Wanting to start a new hack but I don't have the tools and don't know where to get them.

    So I used to make my own little hacks of the S/R/E gen 3 series for fun. I got a new computer and my other computer pretty much died before I could move the tools over. I had had the tools for like 3-4 years so I forget where I had gotten them from. I'm a new member and I want to start the new hack I've thought up. Where would be the best place to get the new tools?


    I'm new here so I didn't know where to look, so thanks for all the help.
     
    You may find the tools you're searching for at the Toolbox subforum of the Emulation section.

    Any particular thread in tool box I went there and ended up just getting kind of confused...

    By the way I just want to do the old S/R/E Rom hacks for now to get off my feet again.
     
    It's been a while since I've ever been into ROM hacking, soI don't really know too much about the tools anymore; however, I do recommend some popular and helpful tools such as AdvanceMap as well as the tools in HackMew's Tool Factory. There's also a nice scripting tool called "XSE" that I remember using.

    But like I said, I don't really know how the tools are now, so your best bet is to try asking in the Simple Questions thread located in the Emulation & ROM Hacking section. Whenever you need to find the ROM Hacking forum again, on the index page of the community, just scroll down until you reach "Creative Discussions," and you will find it within that section!
