Name: Imari Anselmi
Nickname: Mari- but usually people just stick to Imari
Age: 17
Element:: Metal
Spells:
Iron Reduction- Imari creates a reduction in Iron instead, which goes to her. This iron can be drained from anywhere, including underground, from cars, etc. The iron begins to form a ball in front of her when this spell is used, and from there she can attack with it- however, usually it's too heavy to do anyways. This requires a bit of concentration, but not an extreme amount. Think, an iron Spirit Bomb.
Shift- Imari has the power to manipulate magnetic fields as well as give objects that usually do not have magnetic fields that property. She can manipulate the intensity of magnetic fields as well; the only downside is that she can only manipulate three fields at a time, leading to a more strategic approach in this attack than usual. This attack would regularly require a good amount of concentration; however, Imari has practiced this attack the most and thus has a better grip on this than most.
Iron Shell- The latest addition to her arsenal; this moves makes her enter what can be described as a chrysalis; and while she can still perform spells within it, she is not damaged unless the outer shell is broken. It requires extreme concentration up to the point it is cast, where it is extremely sturdy. It can only be used once per battle.
Appearance: Imari is a girl with flowing white hair and a black skull cap to go along with it. She has brown skin and is about 5' 5." She is usually seen grinning, and used to wear a gray hoodie and brown shorts that were two sizes too big on her, prompting her to wear a belt as well; although this is quick to change due to her recent outburst of profit- now her wardrobe changes as often as Kenneth's obsessions. Her eyes are big and are a light brown, and she has a watch on her left wrist that she has timed for specific intervals during the day, her next shipment of "contraband," apparently, and any times that seem extremely important to adhere by. She is usually flanked by people who want to buy her wares; however, she is also susceptible to theft, but can hold her own.
Personality: Kind but money-centered, Imari is the prestigious head of the underground black market of the Institute of Magic. She is kind, surprisingly to most; she's had several customers who have looked at her funny to learn that she's not a lynchpin or a descendant from the Italian mob. She is however, quite interested in anything that is worth something. To her, pennies are precious- but likewise, the more the better. She is known for having an obsession with keeping time now that she has a watch with an alarm, and is quite prompt. Hence why, mid-negotiation, she sometimes promises to come back later rather than finish it then. She is also known for giving her honest opinion on anything that does not affect profit; in fact, there are few times where she reduces profit on purpose. She, however, does lie about things that will help boost profit, and she's backstabbed a person or two do get her way.
History: Usually carefree and kind, Imari has slowly become money hungry over the years. Once living in a stable family who worked in the auto industry, she had been kind and had lots of money to spare, loving her mother and father as well as being their only child. She was quite happy and healthy, and continued to do everything she could. It was until an incident that involved her, her mother, her father, and much of the auto industry changed their lives.
At the age of eleven, Imari used Shift- accidentally- when on the day where the employees took their daughters to work, she found herself in front of a myriad of different cars. This was after a falling out with her father's boss, who she yelled at a few times for no apparent- nor important- reason. She had began to wonder about messing around with them- only hypothetically- when she accidently activated her ability. This caused a bunch of chain crashes of cars that were in production, and since she was the only one nearby during the incident, she was immediately accused of being guilty towards it, and conspiring with her father. While there was no conclusive evidence, her father was fired, and her mother had no job to begin with. This led to homelessness, welfare, randomness, the odd job, that kind of thing. But most of all, this led to Imari having a desperation for money; and a realization that she had a power. Her parents, of course, thought it was an accident; but she was aware that it was something else, and kept that to herself.
This carried on to when, some years later, she found herself at a junkyard. She tended to scavenge for old parts and sell them for profit, but today she found a multitude of cars there and such thought she had found the motherload. However, by manipulating Shift, as she had been doing lately, she began to remove the motors. In the process of removing them, her concentration was broken to the point that she ended up messing with one of the cars rather than the target instead, leading to the car going up into the air and crashing back down hard enough that dust was raised, and quickly settled. This, however, did not go unnoticed.
And a few days later, she would receive a letter to Vale.
Now a second year, this money-hungry girl still is money hungry- to the point where she already, in her first year, set up a black market system spanning the entire institute, in covert operation under the nose of the headmaster. Whether or not the headmaster is aware or she is simply allowed to conduct the market, she is not sure; but Imari is definitely sure that it rakes in the cash.
