What Grinds you Gear...? Supporter edition....

Being Lied too. can't stand it. Just tell me the truth and get on with it.

When people can't use better grammar. (unless they have speech problems, then that's a different story)

Or when most members don't bother to read something that's right in front of their face, and still ask the most obviously, easy-to-read-right-in-front-of-your-face kind of questions in the wrong section or when they ask others that do know, but are too lazy to read and want to be told what to do, like they're a child or something.

98% of the people in the ROM-Hacking section. Go and look at a thread.

Also people who act like they're better than others lol irony.

People who don't understand acronyms and use them anyway...

ex.
-zOMG!!
uhh.. what?
-I, uh, said zOMG.
And That means.
-LETS CHANGE THE SUBJECT!!

anger.

oh yeah! and my brother dropping my DSi and forcing me to downgrade.

People that throw jokes out like no tomorrow, yet can't take them. I want to snap their neck. If you can't handle a joke, then it's not fair to throw them out at other people, is it? Didn't god damn think so.

People that speak behind other peoples backs. Now, I'm guilty of this in the past, and yes, I piss myself off, but I've tried to change.. and so far, so good. People do this to me so much, and yet I'm still not even used to it. I've considered leaving the internet for good because of backstabbing, but then I realised that no matter where you go, at some point in your life, someone is going to betray you.

That sounds a lot like a certain person I just got done talking to..hm, I wonder who.

People who expect others to know everything about them, just because they're them.

I also hate people that think they know everything and abuse the word 'fail' in an argument, hence making them look even stupider than they actually already are. lol, aren't I on your ignore list? And if that joke thing was directed at me, then I never joked with you. I never will. Know why? Because you suck at taking them.

My primary pet peeve is when people that talk to me while I have headphones on, or when people that try to talk to me while I am text messaging. Obviously, the person I am texting is far more interesting than you are.

People that insist on saying 'youse' instead of you. It's wrong and it's downright disgusting.

Also, people who think Google is the internet.

The fact that Extension English students in my year can't use grammar correctly or identify grammatical metalanguage, yet still instist that they're right because they're English students. Especially when you have better English skills from studying another language. If I happen to make any grammatical errors, appearing hypocritical, forgive me, as it's very late and I'm using my phone to post.

On that note, people who talk from their rear end about topics they don't know a whole lot about. And insist that they're right when you clearly know they're not.

Oh, and when something snags your heaphones and pulls them out. Few things make me want to knock a random person out, but that's one.

The fact that Iceland got bronze instead of gold, and that France won them yesterday in Handball.

Also news about bad economy really grind my gear...

I've never noticed anyone say youse.. :/

Another thing that grinds my gears is that when someone is given an opportunity to change their lives(like losing weight), but they are not doing it! They are playing the game or having a bad attitude. They are wasting it away. There are other people who would love to take their place and change their lives! And I don't like naggers, manipulators, liars, people who throw in the weigh-ins, and sore losers. It has happened in one reality show I been watching. And it makes me sick. Just go out there and lose weight!! Don't play the game and if you feel like you got a disadvantage, don't be a sore loser if you have a low weight loss!

Ok. Bash me for laziness but these quoted ones are canon anyway.

-N00bs who ask me questions that can easily be answered in CQ&F, like how I get a sound file in my sig. I really don't want to answer them, but I try to be nice, so...

-People who ask me to donate for them. Just because I'm a Supporter doesn't mean I'm a money bank. I might not have even been the one to pay for my account, but I was, so...

-Random. Friend. Requests. Seriously. Unless I've talked with you through VMs and threads and whatnot, I most likely won't add you. Even if you are friends with some of my other friends.

~Stuck up members. Who died and made them 'popular'.

~Staff members who believe they are better than us because they can lock and move topics.

There are particular members who annoy me, but I don't see the good that will come of naming them.

Additionally, I dislike anyone who comes across as arrogant to me on the first impression. Seriously, I do have a sense of humor, but save your lame jibes and jokes about me for later....like when we're good friends and I know you're not trying to be a jerk.
So yeah, it grinds my gears when people try to open friendly relations in that tone. (as described above)

People who are quick to mark a friendly gesture as 'sucking up'. Don't. Do. It. It screams arrogance, and I tend to find myself subconsciously trolling people like that in a light way. Dunno why I do that, but meh.

People who get upset or offended when you don't reply to their PM/VMs. We have lives, and much as we might wish we could ignore them, we just can't. So getting upset over not being paid attention to is a wasteful emotion which (In my experience) tends to lead to unwanted baggage.

People who seriously hate small talk, and get upset/grouchy/sullen when you open a conversation with it. I tend to try to open the floor with a little bit of small talk, and try to take the topic somewhere constructive whenever possible.

People who ridicule others for small things. Everyone knows that we ain't saints. Don't go bringing up stories about another person's faux pas unless it seriously ties into the topic. Don't do it at all, if the story is particularly embarrassing, or if they tend to get upset if it's told in their presence, or out in public.

This one is a three part piece:
Grammar Nazis. I understand fully, the need for coherent grammar, but minor punctuation errors are the least of a typical internet users' worrying.

Even worse is when someone makes a big deal out of one single mistake in an otherwise well written post.

Worst of all, is people who consider regionalisms, and spoken slang like "ain't", "youse", or spelling "color" as "colour" as improper grammar/spelling.
We're all human, get used to it bucko.

With all that being said, I am a friendly person, and by no means should anyone be afraid to "grind my gears"...just don't make a habit of it, and we'll get along just fine.

I don't mind a little bit of small talk, since unless I'm totally geeking out about something, it's usually the only thing that comes to my mind. I'm easy enough to get along with when I'm not being ridiculed, or feeling harassed in some way.

I'm getting used to having "1 notification" permanently.
[PokeCommunity.com] What Grinds you Gear...? Supporter edition....

It's stuck like that, there's a visitor message that stays unread. D:

And apart from myself (sometimes I judge people with bad spelling; I know I really shouldn't), the one thing that gets on my nerves is "What's up". Please, start a conversation on a topic, don't start a conversation with a TCP/IP style handshake*.
