"1997 April issue Cover for MicroGroup Game Review (ゲーム批評) by Ken Sugimori , lineart enhanced from the original sketch posted on Sugimori's twitter. In the interview Sugimori stated "A Pokémon world where people in everyday clothing co-exist with monsters that are both cute and cool. With that as a base, I drew some original characters. Although, they're not Pokémon." This illustration was recently re-published in Sugimori's wonderful official artbook , reiterating those are not official Pokémon designs, unfortunately."
