    VPP Trick-or-Treat 2023

Arrived at a spooky time of year. Celebrates it by going up to strangers and demanding candy. Considers you too old for this tradition, though. Sorry.

Do not fear, however! Tasks you with escorting a young Pokemon to others' homes. Might share some of their unwanted candy with you, as a bonus.

    How does it work?
First, fill out the short sign-up form below. For the Pokemon, select any regular, not fully evolved Pokemon. (Relies on the older Pokemon to hand out candy.) Do not pick single stage Pokemon either.

    Pokemon:
    Current post count:

Raises this Pokemon alongside your other Pokemon. Do not worry if you are in the middle of raising others. Takes 200 posts to be complete, with no seasonal or club discounts. May continue raising this Pokemon after the event end date. Cannot use this Pokemon for challenges until after the end of the event, however, if you finish the Pokemon before the event ends.

Mentioned taking the Pokemon places. Posts a "home" (see: a thread) for you to visit every 24 hours. Simply post in the designated thread once during that day to "visit" it, then link the post in this thread. On Desktop, look for something like "#2" (or whatever number) at the very top-right of your post. Right-click it and hit Copy Link. (Cannot help mobile users. Try your best? Post in this thread, at minimum. Will figure it out from there.)

Rolls a random number for you after you visit the home. Might get candy or points. Could also play a trick on your Pokemon. (For transparency: Potentially changes your Pokemon.)

Ends this event on November 1 at 12:01 AM EST.

Why not get things rolling right away?

Today's home: Sloganeering in Forum Games. Visit it by midnight, Eastern Standard Time (US). (See: 24 hours from this post.)

Signs up for this, of course.

(Edited in the first link for Day 1. Seemed a bit silly to triple-post in one's own event. Plans to post separately on the other days.)

Visited a small shack near a beach. Met a Pelipper at the door. Shouted "Wild Happiness!" while giving out candy. Must be the trendy phrase nowadays.

Posted a temporary stat block below for the Pokemon, if you want it. Consolidates everything at the end of the event too, for ease of bookkeeping.

Signs up for this, of course.

Today's prize for you: Turned your Rowlet shiny. Handed out gum for sparkly fresh teeth. Became a little sparklier all over instead.

Rolled above 90 for two people. Quite a start.

Visits the next place down the street: a Trick House. Overheard all the young Pokemon chattering about their costumes. Dressed up as what they wanted to be when they evolved, in some cases.

Headed over to the job center house. [Link].

Your trick today: Transforms into Pawmo. Returns looking a little different. Checks to make sure this is the Pokemon you arrived with. Coaxes out, after a fit of giggles, that they put on a Pikachu disguise beforehand as a prank. Kids these days.

    Job Market Place: [Link]

Your trick today: Transforms into Roaring Moon. Definitely did not escort this behemoth around. Asks what the deal was. Discovers that the Kirlia you took to the home got hired to mislead Pokemon with telepathy. Did not really work out for Roaring Moon. Roared way too much. Took a toll on its throat.

Inquires why Roaring Moon flew up to you. Always wanted to try the whole trick-or-treat thing, supposedly. Never held events like this in the past.

Calls the Pokemon Center that held this event. Receives permission from Kirlia's parents to end it. Begrudgingly agrees to take Roaring Moon around.

Your trick today: Transforms into Fletchling. Immediately notices a red spot on your Pokemon. Assumes something like fake blood at first. Tries to clean it up. Turns out to be red feathers with some teal dye on it. Masqueraded as a Rowlet in a costume. Clever idea, right?

    (Note: Remains shiny.)

    Rolled no higher than 15.

Crosses by Gym Leader Katy's home in Cortondo. Decorated it with fake Tarountula webs. Hands out professionally-made caramel candy. Triggers a heated discussion of how to pronounce "caramel".

    Tug o' War 6: [Link]

Your trick today: Transforms into Galarian Zigzagoon. What, did you think those little roars came from an actual dragon? Practiced a lot of punk music. Screams a lot, but not to that degree.

    Joined the war. [Link].

Your treat today: A Star Alcremie Sweet. Claims that the Star Alcremie Sweets taste too "yellow". Tosses it over to you.

    3) Tug o' War 6 - Console Gaming (+1) vs PC gaming (-1)

Posted there earlier today, but I'm not gonna try and get that link on mobile lol

Your treat today: 25 points. Wrapped the candy in a coupon to the bakery. Grabs the wrapper after your Fletchling immediately eats their candy.

Today's house: Any thread in Pokemon General. Head over there and post in the next 24 hours to receive a treat (maybe). Accepts a post in an existing thread or a newly created thread.

Passes by Malie City on this very ambitious trick-or-treating route. Stops at the house of a gym trainer. Erected of a statue of "General Surge" on their lawn. (Clearly lost something when taking the Kanto Gym idea.) Lit up the area to keep ghosts at bay. Offers mainly sour candy, as a "shock" to the tongue.

    Visited the general store. [Link].
Your prize today: Turns Pawmo shiny. Bit into one piece of pink sour candy. Turned pink a minute later. Must have been made with Pinkan Berry. A casual 100 roll.

    Pokemon General: [Link]
Your prize today: -10 required posts for Galarian Zigzagoon. Gobbled down a rainbow candy wrapped in blue paper. Suspects it was a Rare Candy.

Your trick today: Transforms into Teddiursa. Notices Fletchling looking sleepy and closing its eyes every so often. Catches another volunteer yawning a lot too. Proposes switching Pokemon with them to allow both of them to get rest. Results in their Teddiursa falling under your care.
