  • I have been going thru all of the Original strong moves ie Ice Beam T-Bolt. It seems to me that they made those moves weaker by 5 points. Is there anything else that people have notice that are weaker or not as effective?

  • Dragon Pulse and Aura Sphere were also slightly lowered, and so were the 120 power counterparts of the moves you mentioned.

It's a bit weird, yeah, but 5 points don't usually make that much of a difference.

Probably have to do with the Mega evolutions. But like Nova said, it doesn't really make much of a difference.

That was fire blast. Hydro pump was always 120/70

I'm almost positive both fire blast and hydropump had the same accuracy at 85 while both blizzard and thunder had the same accuracy at 70. I do not believe hydropump has ever has 70 accuracy.

The 120 moves did get nerfed, but now their accuracy was raised! 110 base power isn't that bad.

Accuracy wasn't raised for any of the 120 moves that had their power lowered. They are the same as they were in Gen 5.

Hydropump is 110/80. It was 120/80.

A list of all the moves that lost power:

Aura Sphere from 90 to 80.
Blizzard from 120 to 110. (Accuracy still 70)
Draco Meteor from 140 to 130.
Dragon Pulse from 90 to 85.
Fire Blast from 120 to 110. (Accuracy still 85)
Flame Thrower from 90 to 85.
    Heatwave from 100 to 95.
    Hurricane from 120 to 110.
    Hydropump from 120 to 110.
Ice Beam from 95 to 90.
Leaf Storm from 140 to 130.
Meteor Mash from 100 to 90
Muddy Water from 95 to 90.
    Overheat from 140 to 130
    Surf from 95 to 90.
    Thunder from 120 to 110.
    Thunderbolt from 95 to 90.

That so far seems to be the debuffs...A lot of things got buffs too...like Gunk Shot stayed at 120 and moved to 80% Accuracy I think. Syncronoise moved from 70 BP to 120 BP.

That is all of the discovered changes so far.

Ah, so Surf did get nurfed. Meh. I suppose it'll work to your advantage at times, and other times it won't.

  • Also Many of my pokemon still had Base 40 Power moves until level 48.

Game Freak does not ever want to tinker with the base stats of Pokemon species from game to game. (they seem to have this time, according to Serebii).

Instead of making your favorite pokemon weaker, they just tweaked the power of the moves down a bit.

Pokemon can become a Shooting Gallery if Sweepers are made too strong. Each Pokemon should be a unique challenge and not just another Duck in a row.
