First of all.. If there's a recent thread about this already, please link to it!

Anyway, the problem I have here is happening for a very long time now..
At first I couldn't be bothered.. but now I really want to upload some attachments!
No matter what I try to attach to a post.. I always get 'Upload of file failed'
I can upload an avatar just fine though..

I searched the forum, and found some pretty old threads with people talking about corrupted attachments.. So I checked my attachments and saw I had one from somewhere in 2006 :P
I asked Jeremy to remove it, he did, but still no luck!

I hope this will be fixed soon :-\

Maybe your attachment doesn't have a valid extension.

    Aka:
avi, css, doc, docx, gif, htm, html, ini, ips, jp2, jpe, jpg jpeg, m4a, mov, mp3, pdf, png, psd, rar, rtf, sav, sgm, swf, txt, wav, wma, xls, xml, xps, and zip.

Also, maybe what you're uploading is too large.
There are Max Filesizes for them.

    Well, that's strange.

vBulletin settings allow you to set a certain amount of space for attachments, so maybe all the attachments in the forum have taken up all that space.

if you are on a windows xp / vista comp, check your built-in firewall settings as well as your browser (IE) security settings - set to medium or allow tPC.

two test attachments uploaded and attached.

Can you explain that again please..
I'm on a computer running Windows.. but I can upload fine on other sites..
I uploading a file when my antivirus/firewall where completely shut down.. but I still get that error.

well it's not your account, permission, or our file system.. so it has to be on your or your isp's end. first place to check is your computer and what it allows or doesn't allow you to do.

As noted in my post, i'm able to upload just fine (jpg and txt though I was unable to do a URL based upload.. [got invalid URL error] mostly likely an anti-leech since I only tried one url.)

I'd advise to try again and see what happens.

I can try as much as you say.. I can't upload files since the crash :-\

    account damaged?

(UPDATE) attachment problems fixed with move to new server. Original post has been quoted below
I thought maybe I'd try uploading attachments to see if the move changed anything.

I've had this same problem before and still do:
I can't upload ANYTHING at all -even with Firewall turned off. Been that way since the last re-start. (possibly my account is damaged beyond repair or something-therefore the only way to upload anything again is to make a all-new account?)
Heh.. yes.. When I searched the forum I found your thread.
But, it was kinda old, 'good' to know you still have that problem :P
That means that there maybe are more people having this problem, so they really should look into it :)
