When I went to paste something from PC onto a Word document, this showed up: [Don't click unless you know what it is, and definitely do NOT install it.]

    https://windowsxp-privacy.net/?id=198760145

Now, I've actually dealt with this "Anti-Virus" program before, and it is actually far from an Anti-Virus program. Everyday it would cause pop-ups of pornography and other explicit material to appear while I was just browsing the internet. (And the odd part is, I never installed it in the first place). It's basically malware disguised as something that's intended to remove malware. It ran unauthorized scans and somehow managed to pick up over 7,000 viruses on my computer. (It also claimed that to remove these I would have to pay for the full version of the product, so it's likely just a scam.) AT&T Security Suite (Relatively Advanced Software) picked up none, so I'm assuming that very few, if any of the viruses the malware picked up are real. Now, what I'm wondering is:

    1) Why did it come back?
    2) Why is it violating my Clipboard?
    3) Has anyone else had experience with this thing before?
    4) How can it violate my Clipboard? o.o;

    1)i'm not too sure,since i use safari
2)hmmm...must be a 1/10 times virus to do such a thing...
    3)nope since i use safari,no pop ups,ever
    4)i have simply no idea

I don't trust it. Maybe a professional would know, like a computer teacher.

I suggest to get the programs Tweaknow registry cleaner and Ad aware. They are suppose to deal with problems like this.

please let me know if this helps :]

I run Ad Aware and Spybot: Search & Destroy in tandem. I've rarely had problems, so you may want to check them out.

As for what you can do now...I'm not really sure. If those programs I mentioned don't pick it up, you may want to see if you can somehow delete and re-install clipboard. I'm not really sure how that would work, but it's worth a shot.

Try Kasperskey Internet Security Scan for viruses
    There's a free 30 day-trial at their website kaspersky.com

If it doesn't go away the only hope is to backup your data and reformat your system

Spybot Search & Destroy (safer-networking.org/en/index.html) in addition with HijackThis (trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis), then analyze your HijackThis logfile here (hijackthis.de/en).

Thanks guys, but in the 5 days it took for a response, it's actually been removed. Just for future reference, if anyone has a problem with AV2008/AV2009, just visit this site and download AVG Free:

I had this same problem with my Vista Notebook and my Dell Desktop. First I ran a virus scan to clean up the files. THen if that didn't work I restored them to before the strange activity and that worked fine. But something affected my Dell Horribly and cleared all the restore Points. But if you can't remember when it started start at a week and keep adding on a day after that. Hope this Helps.
