Been a while since i tried to join a group or make one but what happen to them i can't find a link to user made groups at all ?

We got rid of social groups about a month or so ago. You can join a group in Pokemon Groups or Other Groups now. If there's not a thread for what you wanna be in, then feel free to make your own, after reading the rules for the section of course.

Hey will the social groups ever come back then i really want them back!

I highly, highly doubt it :( They were just not active enough, getting the odd post every now and again, but really no one posted in them. Pokemon Groups and other clubs are now used to replace the social groups and are now getting more activity as people actually go there and post discussions etc.

    Damn Ninja's D:

We got rid of them. We have the Groups forums for the same discussions, and decided to help those gain back the activity Social Groups took away.

    Hope that helps.

EDIT: SYDIAAAAAAN! *shakes fist at ninja*

Thats the problem. The Social Groups didnt take any activity away, the forums were more active and the social groups wernt.

I'm personally fine (Even though I dont go anywhere in the group forums for the most part (ok just not the pokemon one)

If I were to wish for the Groups to come back, is for [Private] Hacking / Game dev teams. But its been disscused and they decided against it.

Just cause. I heard they were looking for "other ways" to use them

This should be closed now :D

I think maybe they should bring them back but only allow people with like 2500 or more post, Maybe even 5000 to create a group. That way so theres not tons of them around just wasting space. Only the most active people would be able to create a group. If they are only able for people with higher post counts you know there active and you know they are known around the community, so you know that people will most likely want to join there group if the topic of the group interest them.

    I disagree.
Just because a member is active on the forum, doesn't mean that they are going to want to create a group and be active in that; I certainly wouldn't.

I think it should be kept how it is and I really can't see them being brought back, sorry.

I didn't say i thought they would return, I just thought it would be good to put out there. Mods always scan through all post you should know that as well as anyone else who has been here a while.

I can't be for sure, but I don't think that they were eliminated because too many people that don't post a lot made them. Adding those restrictions would likely not remove whatever problems they were causing because honestly a post count is by no means any measure of anything except their willingness to post here. And people with posts aren't necessarily known around the community. I've seen people with like over six thousand posts and not once seen them or known them because they post in more secluded sections that I don't visit.

This doesn't seem to be some "Let's take it away and see how things work" kind of thing. The upper staff seemed to have discussed this matter for quite some time and have come to the conclusion that social groups aren't needed anymore. Regardless of the suggestions given, like reputation, I don't think Social Groups are making a comeback.
