To some people a Power House is one of the strongest if not the strongest pokemon on the persons team, or a pokemon that could take out multiple pokes and keep on going. So what pokemon in the anime have we seen that would warrant the title of Power House? And out of those Power Houses which is your favorite?

    Mewtwo and Mewtwo haha.

Ash's Pikachu is definitely a power house too.

I was thinking more along the lines of trainers pokemon. Obviously Legendaries can wipe the floor with people teams like Tobias Darkrai for instance.

Powerhouse depends on the type of Pokemon and their type. That's how I judge it. I would consider Ash's Sinnoh team as a powerhouse. Usually a Pokemon team that are all in their final evolve form.

To me, a powerhouse is a Pokemon that has defeated a good portion of Pokemon during its trainers' ownership. Out of those powerhouses, I like Ash's Sceptile the best because of its personality as Treecko and Grovyle.

A powerhouse in my opinion, is just a powerful final stage Pokemon, with powerful moves and can hold it's own in a battle.

Examples would obviously be most of Ash's fully evolved Pokemon, like Charizard and Torterra. Other examples Ash has caught would probably be Pokemon like Muk and Kingler. I guess Pikachu could be seen as a powerhouse because of it's powerful attacks, plus it has been seen to surpass the power of a Raichu twice.

I think A pokemon like Mamoswine would be seen as a powerhouse for a trainer like Dawn.

Yeah, in my opinion a powerhouse is a pretty strong, usually evolved pokémon (Pikachu is more of a super-powered glass cannon), capable of easily obliterating an entire team of an inferior trainer's pokémon, but also able to put up a tough fight in a league / gym battle (particularly league).

Examples would be Paul's Drapion, Electivire and Torterra. Magmortar and Ursaring too, although they haven't been shown to be especially good. That guy from the Silver Conference's Blaziken was definitely a powerhouse too - it even took down Charizard (albeit sustaining serious, almost-fatal injuries in the process). Drake of the Orange Islands' Dragonite would be another. As would Lance's Dragonite and Gyarados.

From Ash's pokémon, I would say Infernape, Charizard, Sceptile, Snorlax, Torterra maybe (although it's also defeated rather easily, I'd say that's partial lack of compatibility with Ash, who works best with fast, powerful pokémon), and Heracross. I could see Tepig eventually becoming a powerhouse (although I'd rather it stayed unevolved), and possibly Snivy or even Oshawott.

Obviously, Infernape, Charizard and Sceptile are the defining powerhouses. Sceptile was uber-strong, easily overcoming type disadvantages against May's Blaziken, and defeating a Darkrai (Which was weakened a little by others), even snapping out of Dark Void-induced Sleep. Infernape, with its' Blaze, is incredible, particularly when you consider what it did to Paul's Electivire after taking all that damage. Charizard is another obvious powerhouse, defeating legendaries and just about everything else it's ever faced, except for a Charmander (because he effectively forfeited) and whatever froze his wings. Charizard, like Sceptile, has overcome type advantages, when battling against Blastoise.

So yeah, that's who I consider powerhouses to be. And I have just realised how huge this post is xD

Harrison's Blaziken was a pretty big powerhouse, from what I remember. Maylene's Lucario was another Pokemon that made her somewhat strong, her other two Pokemon seemed kind of lackluster. Finally, Ash's Charizard, while it hated obeying him, kind of outclassed the rest of his team, save Pikachu, in both the Kanto and Johto League Championships.

A powerhouse is relative to the rest of the team. Sure, Charizard and Sceptile are probably the strongest pokemon Ash owns, but there was a time when the strongest pokemon on his team was Pidgeotto. Early in his Sinnoh journeys, Ash's strongest pokemon was Buizel. No, it didn't remain his strongest, but at the time I would have referred to it as his powerhouse. In his overall team, those that could be labeled as such would range from Charizard as the strongest down to Donphan at the low end of that range.

To me, a powerhouse means something that can rely on pure power for offense and defense rather than speed or strategy to defeat its opponent. Look at it this way. Heavyweight boxers (powerhouses) rely on power and can knock out most people in 1-2 hits plus take a ton of hits. Lightweight boxers rely more on speed and strategy, usually taking out opponents slowly and can't take as many hits.

Charizard, Infernape, Sceptile, & Snorlax are Ash's main ones. I would consider Paul's Torterra a powerhouse but not Ash's yet.

A powerhouse is a Pokémon that has displayed extraordinary strength in battle and continues to do so. A good way of determining if a Pokémon is a powerhouse is if it has defeated a Legendary Pokémon or if it has defeated multiple Pokémon within a single battle on either multiple occasions or one standout occasion.

Ash's Powerhouses: Charizard, Snorlax, Sceptile, Infernape, Staraptor, Heracross, Glalie, and Pikachu. I believe Ash's entire Kanto through Sinnoh team (aside from Ambipom, Torkoal, and Gilbe) could be argued. Heck, I'd even be willing to listen why Palpitoad or Swadloon are powerhouses. However, I can't guarantee I'll agree.

Brock: Steelix, Crobat, Ludicolo, and Croagunk.

    Misty: Gyarados, Politoed, and Staryu.

    Tracey: Scyther.

    May: Blaziken, Glaceon, Venusaur.

    Dawn: Mamoswine, Togekiss, Quilava.

    Iris: Excadrill.

Cilan: Dwebble and Pansage could be argued.

And I'm not going into rivals or anything like that.

No way is Ash's Torterra a powerhouse. It was easily defeated by Volkner and Paul, so I'm against this one. Ash's powerhouses were Charizard and Sceptile, IMO
