VG Controllers

[Hiatus]

Out there, we have a variety of different type of controllers, and each of them are exclusive to a particular console. Of them all, which would be your most favorite, and why? How many of these do you have? If you were to make any change to these controllers, what would it be?

Me--I love the one for 360. It's very easy to hold, and buttons are laid-out in such a way, that it takes only seconds to figure out what does what. Currently, I have two black, and one red. Would get one of those white ones, but I'm sort of afraid that they'd get dirty easily. Alongside, I'm also a pretty huge fan of WiiMote. This might seem a little gimmicky, but that doesn't worry me at all; it haves you utilize your entire body, which, I think, is pretty unique.

As far as least favorite goes, that would have to be N64's. Don't get me wrong, I love this console, but its controller is just a little huge. Unless you have tall fingers, it's also a little difficult to reach one button from another. If it were smaller in size, generally, I'm sure it would've been a lot better.

I like the keyboard for the PC, much keys, very hotkey rebindable, so wow.

PS2 controller for me, just straight up, no nonsense about wireless bs that eventually has to be wired to charge it.

My favourites are the GameCube controller and the 360 controller. Very comfortable controllers.

Also a fan of the Wii Mote. Wiimote + Nunchuck is a great combo.

And I like the Wii Classic Controller Pro for Virtual Console stuff. Just a more comfortable SNES controller really

Wired and wireless controllers are all pretty much the same for me, honestly, as they both have their pros and cons. You might not have to charge batteries for former, but the wiring does get in your way sometimes. Recharging is required for latter, but it's not something that you'd have to do every day; once or twice a week would suffice, in most cases!

My favourites have to be the GameCube controller and the Classic Controller Pro/Wii U Pro Controller, they're all very nice and comfortable to use.

Keyboard & mouse > everything else.

PC gamer master race FTW!

But really, I like the precision & speed that can be afforded with KB&M that you just can't emulate on a controller.

The modern console controller is still based on the classic SNES controller, which was a work of genius by Nintendo that influenced the two dominant console makers nowadays. All Sony did to the design was add two more triggers and the analog sticks, as well as making the triggers analog. The Xbox 360 controller is a further evolution, moving the left analog stick to the d-pad's place and vice versa, once they realized the left stick was being used much more by games than the d-pad.

If you want to play games that require d-pad, IMO nothing beats the SNES controller. It has the best and most accurate d-pad. The N64 had a good d-pad as well.

I think the 360 controller is superior to the PS version but that's down to opinion.

I like the PS2 controller the best. Though most games leave half of the controls without functions lol.

I like the layout of the PS2/PS3 controllers, but the bulk of the 360 controller fits my hands much better.

I use a wired X360 controller for my PC these days. I've seen a few mods around where people have switched the left stick and d-pad, and I'm kinda considering doing it.

If I have to choose a gamepad, I go for the Dualshock 4 nine times out of ten. I hated a lot about the DS3 and Sony fixed all the issues I had with it. I'm in love with it.
I'll go with the 360 controller for a few games (a few being like, 2) and behind that's probably the N64 controller.
Tbh I'm not a fan of the GC controller. It worked wonderfully with Nintendo titles but I felt it sucked for everything else.

Mechanical switch keyboard (Cherry MX Browns?), Microsoft WMO. 360 controller for PC for games that play better with a controller. That should about do it.

The only real preference I have regarding controllers is that I like the left analog stick in the superior position and the right analog stick in the inferior position.

I really like the Dualshock controllers. They're so comfortable imo. I've always been a PlayStation user, so holding an Xbox controller feels so weird to me.

Nintendo-wise, The N64 controller is a nightmare, but the Gamecube controller is pretty nice.

I've always said that if the Xbox 360 controller had the same analog stick layout as the PS3's do, that would be my favorite controller. Something about the mis-aligned analogs has always thrown me off, but I prefer the feel of it in my hands to Sony controllers.

A special shoutout has to go to the SNES controllers as well. I never had an SNES growing up, but I always loved the controller- so much so that I bought a replica USB version. It's a little smaller in my hands than I remember, but I love using it whenever I'm playing any retro games.

This baby right here. Ergonomic, colorful, and that big green button is the epitome of PRESS ME!, much like intended. Asymmetric controllers never were as good as it. Close runner up is the PS2 controller, if only because of how much I'm used to it.

As long as it doesn't have XBox layout I'm cool with anything.
I think Dualshock 4 for me.

The Xbox 360 controller is best. As far as controllers go, it's hard to get much better than this.

As much as I love the system, the N64 controller gets my vote for worst. It seems like it was designed for people with three arms and the joystick breaks down too fast.

most comfortable controller for me has to be the xBox 360 controller. Wired, always has to be wired. and for the other reason of PS3 controller drivers are a pain in the backside to install because windows is like LOL NOPE CAN'T LET YOU DO THAT
