Im not good at pronouncing Pokemon names. xD

I always called Sharpedo "Shar-pedo", not "Shar-peedo" like its supposed to sound.

See what Im getting a? o_o
Now I'm imagining someone shouting that out when they send out that pokemon. XD Would be an interesting way to get the mental advantage on your opponent though!

Most of the Pokemon Black names are like opposite of what I think their pronounced. Like

Au-Di-no

I think it's
Au-Dee-No =_=

/sneaks in
When I was younger, I tended to pronounce the Pokémon names the way a common Portuguese person would, but then as I started getting better on my English I started pronouncing them the right way.

Also, what the hell is with the title?

Lmao, the title changed again. XD

Anyway, if I don't know how the name is suppose to be pronounced. I always look up over the net or ask my friend. ^^

I just say it and hope someone knows which one im talking about.

If not, I'll just describe it.

But some of those descriptions... Not so great. I still can't describe apibom or licklickky (however they are spelled.) without laughing. Probably because of my choice of description though.

Ambipom is a cute Pokemon, so I don't know what makes you laugh about it .. :3

I'd generally wait until the anime debut to make my mind up on the pronunciation. One I find humorous on how I used to pronounce is Kyorge. I used to say Kay-Ogre.

I haven't seen it in the anime, can't remember what it looked like in the games. But I saw a picture of it in a game guide for Platinum.

I was stoned at the time, but the fingers on its tail-hand looked like circumcised penises.

Kyogre wasn't that hard for me, although the first time I pronounced it was pretty funny. XD

I think Enn-tay is right.

Still have no idea how Raikou is supposed to be pronounced though.

I always say "Rai-coo", as in Raichu and coo like a dove.

How about Suicune? I say Swee-koon but other people say weird things, especially the ones that took Japanese haha.

I have it on this computer and I can comfirm it's "En-tay". :)

En-tay, yup, that's how I pronounce Entei as well as Swee-koon for Suicune. XD

I've never understood why the Pokemon dub pronounced Raikou as 'Rai-coo'.. XD; Kou in Japanese is pronounced like 'co' as in 'cooperate', or 'co-pilot', etc. So it's correct pronunciation is 'Rai-co'. That's how I've always said it, and I say Entei as 'En-tay'.

If it were pronounced as 'En-tie', the end of it would be spelled 'tai', so 'Entai'. owO
