Tom because my friend in real life (his name is Tom as well) is kind of my rival. Actually, he's more like my best friend than a rival but it's fun to see his name there. As for their personalities, they are completely opposite.

since the guy's hat was a little too big for my liking so i chose the girl adn named her Thorn. I than named my rival Bone. (both characters from Bone)

I thought the rival was going to be like gary, only a lot more boring, so, when it asked me, I thought, "Simon Cowell!" and named him that.
