Hack of the Month Voting - May 2017

Hack of the Month is a monthly ROM hack contest that aims to shine the spotlight on the best of the best that PokéCommunity's hacking sections have to offer! Each month, three of the best hacks are nominated and pitted against each other, to be voted on by members of the community to decide the winner. The winner's hack thread is then stickied for the duration of the following month, until the next winner is announced. To cast a vote, simply check out and play (where possible) the hacks that have been nominated and then cast your vote using the poll at the top of this page. If you feel a hack deserves to be nominated for Hack of the Month, feel free to suggest a candidate for next month's competition by posting in this thread and it might just get nominated next month!

My vote is for Orange, it's good to see more GBC revival.

Why is Pokemon Axiom on the list? You can't play the hack, it's just a rough sketch of what it's going to be.

That's what I said... don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to Axiom, but it isn't an actual hack if there is nothing to play, as it stands, it is still an idea/concept.

We want to promote promising hacks regardless of whether they have a playable release. Ideally, all 3 participating hacks would have a release (or all 3 wouldn't), but we'd rather focus on hacks that are actively being worked on.

I think you're right to question this. Hacks that don't have a release kind of have an unfair advantage where it can get votes on perception with out any basis on reality. In theory, you could just come up with a good idea and make up a few fancy screen shots, without actually making a hack, and then win Hack of the Month.

That said, I'm sure Axiom will be a great hack when it comes out.

Honored to see my hack on here, even if it doesn't win. Thanks guys!

I need to crank out an update for you all soon. Best of luck to Axiom and Unbound.

I agreed with the playable rule. Can you guys explan more about how a hack is eligible because my hack Pokemon Dark Realm https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/390535 started in late march, have good story and graphic, with a playable gameplay about 6hours, 4gyms length, and it's not eligible.

I'm not complaining about my hack is not picked, and "actively being worked on" isn't the same meaning with "actively on pokecommunity discord".

Finally I don't think there is another Hack of the Month in next month, when looking at this award history.

Shouldn't have chosen Ruby as a base.

SO if you chose Ruby as a base...you can't win any awards ...that's what you are trying to say?
I think he's trying to say that since Ruby is now extremely outclassed by Emerald, if you're going to make a hack with Ruby, it will need to be drop dead amazing if you want to win any awards. Otherwise, switch to Emerald and use Dizzy's battle engine.
