I must commend whoever it was who told it straight up--indeed, the people who hate Valentine's the most are the ones who have no significant other. Well guess what? I never had a boyfriend for Valentine's Day when I was ya'll's age...and if I did? He didn't get me anything. But I still enjoyed it. My mom would do special things for us, and my friends and I would make gifts for each other. It's a holiday for LOVE--not just boyfriend/girlfriend love.
As for me? I had a WONDERFUL Valentine's day. I came home from college late Monday night, and found 18 pink roses and gardenias on my dining room table. And a big velvet box of chocolates.:) And my boyfriend is paying for me to get my nails done by the best woman in town next week (had to wait...she's prestigous, so she's busy). We went to lunch at a seafood restaraunt and watched Stargate S-G1 (yeah, we're dorks, haha). I unfortunately had to go to school for a half hour, and then I cooked an awesome dinner. And now I'm going to stop elaborating 'cause the rest is personal. ;)
For whoever said that you should express love everyday and not just one day, I feel so sorry for you. You obviously do not know the meaning of real love, and I hope you find it someday.
