Hiya, I am somewhat familiar to competitive battling, but in OU it seems like there are very little variety in strategy (disagree with me if you want, but that's just what I noticed). So, I figured I'd give UU a try, and it's been really rough. So much variety, it's hard to find a team that can do it all. Lately I've been having some gaping holes in my team, usually by the means of Raikou and Alakazam, but I'm trying to remedy that.

I'm also going for a 1st/2nd Gen. team, so if replacements are needed, please keep it to those two, although I'd rather take a Pokemon from a later generation than a Pokemon that I feel is too lame to use in UU (such as Alakazam or Raikou). I'd rather be mediocre with a team I like than pro with a team I hate.

Any help would be appreciated greatly :)

Shaanx (Kabutops) (M) @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Battle Armor
    EVs: 74 HP/252 Atk/184 Spd
    Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Stone Edge
    - Aqua Jet
    - Rapid Spin

Basic lead. SR immediately if a taunt isn't available. Not much else; this guy won't last long anyways.

    Hope (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Magic Guard
    EVs: 252 HP/44 Def/212 SDef
    Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
    - Wish
    - Protect
    - Toxic
    - Aromatherapy

My Special Wall. Wish/Protect for recovery of self and team-mates, Toxic to keep enemies from staying in too long, Aromatherapy to cure any really crippling statuses.

    Balafer (Scyther) (M) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Technician
    EVs: 208 HP/80 Atk/4 Def/216 Spd
    Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Baton Pass
    - Aerial Ace
    - Substitute
    - Agility

Hopefully, this here will solve most of my problems. The biggest thing I suffer from is a lack of Speed, so here I'll switch Scyther in on a Pokemon that can't hit it hard, toss up a Substitute during the switch, use Agility while the Substitute breaks, then Baton Pass to either Venusaur or Houndoom. The extra Speed should help tremendously against Raikou, Moltres, Alakazam and the lot.

Marcanis (Houndoom) (M) @ Life Orb
    Ability: Flash Fire
    EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
    Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Nasty Plot
    - Flamethrower
    - Dark Pulse
    - Hidden Power [Flying]

Special Sweeper. After getting an Agility from Scyther, upgrade again with a Nasty Plot, then hopefully between the 3 attacks, nothing can stop Houndoom.

    Morticus (Weezing) (M) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
    Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Flamethrower
    - Thunderbolt
    - Will-o-wisp
    - Pain Split

Physical Wall. Honestly, I don't like this guy, but I can't think of anyone better to wall physical attacks.

Flowers (Venusaur) (M) @ Life Orb
    Ability: Overgrow
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
    Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Swords Dance
    - Sleep Powder
    - Power Whip
    - Return

Physical Sweeper. After receiving a speed boost from Scyther, use a Swords Dance and proceed to kill everything with Power Whip and Return. I decided that it's a bit dangerous to not have Sleep Powder on this guy, and so I felt it would pay off more than a third attack.

And that's pretty much it. Again, the biggest problem I was having was with Alakazam and Raikou out-speeding everything I had, so hopefully a Baton-Passing Scyther will be able to help remedy it.

Thanks in advance to those that help!

You can beat Raikou and Zam easily by getting rid of that godawful Baton Passing Scyther and use a CB Dugtrio over it. Revenges all but ShucaKou, and nails Zam with Sucker Punch. Also use EQ >> Return on Venusuar so you can actually hit steels for something.

Im kinda eh about Duggy revenge killing zam, it risks a speed tie which is really bad. That and if Zam gets a sub up on your Sucker, then its GG.

Chansey >> Clefable helps with both Kou and Zam.

Also because Dugtrio is VERY common at the moment and what HP Flying hits is few and far between, i suggest placing Sucker Punch over HP Flying and using a Hasty Nature on Houndoom. This allows you to finish frail scarfers and also OHKO Duggy with around 42 Att evs (taken from speed)

Scyther needs getting rid of, it doesnt help. You need a rock resist badly or Aggron can just Rock Polish up and 6-0 you with ease or just spam Head Smash.

Swellow also destroys you once Tops is down and as a sash lead its not lasting long tbh id really like to see more insurance against it such as a sturdy rock/steel that actually lasts.

Lastly, Sludge Bomb >>>>> T-Bolt on Weezing in uu.

Thank you guys for your help so far :) I'm going to go ahead and take pretty much everything you said, Azelf: getting rid of Clefable for Chansey and Scyther for Steelix.

    Slappy (Chansey) (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure
    EVs: 252 Def/252 SDef/4 Spe
    Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Wish
    - Protect
    - Seismic Toss
    - Thunder Wave

    Raxtor (Steelix) (M) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Sturdy
    EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 SDef
    Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Earthquake
    - Gyro Ball
    - Roar

But right now, I've got 4 members that are weak to Fighting: Chansey, Steelix, Kabutops and Houndoom. I was thinking, since it'll be relatively easy to set up Stealth Rock with Steelix, maybe I should get a better lead to replace Kabutops. Are there any really good choices I could put in?

If you're looking to scrap Kabutops then I think you should try out a Froslass. Immunity to fighting/ground and quick spikes would definitely help your team. her great speed is also a nice bonus if Chansey's thunder wave won't cut it.

Froslass isn't immune to ground... but it would be a nice addition, but then you lack a Rapid Spinner which is all too necessary in the UU metagame.

Yeah, Froslass would be nice, but Rapid Spin is too invaluable. So, instead of dropping Kabutops, I decided to trade Houndoom for Ninetales to free up one more Fighting weakness. While it's a bit of a downgrade, I'll see how it works out.

Thanks everyone, by the way! I didn't expect this much help :)
