4th Gen What brings you back?

EV training. Just... the simple, mindless massacring of Bidoofs, Buizels, Abra and others alike... it's just so aluring.

And it's quite funny to see me jump back to Golden Sun again, because they have little button-like icons, and I keep on trying to push them with the stylus, and then I remember it was a damn GBA game =P

Now what brings me back is when I go thru my pokemon collection and see pokemon with a unique moveset, or good nature, or both, I work on training them. Just like recently I found a female pikachu with a hasty nature that has volt tackle and brick break along with quick attack and thunderbolt with a light ball and I was like, why did I stop training you? Also a Roserade with leaf storm, hp electric, sludge bomb, and sleep powder so I decided to train those guys.

lol because light ball gives pikachu 2x attack and sp.atk and if trained well it can do a good bit of damage to walls like snorlax and blissey. plus it helps out with rock types since I don't have a grass knot ya know lol

Making my PKMN stronger and battling people over Wi-fi are my top reasons. Wi-Fi more liley. But I haven't touched my Pearl in a while, only for the Shaymin event............*boots up DS with Pearl* XD

I keep playing for my Ev training and to find a way to beat my brother. (urrrg I have never found a way)

Competitive battling. At this point in time, seeing how there isn't much of it to do in my area, I haven't played Pearl for maybe a month. The release of a new game (Platinum specifically) usually rekindles the flames, and we get things going again.

The last time we had a competitive flare-up, most of the people I knew who had the game trained up many high-class teams, but it filtered out to only a few people. I know guys who have had an excellent, bulked-up team, but they're saving them for Platinum. I guess a shiny new cartridge brings new sentiments.

Honestly pokemon platinum has brought me back into the fold. I haven't touched my pearl in months but recently traded it in to go towards platinum. For me all the new features were too much to pass up. I mostly excited about all the new stuff accessible after defeating the Elite Four. Which for me was when pearl got boring.

Always breeding to get nice IV pokemon, it's addictive.
Also working on silly things like collecting all the pink shinies.

Battle Tower and Competitive Battling.
I retired since G/S and came back recently

I love to battle and shiny hunt.
My goal in Pearl is to collect all 493 Pokemon shiny.. or at least all Sinnoh Pokemon shiny..
That'd be;

Freakin' Sweet nyahehehe.. [If you don't know where this is from, you need to watch TV more.]

I enjoy collecting shinies for my friends as well and trading them off, and of course Wifi battle on occasion is very fun.

I had a shiny golduck...but then I restarted....

And just the game itself brings me back, I mean, I go off the games for a while, find the story getting a bit boring (Because all the Pokémon games are based around the same story REALLY...) but then, when you're bored and have nothing left to do you find yourself picking up your DS and playing again, just to see if maybe you can do a bit better than last time. Seriously, I picked up my old Gameboy Colour the other day and restarted Crystal, JUST to get the feeling that im six years old again, sitting under a desk lamp playing a game.

Wow, my reply was long-winded...

There are many things that bring me back to my Diamond and Pearl carts..

Most recently, I started my Flying-type run on pearl. It's challenges like these that make me want to play again. [After I'm done with the flying type run, I'm starting a Larvitar only run].

And I normally pick up my diamond cart when I start to think "Boy, my pokédex sure is empty" [My seen count is around 390, my caught count is around 240], Then I go on a catching spree. And there's also about 500 failed attempts at chaining shinies, and pokémon I keep meaning to EV Train [Like my Vaporeon].

The only reason I play my Diamond is if Ive found someone on here who would trade with me.

I only need, like 5 pokemon, to complete the pokedex.

Its incredibly frustrating xD

I can't seem to stay back in my Diamond. Platinum has me hyped up and all my poke's are powerhouses...and sadly my wi-fi seems to hate me with random disconnections...my life sucks, a little.
