What do you think the new Rotom Form will be like?

So, in on of the eShop trailers, it shows a new form of Rotom in a modified Pokedex. In the trailer, it's shown to be able to communicate with you normally, as if it were a conversation between humans. How do you think this is going to work in-game? Is it going to be reminiscent of HGSS/GSC's Pokemon walking feature? Or perhaps, it'll be like an NPC, in that it'll only speak with you in scripted cutscenes? What do you think?

I think there will be some cutscenes with the Rotom Pokedex, but generally I guess there will just be speech bubbles that pop up on the bottom screen whenever it talks to us. I think it will talk whenever there's a scripted event or a new rare Pokemon the player has yet to discover, let's just hope it doesn't get too annoying...

It's likely not going to be following you around in the overworld (trailers proved this) but it has been shown to be able to detect special Pokemon, in a new unknown feature similar to the DexNav from OR/AS.

The thing I'm most confused about the "Rotom-Dex" is, does it count as the obtaining of an actual pokemon? Can I play with it on my team after acquiring it? Does this form actually give Rotom new battle properties while fighting? Will it automatically fill in it's own pokedex entry? If I don't get to actually have it as a pokemon, then why, how is it that I have the pokemon but don't actually have the ability to actively use it in battle? If I don't get Rotom right away, then when and how will I get it later and would it affect the Rotom-Dex when I do finally get it?

I have a lot of questions about the Rotom-Dex, I think it is by far one of the weirdest and most mysterious features that have been revealed for this game so far. With the little detail given to us about it, it's pretty confusing when you think about the implications of having it with these new properties.

Now that I'm thinking about it, it's entirely likely it's just a kid-friendly version of the Pokedex. Just... it talks.

I think it will be able to talk and provide information at the players disposal. We already know it acts as a sort of guidance/map system, perhaps it will have built in features such as letting you know where nearby hidden items are.

It's shown to talk to you, and the subtitling said that it "changes the way you communicate with your Pokemon", implying that maybe Rotom acts as a relay?

I actually kinda forgot all about Rotom Dex. We have hardly heard it mentioned again, so I wonder if perhaps they scrapped the idea? Maybe not. We haven't even seen it in the trailers anymore. I am really surprised we have had no leakers mention other features about it.

Anyway, I don't think it will be an actual pokemon. I don't think we will be able to battle with it either. We might, but I would say it will be after a certain point in the game. I do hope there is a chance for it to be a Shiny Rotom or different colors. As the pokedex I think is usually a different color based on gender.

She's right, I think Rotom Dex's lack of trailer focus is maybe due to wanting to keep its functions under wraps until release or something since a lot of recent trailers have been focusing on new Pokemon.
