Where the supporters come together and make this forum more active.

I think we're all too lazy to keep it active all the time, but a day would be fun. :3

It's hard to get all the supporters to work together and make this forum active.

We've tried but for some reason it's always failed.

There was a day where all the supporters came together and the place was busy as heck, but it didn't end well. XDDDD

The reason why I suggested a DAY was because if the supporters try as hard as they can for a day, and the place is booming and exciting, maybe it would give us inspiration to do it more often.

The thing is, I think the answer is simple but we haven't found it.

It seems like a lot of the problem is the reputation of this forum. No one is going to want to go to a forum that is always complaining about not being active, naturally. If we could change the way only A FEW PEOPLE feel about this forum, I think a trend would start and it would attract the other supporters to jump in.

Just like the day we all started spamming it, EVERYONE was jumping in. They recognized that people were actually enjoying being here, so the activity grew and grew.

But spamming isn't the answer.

I think what turned people on to the spam day was that it was unique and different from what we had seen from any other forum on the site. If we could find that uniqueness, and find something to actually make this forum a treat to be here, WITHOUT breaking the rules, it would be perfect.

It's kind of impossible to start thinking about how we want this forum to be and actually take action on it until the forum is more active and there's a better atmosphere about the place.

Same with events. If we just jumped right in into "LET'S GIVE THIS FORUM EVENTS AND AND STUFF! :D" While the forum is still inactive it wouldn't really work because it would be too hasty of a change.

If the forum had a better atmosphere and rep about it, people wanted to be here, etc, I think events and changing the forum around would sort of fall into place.

But then there's the problem with actually making the forum active naturally. There's a thin line between a fun forum and a spam fest, and it's really hard to picture how we could make this forum funner while still following the rules.

When you say inactive I assume you mean this specific sub forum not the site as a whole? Because over a 100 members online at almost any time of the day is pretty dang good for any forum. Saying we need to get all of a number of people together for one day is good on paper, but in practice do you really think a majority of the Supporters could come together for an event that lasts a day? People have plans, work, school and so on. So PC is not going to be a top priority at this time. If we do have an event then why not center it around Black and White since the world wide release is just around the corner.

By the way, the Black and White section is having about 7 or so events anyway on the release date and onwards, so yeah. :x

Well for the questions what would make me want to post here above the other forums. Would be absolutely nothing, all I have seen as of late is just games like you could find in Other Trivia or just random topics that fizzled out. The last topic that I remember that actually involved our opinion was color changes for our user group which still have yet to go into effect. What would be unique for supporters then outside us getting involved with more forum affairs?

I know what you mean. Say your a new Supporter and you are all gun ho about this and think the Supporter forum is going to be something extraordinary, but when you get he you find it is a waste land of outdated topics who's discussions have long since passed. So if they see this then they are probably a little discouraged too pitch an idea or inject activity too this place themselves since they see no point.

As for involvement, it is obviously up to the staff to what extent they want to involve us. But I agree it would be nice if they would run stuff by us at the very least so we could give some input on things that actually make a difference or things like new features, and so on. We are guinea pigs to some extent, but that is usually when it comes to new board styles.

Games aren't spam, and they can be unique and different. They're the same old things you can do in Other Trivia but maybe if there was clever spin on them that made them feel exclusive like the supporters forum is supposed to feel, it could be fun.

Or maybe a Supporters Edition RP. I don't even know how that would work but I'm just brainstorming on attracting people. XD

We can't spam but we can do fun stuff. I don't think there was a rule on only making discussion threads.

I don't really see the point in having a forum like this anymore. Once upon a time, this forum hosted a lot of feedback, suggestions, questions, and ideas for new things that were brought up and eventually implemented - or, at the very least, discussed seriously. Now this forum is just OVP + OC + limited access. Occasionally there are a few topics that should go here that fall into that category and wouldn't fit in OVP or OC, but not enough that really merit an additional forum.

Aside from that, there really isn't a point to the forum. To me this is just a spam forum. Nothing more, nothing less. If, somehow, it goes back to what it used to be (and even then it wasn't exactly all that active in those regards either), then maybe my mind would change. But until then...

But, Kenshin, this forum is for supporters. Not staff. The staff have our version of this forum as it is. Steve stated that this forum is what you guys make it, and I am inclined to agree with him. Unfortunately, you guys decided to make it something less than desirable. Aside from that, staff shouldn't be posting in these forums unless they've donated. But if you think that things are going to be run by you before they're implemented, it's important to note that they aren't even run by moderators - unless it's something big - before they're implemented.

That's not to say that I disagree with you saying that it'd be nice for supporters to be more in the know about things, however.

Instead of just discussing it, make the threads. I've tried many times to make this place active and it never seems to work because others don't really make threads, and considering my recent thread got pretty much no attention as of now I've kind of given up on this forum. Why bother trying to change something that has people that doesn't want to save it, anyway? It's like putting effort into something when others don't even bother to try either.

And thing is, I don't think you can all ever make this forum active. You keep saying words, but not actions. When you finally make some actions, well, more than some, then maybe there will be a chance but really Nick's right in saying that this forum is pretty much useless now.

Alternatively, give up on this forum and work towards making other PC sections active that do need the activity. Maybe a better way to spend your time brainstorming instead of coming up with ideas you'll never do. Because every month you seem to have these types of threads and every time people say "oh we'll change", but you don't, so unless someone really tries hard, nothing will ever change. Sad to say, but it's all of your faults why it isn't active - I've done my part, now it's everyone else's turn.

In other words, make your forum into what you want or just give up and make other dead PC sections active that need activity. And sorry if this comes across as harsh or something like that, but really, it's the truth. Aside from the spam day, not many have made an effort in years. So yeah. :x

Now that I think about it, getting rid of the VIP forum might not be such a bad idea.

Sorry to single you out, but you have just proved what I have been saying.
People want more from the forum, then they can't be bothered.

If you really want this place to lift off. Get together with other supporters and really think what can be done to improve it. Don't get bored or just give up.​

you are mostly right on this one, the only things we can only talk about here that I can think of are having this particular forum and forum styles in testing. and of those 2 we have a separate forum for each one.
