[PokeCommunity.com] Video Ads Being Played Even As A Donator?

It's like literally every page I'm going to ... can you fix this? Those who donate shouldn't be subjected to ads, let alone one's that are constantly trying to play videos ...

I know it's not what you're looking for whatsoever, but have you considered installing adblock? It'll put a stop to those annoying popup ad videos. :3

(Sorry for chiming in, just thought I'd throw that out there. I know it has nothing to do with donators still seeing ads.)

I think it was something that might have sneaked into my browser 'cus it happened on another site. Fixed it though, thanks for the adblocker though! :D

What in the world... I have never seen that in my entire life on PC O_O

It's actually happened a few times to me. Sometimes a random extension will be added to your browser, most likely from some kind if virus on your computer. It's annoying but easy to get rid of.

Thing is, I think this is region based, not whether you are a supporter or not, since even when I wasn't a supporter those things never popped up on my screen.

    Netherlands master region 2014

It's difficult for me to say whether or not it's region based or not, because I've always used AdBlock, but it does seem like it could be virus/malware/adware related. Would region-specific ads be a viable thing? How would that work, code on the page checking your location and if it matches x on a list of countries/regions, display ads? Just not sure how that would work, I'm not a programmer. x:

No idea either, but the Sponsored Ads PC has below the pages are always in Dutch for me so that came into my mind in a instant :v

Try clearing your cache/cookies and relogging if you haven't since the ranks were updated a few months ago.

    what in the hell

to the best of my knowledge pc has never used autoplay video adverts that just show up on the index like that. o_O you may want to check for any browser extensions that you don't remember installing or run a malware scan on your computer.

I know I haven't been around as long as some of you, but I'm pretty damn sure PC has never had video ads and/or ads that just rudely pop up in your screenspace like that.

I think that those ads are set up to feed off of your browsing habits.

I'm 100% sure I never browsed anything which included banking stuff
I never browse anything about Hearthstone either, but that keeps showing up for me. But I have noticed that it does sometimes display ads for things related to stuff I've looked at on the internet. *shrugs*

I have location tracking and browser history tracking to 'make ads more relevant', aka stalk my browsing habits so that Google can sell that information to ad companies without giving me a dime, turned off. It still shows default ads about banking, insurance, or modern things such as hearthstone when I browse PC from my ipad.
