So, what Pokedex entries do you guys think have been the weirdest or funniest over the years? For me, it's Black 2's Swablu entry. Apparently, it likes to softly land on people's heads and pretend to be a hat.

The Swablu one made me laugh.

Banette generates energy for laying strong curses by sticking pins into its own body. This Pokémon was originally a pitiful plush doll that was thrown away.
A discarded bug shell that came to life. Peering into the crack on its back is said to steal one's spirit.
It arrives near the moment of death and steals the spirit from the body
    [Lampent]

It is whispered that any child who mistakes Drifloom for a balloon and holds onto it could wind up missing.

Because it stores several kinds of toxic gases in its body, it is prone to exploding without warning.
    [Koffing]

Am I the only one who browses the internet for creepy 'dex entries?

That Swablu entry also made me laugh. Here are some more unusual entries, even though there are a whole lot more, this is what I could find so far:

"Darumaka's droppings are hot, so people used to put them in their clothes to keep themselves warm. "

"It has been said that they swallow those who get too close and turn them into mummies. They like to eat gold nuggets."

"A sweet sap leaks from its tail's tip. Although not nutritious, the tail is pleasant to chew on."

"These Pokémon are called the "Signpost for Wandering Spirits." Children holding them sometimes vanish."

"During the study of this Pokémon, it was discovered that its components are not found in nature."

    Pidgeot (R/B):

When hunting, it skims the surface of water at high speed to pick off unwary prey such as Magikarp.

I always thought that was interesting because it proved that Pokemon do eat each other.

    Darumaka (White):

Darumaka's droppings are hot, so people used to put them in their clothes to keep themselves warm

My ancestors used to put poop in their clothes too!

Next here's a pair that are really creepy. Naturally they're both ghost types,

    Haunter (SoulSilver)

Its tongue is made of gas. If licked, its victim starts shaking constantly until death eventually comes.

    Yamask (Black):

Each of them carries a mask that used to be its face when it was human. Sometimes they look at it and cry.

Both of these are pretty scary, but Yamask's really creeps me out. I find it awkward raising and training something that is officially stated to have once been human. This is worse than the Gastly/ Cloyster theories because it's real.

Magikarp is an interesting case (when it's not being eaten by Pidgeot that is) because it has two entries that contradict each other.

    The first is from Heartgold;

An underpowered, pathetic Pokémon. It may jump high on rare occasions, but never more than seven feet.

    And this is from Platinum:

A Magikarp living for many years can leap a mountain using Splash. The move remains useless, though.

Scariest Pokedex entries would definitely have to be each one of Lampent's. They really went insane with these ones.

This ominous Pokémon is feared. Through cities it wanders, searching for the spirits of the fallen.

It arrives near the moment of death and steals spirit from the body.

The spirits it absorbs fuel its baleful fire. It hangs around hospitals waiting for people to pass on.

The White dex entry in particular even mentions death. OH MY GOD.

Also, one worth mentioning is Heatmor's White dex entry. This one was really gross to read, I do have to admit 5th Gen did cross the line with a few of their Pokedex entries.

Using their very hot, flame-covered tongues, they burn through Durant's steel bodies and consume their insides.

I guess it does relate to the fact Durant is Heatmor's prey so I guess it is justifiable.

Litwick/Lampent/Chandelure suck up souls, then burns them.

Litwick (Black): "Litwick shines a light that absorbs the life energy of people and Pokémon, which becomes the fuel that it burns."

Lampent (White): "It arrives near the moment of death and steals spirit from the body."

Chandelure (Black/White 2): "The spirits burned up in its ominous flame lose their way and wander this world forever."

    Creepy.

    Yamask (Black):

Each of them carries a mask that used to be its face when it was human. Sometimes they look at it and cry.

Both of these are pretty scary, but Yamask's really creeps me out. I find it awkward raising and training something that is officially stated to have once been human. This is worse than the Gastly/ Cloyster theories because it's real.[/I]

I always thought this is pathetic. "they look at it and cry" man stfu and evolve into the cool thing god damn it!

Sorry if it makes you mad......one man's opinion.

Using its tail like a spring, it keeps its heart beating by bouncing around constantly. If it stops, it dies.

WTF GameFreak? Poor spoink. This is its pokemon black and white 2 entry BTW

Magikarp's Pokédex entries in Platinum and Gen V state that if it lives for many years, it can scale a mountain with Splash…but the move remains useless. That's one I find very funny.
