World' in this context refers to the Universe itself.

I do believe that the world will eventually end. Maybe not human life, but Earth will be useless. The sun will die out, and that'll be end. But, by that time, we might have found somewhere else to live, but maybe not. Now, I don't think that the world is suddenly going to magically go poof, but rather slowly deteriorate.

I do think the human civilization will end, but the world will be until the Sun runs out of Hydrogen.

It would be cool to see the Milky Way and Andromeda kiss in a collision in a few billion years. [/sciencenerd] :3

In a literal sense I know the sun won't keep us cozy forever. Eventually Earth won't be able to sustain life. So I believe The End will come.

But if the end of the world is more figurative for, say, humanity's existence then no, I don't believe in The End. Or rather, I believe it's possible (humans are stupid), but not inevitable.

I do think the world will end, relatively soon (within hundreds of years, rather than thousands) and supernaturally too. I don't have any ideas about what may cause it other than that it will probably be hot, but there's no sense worrying about when it will actually occur, as I'm not going to hit the big button or anything myself. Just keep walking and don't worry your little human head about it.

The world will inevitably come to an end, but there is no way of knowing when it will happen. It's just that there are many phenomenons out there that could destroy the Earth with time. Say that big old black hole in the center of the galaxy? If the Earth even makes it anywhere near that long, that is. Something will happen, somewhere down the line.

I should have been more specific. The 'World' in this context refers to the Universe itself. So do you think the Universe will end?

The universe as a whole? Possibly...though I doubt that matter will ever cease to exist. I personally find the idea of a serial multiverse quite appealing, but I can't say I know enough about the relevant sciences to make a truly informed decision.

Mizam, I never heard that one before. : /

Definatly. Everything has to come to end sooner or later, and the universe is no exception. I just hope I don't have to live to see it.

I don't care, or dwell on the thought; it's not relevant to my lifetime.

So why did I even post here? OVP is about making a show of opinions, and that's mine — that, ultimately, nobody ought to concern themselves with such things.

Sure, I suppose the universe could end one day. Chances are I won't be around for that, though, so I don't waste my time thinking about it. Kind of like I don't worry about the end of the world most days. *shrugs*
